Welcome back. In my first post, I focused on the star of the show, the first completely new Godzilla 2014 figure that debuted at this year's toy show in New York. Now I'm going to showcase the rest of the display. Many of these figures have been released by BanDai before overseas and are making their stateside debut. Sadly, others are re-releases from previous toy lines like the 2014 line, or even earlier.
First up is the atomic roar Godzilla. It's a gimmick figure, grab him by the tail, lean him down and he shoots out a plastic stream of glowing atomic breath. He also roars and makes his death ray sound. It's not really collector detailed, but it is really fun for kids and I enjoy the heck out of mine.
Atomic Vomit!
Some of you asked for clearer pics about this guy. It's from Bandai Creation's previous wave of figures, and represents King Ghidorah from Godzilla, Mothra, King Ghidorah: Giant Monsters All Out Attack. One thing you should learn is that making new figures is expensive, and it's cheaper to just recast old figures or re-release them in new packaging. Godzilla's oldest foe is a hero in this movie.
This is a figure that has been released at least one or two times before, so Godzilla: Final Wars is not new to the scene. But for a good sized figure he is worth it if you don't have one already.
These Destruction Packs and Cities were released before at Target and Toys R Us. The figures themselves are not that well detailed or noteworthy, but the buildings and bridge are a must have. Even if you only use them for a display, it's worth it.
These were previously released only in Japan. Think Transformers, but eggs that turn into kaiju. These aren't really must have for me, but with the relative drought of MUTO figures that exists, they may be worth picking up.
That's it for today. That's it for now. As always, I'm Shin-Goji, formerly of Twisted Kaiju Theater and now That Godzilla Guy.
