Kaiju-Man257- Agreed.
I'd like to see Kiko in the MonsterVerse, but I'm not not so sure because he would need a proper origin that it seems cannot be provided with Kong being the last of his kind.
Anyway, if we got both Godzilla Jr and Kiko, it might be too much. I'd rather have Godzilla Jr.
Thanks Ultrazero, I was hoping some of the folks around here had visited the DA page :)
I've read these before, and I like them.
Favorites are 1989, 1968, 1962 and 2000, I've always liked the latter two for their vaguely crocodile facial structure, while the former two for being sort of the best overall entries for making G look powerful and aggressive. G14 gets an honorable mention though, it's not a perfect design on the whole but where it gets it right it really gets it right.
I don't recall the origin of Kong's son explained in the sequel to the original film--I'll have to go back and check, but I think it's left ambiguous.
The origin of his son in King Kong Lives is... uh... unfortunately explained...
^What Im Durp said.
Eh best is a hard one. I want to say Biogoji since it's my favorite, but Ghidogoji is probably the "better" suit. I'll give it to Ghidogoji just slightly.
Worst:Musukogoji
Well Kong had a son 2 times.
There's the original Son of Kong where a baby is found on the island. Then there's King Kong Lives, where a female is found somewhere in the amazon or something and a baby is born at the end.
Those are both sequels to the original and 1976 remake though according to what we know of the Legendary Universe there's only 1 Kong.
As for monsters I'd like to see
Biollante
Destoroyah(in certain stories)
Anguirus
Titanosaurus
^ If I may ask, how does Kong have a son? Because isn't he the only of his kind. Sorry, I never saw Son of Kong.
@Godzilla: King of the Monsters
Thank you! I appreciate it!
Godzilla Jr, Kong Jr (Yes, Kong has a son. He was albino and only had one movie. He's almost been forgotten), Anguirus, Gigan, Megalon, Jet Jaguar (if we're counting Mecha units), King Caesar and MechaGodzilla.
KAIJU-MAN257 - I dearly wish to see Baragon in the Monsterverse! He is so very cute! :)
In defense of the MegaroGoji, the face went through some pretty big changes to eventually look fierce. I'm no fan of the friendly looking 1973 iteration, but by the time 1975 rolled around he was a much angrier looking beast. The brow was lowered, making him look permanently infuriated, a ridge was added on top of his head and his muzzle was reduced so that he looked like a rugged action hero--The lip curl and angry brow gave Godzilla a Clint Eastwood/Sly Stallone-esque scowl. He looked like a god-like avenger.
I don't think the 1975 iteration, sometimes dubbed the MekaGyakushuGoji, should necessarily be lumped in the same category as the 1973 MegaroGoji. The minor updates make a huge difference--Even the 1974 updates (MekaGoji) made him look more serious. Long story short, he was friendly in 1973, but in 1975 he was a disgruntled, seasoned action hero:

Anywho, clearly, and specifically, 1975 is my favorite suit. MekaGyakushuGoji all the way.
^Pretty much this.
If G:KotM and GvsK are box office home runs, we will see more movies.
Anguirus is my favorite, so him!
Would love to see Anguirus.
I want Anguirus and Mecha Godzilla.
I think the most powerful Godzillas would be: Burning, Final Wars, Shin (due to his destructive capabilities), Legendary, GMK, Heisei and Marvel. Not necessarily in that order, though.
@Kaiju-Man257
If I'm gonna be honest, Godzilla 2014 was a better constructed movie overall. Kong definitely had more action, but that doesn't necessarily mean it was better.
But hey. Film rating doesn't mean squat when talking about box office. Just look at the Bayformers. Hundreds of millions with every release, and they alllllll suck.
I just hope that Michael Dougherty knows to consider the human story as one of the most important aspects to get right for Godzilla 2 to be successful.
G.H. (Gman)
I know that, but I'm saying that I don't know if they'll have the guts to have one win. I'm hoping they would but I don't know if the company would want backlash. With them both winning, I meant something along the lines of it seeming like they both died but they're actually still alive. Like let's say that they're fighting on top of a Volcano, and it erupts, causing them to fall inside. The world thinks they're dead but the movie ends with us being shown that they're both very much alive.
I'll stick with cinematic versions and omit the offspring and imitators. Not specifically in order, but mostly giving it the tier rating.
Top Tiers
Heisei Godzilla (Burning)
Final Wars Godzilla
Heisei Godzilla (1990s)
GxM Godzilla
Heisei Godzilla (1980s)
Mid Tiers
GMK Godzilla
G2K Godzilla
Kiryu Godzilla
Low Tiers
Shin Godzilla
Legendary Godzilla
Showa Godzilla
First Godzilla (1954)
Godzilla 2014 Himself,
Nah. The moment we look at any of these films as simply wrestling matches instead of movies we devalue them. Of course the monster battles are the fun part to watch, but this isn't WWE. These are movies many, many people have worked on to create.
@TheGMan123 Do you know when they'll be selling the Rage Across Time book on amazon? As of now it's only for kindle
As for the list I have some gripes with it, but I'm not mad at you or anything. For me I would have put them in this order...
20. Original Minilla
19. Final Wars Minilla
18. Final Wars Zilla
17. Zilla
16. Hannah Barbara Godzilla
14. Zilla Jr
13. Godzilla 54
12. Godzilla Jr
11. Godzilla 2000
10. Showa Godzilla
9. Kiryu Godzilla
8. Shin Godzilla
7. Legendary Godzilla
6. Dark Horse Godzilla
5. Marvel Godzilla
4. GMK Godzilla
3.Burning/Heisei Godzilla
2. Final Wars Godzilla
1. Rulers of Earth Godzilla
@TheGMan123 That's what I'm expecting to happen
I heavily believe they will, after all the reason Michael Dougherty was promoted to director is because the script he and Zach Shields wrote was supposedly amazing.
I'd settle for a tie, personally. The two go at it for a LONG time, but neither are really getting an advantage over the other, and both just collapse from sheer exhaustion and give up fighting each other.
I'm surprised Legendary Godzilla is so high up. A lot of G-fans don't find him particularly threatening compared to heavy hitters like Heisei Godzilla. Glad to see that, though, since he's tanked things that make many others likely wouldn't be able to take.
Too bad the Rage Across Time and In Hell iterations aren't present. Those guys would've easily topped this list.
Said this before but based on both monster's intro movies in this universe, between the two I'd vote for Kong as for right now.
Haven't read any of the comics so just going off movie:
First: Meltdown Godzilla(Godzilla vs Destoroyah)
Last: Showa, but more specifically to narrow it down I'd say either the one in Son of Godzilla or Ebirah, Horror From the Deep.
Oh.. this will not go unchallenged.. Godzilla KOTM.. will have to be bigger.. badder.. more epic than the first. WB KNOWS they cannot afford to have G-KOTM.. fail.. given they want to get these 2 behemoths on the same screen together. I hope they pull out all of the stops with the G sequel.
I'm actually in the loop that I don't care who wins. I love both Godzilla and Kong.
On another note, it's not like Godzilla is undefeated. He's lost a few of his battles. Like Kong in 1962, mothra larvae in 1964, Super mechagodzilla in 93, just to name a few.
Like Gman said, if the film is good, it's entertainment value that counts.
@Kaiju-Man257 That's true, although I'm still in belief that G will win.
@G.H. (Gman) That's not necessarily true, it is a wrestling match. It's just one of cinematic proportions ;)
@NateZilla10000 XD that's true
It's certainly a possibility since he won last time. I wouldn't get too bent out of shape over it if the movie's good. These are movies after all, not wrestling matches.
