riggzamortis86,
That was for a slot machine game in Japan. You can watch those in-game cut scenes here. Though the quality isn't very good.
This footage is notable for being the last Godzilla effects footage that Koichi Kawakita directed. (And honestly it looks better than much of his work in the Heisei series... :/ )
YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSS!!!!
i ADORE Godzilla Island! I've seen it from beginning to end probably a dozen times! It is, completely unironically, one of my favorite Godzilla things ever. You totally get into it, and soon, you don't think about the toys. It sounds ridiculous, but it's totally true!
Its been a difficult show for western fans to see in its entirety. I'm so glad that now people will have the opportunity to see this super fun, super weird, super wonderful little show.
Well this is unexpected.
Haha! That should be fun to watch! Crunchyroll taketh away, and youtube givith.
I have been watching Ultraman Nexus in my free time and enjoying it. After Nexus, what would be the next best Ultraman series in line to get into?
It would be great to see other Kaiju shows or movies on Crunchyroll as well. Wasn't there some kind of show that featured Godzilla fighting other kaiju's? what looked like the Godzilla suit from Godzilla Against Mechagodzilla(2002) fighting anguirus from Final Wars, and King Ghidorah(looked like the suit from GMK)? I saw clips on youtube and didn't know what to make of it. What the hell was that?
riggzamortis86,
There is currently no word on whether or not Crunchyroll will stream other Godzilla movies. However they are currently streaming 10 Ultraman series.
that sucks. Im sure for everyone out there who does not own a copy of either film will miss this. My question is, are they replacing these movies with any other Godzilla films? Or any other monster movies?
Liked the final chapter, SFK.
Final chapter is up.
I look forward for the final chapter.
New chapter. One more to go.
*Past
Could anyone plz edit that? The edit button is broken.
tbh tho, I honestly don't see the point of manga adaptation, aside from the stuff(character's ast, etc) that are mainly exclusive to the manga, I don't see myself reading it.
Good job, SFK.
New topic for the last three chapters.
Hell, I'll buy it if it comes out.
I was wondering if it would get a manga. I'm very happy to hear this.
An official mangaka, eh?
Interesting.
Did anyone else notice that there is also a 50m 2017 Godzilla (lower right hand side). It must have grown a lot while the humans were jumping through space.
I'm curious how Mechagodzilla is going to fight Godzilla given that it was supposedly constructed when Godzilla was still only 50 meters tall. Perhaps they'll go with the IDW route and have an army of Mechagodzillas go up against Godzilla instead. Should be interesting to see no matter what.
Shin Godzilla barely passes the kneecaps on Anime Godzilla. That's one big monster.
I think this works better for animation and its established universe than it does live action. If it were live action and placed in a present day metropolitan area I'd have a bigger problem with it--The scaling isn't very relatable. But since cities, as we know them, no longer exist in this continuity and animation can get away with more, I'm alright with it. With nothing to immediately scale him to on-screen, it's not as noticeable.
I think it's mostly to do with the comparative differences.
Previously, the largest film version was 100 meters. A little under 8 more meters wasn't a lot, and some folks wanted a more drastic difference. Even ShinGoji was only a little over 10 meters taller than LegendaryGoji, continuing the trend of incremental increases.
But this? This severely dwarfs EVERYTHING. The sheer size of the disparity throws people off, I guess.
I like how people are complaining about this now, when there was a massive call for Godzilla to be this height in the 2014 movie. Some were so disappointed about G'14 "only" being 108 meters that when they watched the movie they tried to deny the official height as to short and ove-measure him based on other structures.
Been when Toho (really Polygon) does it, boy oh boy is that a sin.
@TheGman123
what about bigger than a multi omniverse?
Godzilla: Eater of Space
Nonetheless, I like how this Godzilla is like a much older Godzilla 2014--who has continued growing to reach this point. The design resembles that concept.
Bigger than an OMNIVERSE!
But don't worry..... I WILL one-up Toho and Polygon Pictures. Just you wait, anime! JUST YOU WAIT!
^
Or bigger than a multiverse!
Whats next? a Godzilla the size of a continent or a planet..... or a solar system.... or even a freaking Galaxy! (Gurren Lagann reference)
Dang... and people had a beef with me when I said Godzilla 2014 version should be at least 600 feet tall.. and TOHO goes and makes him 984 feet. Just a couple hundred feet shy of the empire state building.
Edwards version had the appearance.. on screen anyway.. of looking about 600 feet tall when next to buildings where specs were easy to get and compare.
but of coarse.. it's a "movie" so.. grab your pop corn and your soda.. sit back and pay no mind to anything that would take away from the movie's overall theme.. because we all know that NObody cares about improprieties and discrepancies in the visuals ?
(I sure do)
At least the makers of Independence Day got things to scale and their visuals created a stunning depiction of a massive space ship covering a city....
and yet.. for Edward's Godzilla.. they could have made him 600 feet tall (come to think of it.. they originally wanted him to be that tall) .. but decided to make him 355 ft.. and scale the buildings down to make him appear larger than life.
Yes.. I was torqued about it then.. and moved on.. but NOW.. TOHO had to do this.. after the fact.. and now.. Hollywood can't ever make the claim that "size does matter'.. because TOHO OWNS GODZILLA.. and like I have said before.. they won't be outdone by Follywood.
Man...... I was writing a Godzilla that was the biggest ever.....
AND ANIME JUST HAD TO RUIN MY MOMENT!
*Grumble grumble*
I love how insane the size difference is.
Godzilla went down to Georgia.. he was looking for a good meal.. he didn't mind.. cuz Kong was way behind.. looking for a banana to peel.
Then big ole G came across billboard.. saying that Kong was King..
then he looked around at the people on the ground.. thinking "what this bull crap thing".
I guess you didn't know it.. but I'm a bad a** monster too.. and I'll beat that ape.. so you'd better role tape.. cuz this God's got his eye on you..
now kong's got skills I wont deny.. but give this kaiju his due..
I wont play second fiddle to a monkey in the middle.. so get ready for a rumble true.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I just had to say that.
Whoa.. that last blast.. was off the chain insane. I look forward to seeing the whole thing.
I think this Godzilla being this size is perfect, especially considering he is the ultimate creature of Earth. However it doesn't work for all Godzillas.
Joking aside, he shouldn't get any bigger than 300 meters.
Man! I can't wait for Godzilla to be bigger then the earth, wait even better! Bigger than the galaxy itself!
New chapter is up.

And you took my words out of my mouth.
