Design: Heisei Goji
Movie: Godzilla vs King Ghidorah.
The artist also did Mothra:

I hope it's in scale with Kiryu.
Damn, guess I must get another job to get these!
Favorite design- Biogoji
Favorite movie- Godzilla vs Destoroyah
Antlers, monkey masks, umbrellas, and rooftop stripping...
Just screams "Godzilla movie" to me!
In all seriousness, weird video aside, I really dug the song. Very haunting and very beautiful. I think it'll fit fine in the film!
Thanks for sharing!
I did not even mean to make a plant joke, but hey I'll own it.
Yumiko Shaku hasn't freaking aged a bit. 15 years later, still adorable...
*ahem* well, anyway... yeah! I'm pumped for this release! It's been on my S.H.MonsterArts short list since 2011, so color me excited! It's totally worth not having electricity for a month to have this guy on my shelf. ;)
It sounds nice.
@creaturefeature74,
by your logic this insect must be a plant because it looks like a plant
^I get it. "...GROWING on me". plant jokes
I agree with you though. This is going to be a fun movie and the direction its going could be a great way to expand the Godzilla universe.
This needs to be a labor of love, not a way to make a time line coexist with each other. If they try to connect these two franchises by a timeline they are going to hit a wall. Just have Godzilla show up fighting a kaiju and everyone just say "oh! Godzilla is here!", if they just recognize him then we can get the movie moving along much faster. Timeline lameline. Just get to the insanity this film would already asking to bring.
We are all willing to forego a lot of liberties to make this happen anyway, why even bring timeline and continuity up?
I think it makes for a fun night
Yes!!!!! That's one of my favorite Godzilla designs. Thank you!
I've always played around with the fan idea that the Precursors were messing around with multiple versions of Earth, since they're an alternate universe and whatnot and could probably do that sort of thing.
Thus, the main PR timeline is the one they decided to mess around in first, and maybe at a later point in another timeline, they go to the Monsterverse Earth. Again, just an idea I was playing around with in my head.
I'm not totally 100% sure how I feel about this song fitted into a Godzilla film, however, this song is beautifully written. The singer has an amazing voice. I'll talk more with my japanese friends on Twitter to find out more about this.
Hopefully I'll find out more.
Finally! something that isn't a repaint of the original.
Nice catch. Both are great giant monster films as well. Love me some Nick Adams.
^Agreed.
Maybe we’ll get a Kiryu rerelease too?
FINALLY!!!
The only way this crossover could happen is if (like The Hood stated) a portal to the time of or maybe a few years after Pacific Rim: Uprising opens up in the after-credits of Godzilla vs. Kong: 2020 (assuming Godzilla wins in 2020).
I call it..things gonna get ugly. Destroy all monsters render.. my take. What you think?

GETTING EXCITED ABOUT THE FUTURE OF KAIJU MOVIES.
The look is definitely growing on me. I really wasn't sure at first, but honestly I'm ready to at least see something different attempted. It could be disastrous for all we know, but I'm glad to see the franchise taking real risks now.
Relevance makes landfall. Thanks for the incentive to re-post the obvious:
"Ghidorah looks like a dragon because he's a dragon"
Ah, the line of thinking that could potentially deliver the most disastrous King Ghidorah yet. It's been a hot minute.
By that logic Audrey 2 isn't a plant either
From a design perspective I cannot see any other possibility than a plant
Kong looks like an ape because he is an ape
Godzilla looks like a dinosaur because he is a dinosaur
Anguirus looks like a dinosaur because he is a dinosaur
Megalon looks like a beetle because he's a beetle
Ghidorah looks like a dragon because he's a dragon
AniGoji looks like a plant because he's a _____
Whatever, after the whole gills and feet fiasco it amazes me how much Toho can radically change Godzilla with the fans calling it the best thing ever every time
Plants don't have eyes, nor do they have vocal chords, nor do they respirate aerobically, nor do they have grey matter neural structures, etc.
