Leading up to May 16th, the one year anniversary for Warner Brothers' and Legendary Picture's Godzilla (2014) I launched a contest asking the artistic members of our community to create a poster and/or wallpaper to commemorate the date. The requirements were that the poster had to include Godzilla, represent the new era of Godzilla movies in Hollywood and feature a tagline including Godzilla-Movies.com's address. Since Godzilla-Movies.com launched, it's grown very rapidly and has become one of the popular Godzilla forums for fans to get together and discuss both the classic and the upcoming films, games and merchandise. Today I selected a winner of those who entered and have updated our Godzilla News blog with the new artwork as well as our social media feeds.
Congratulations to DestroyahX who created an incredible piece of artwork representing the new (Legendary) Godzilla as well as promoting the new era of Godzilla movies! Two entries were submitted, one black and white, the other in color. Both are featured below:
There were plenty of great submissions and because of all the work many of our members went to, to create unique pieces of artwork for the contest, I will be giving out more prizes than originally planned.
The runners up include a variety of different pieces by different members with different styles, which you can see below:
Additional winners include: Huge-Ben and Daikaiju Danielle!
I would like to thank all who participated. I definitely plan to run contests like this again soon as we lead up to Toho's Godzilla (2016) and Legendary/Warner Bros.' Godzilla 2 in 2018.
Which poster was your favorite? Let us know in the comments section!