Just because it's plant inspired doesn't mean it's truly a plant. Birds evolved from archosaurs like raptorial dinosaurs, yet we don't call birds reptiles even though we really should. Heck, crocodilians are more closely related to birds, genetically speaking, than they are to reptiles like lizards and snakes, whom themselves are from a different ancestral branch, yet they're still lumped in with those other reptiles.
There's a reason it's "plant origins" and not just "plant". That's because the creators are signifying that this is a newly evolved creature whose ancestral roots lie in traditional plant life.
>He evolved from plant life
>Shares many characteristics with plants
>dorsal spines are literally leaves
>looks like he is made out of roots
And somehow you people keep saying he isn't a plant
The mental gymnastics this fandom does to justify whatever Toho does are some of the most blatant and outrageous I've ever seen from any fandom, especially after throwing a tantrum over gills and feet
Yes yes yes and... YES!!
^D'oh! Yeah. That's an easy one.
I think it's more likely we'll see an Eclipse box set of these, but either way, this is probably the biggest news in the fandom right now.
^well now you got to say it now!
Biollantte is a great monster but doesn't have this kind of story line backing her up. There is a great possibility that Godzilla is not a walking plant.
im sure the movie will go into more detail and give an explanation about his origins
im really rooting for her in this movie. I really cant wait to see what will become of this movie!
I have a feeling that she has something to do with Mothra. what do you guys think?
^ yes I thought the festival releases where a fun thing to introduce.
thank you for this info as well
No one thought to put Invasion of Astro-Monster with Frankenstein Conquers the world? Nick Adams stars in both films along with the same cast!
This is amazing please release all those as a set I already have my money ready.
Interesting you're using the festival dates for some of the Millennium releases. In any case, yes I have a few I'd also like to add:
NOV. 9 - Riichiro Manabe’s Birthday -
The late composer of Godzilla vs. Hedorah and Godzilla vs. Megalon would have been 92.
NOV. 11 - Takayuki Hattori’s Birthday -
The composer of Godzilla vs. SpaceGodzilla, Godzilla 2000 and the upcoming Godzilla: Planet of the Monsters turns 52.
NOV. 16 - Jun Kunimura’s Birthday -
The prolific actor who played Tanaka in the Kill Bill movies also played Maj. Komuro in Godzilla: Final Wars and cabinet staff member Masao Zaizen in Shin Godzilla. He also played Kubal in the Attack on Titan movies. He turns 62 years young.
NOV. 17 - Hiroshi Sekita’s Birthday -
The actor played many small, featured extra parts throughout Toho's Sci-fi/Fantasy films. But he's probably best known for playing Sanda in War of the Gargantuas. He also played Gorosaurus in both King Kong Escapes and Destroy All Monsters as well as Mechani-Kong and Anguirus in those same films, respectively. Arguably his biggest part was playing all of Godzilla's land scenes in Son of Godzilla since the suit was too large for Nakajima. He turns 85.
NOV. 17 - Giant God Warrior Appears in Tokyo Theatrical Anniversary -
Though it was released to the public at an earlier date for the Tokusatsu Museum, Shin Godzilla's Hideaki Anno and Shinji Higuchi's short film makes its theatrical debut with Evangelion 3.0.
NOV. 21 - Yumi Shirakawa’s Birthday -
The actress who passed away in June of last year stared in Rodan, The Mysterians, Gorath and The H-Man. She would have been 81. (You can read more on her in my report from last year here.)
Movies
1. Shin Godzilla
2. Godzilla vs King Ghidorah
3. Godzilla vs MechaGodzilla (1993)
4. Godzilla vs Destoroyah
5. Gojira
Really excited for this movie, but all I could think of after reading this was "What does a 13 year old need a million dollars for??", lol. But I love her in Stranger Things, so whatever. I'm really hoping they go big for this movie.
Fantastic news!!
