ChrisGodzilla Minus Zero NewsGodzilla vs. Kong (2020) trailer release date delayed with cancellation of CinemaCon

Yeah, I was wondering how Toho's agreement with Legendary and WB would affect the possibility of another release date shift. I think given the circumstances, if it means they can profit more off its release by doing so then the decision would be a no-brianer.

like Chris said, the movie could very well get delayed. With James Bond and Marvel's Eternals both coming out near GvK's current release, along with Coronavirus and late marketing, the film would do very bad in November considering all these circumstances. If it is still going to be set for its release, I would say SDCC is the best time for a trailer to be shown. However, that could be canceled as well. A trailer could drop on the internet without a big cinema event premier, but I'm not sure if that would recieve as much attention, so I think the best option would be to push it back even further (though of course I would still like to see it ASAP). I'm really not sure anymore.

I think this benefits GvK. A trailer closer to the release date will prevent the hype dying down before it comes out

Sonuvah!!! Why can't they just release the trailer online already? They need to give us something and soon.

honestly, i think the delays are causing some hype? however monarch sciences no longer display Godzilla but does display the other three so online marketing may have started with this.

IamNobodyGodzilla ForumHow is Kong even alive?

YeOldFossil: never said Godzilla went to shore, just that he made his home in the waters for a time. also, Godzilla would likely have acted to kill the skull crawlers should they have not been kept in check as they would have propagated and left the island which would have destroyed the order of nature.

also from the novelization kong would does not seem to know how long the other titan/Godzilla was in the waters around the island, just that he was there for a time, then left. given the skull, crawlers would have recognized the presence of an alpha and high tailed it out of there.

It's possible the film will get pushed to 2022 at this rate. They've shifted once, now facing a box office brawl with 007 and to top it off this Covid-19 virus will only be tailing off around Fall... I wouldn't be surprised if the movie gets bumped again now. Kinda want it to happen too, cause we need this one to be a box office success.

Godzilla wouldn’t care or bother. The skullcrawlers were probably pushed back by Kong’s parents and they retreated after the heavy losses. Also I read the part in the book and they Kong’s would have seen Godzilla through the rocks because he actually witnessed his parents death and watched the skullcrawlers walk away when they won. I’m sure the comic would have mentioned him hearing Godzilla or sensing him.

IamNobodyGodzilla ForumWait why are we thinking its only one big bad?

JurassicKaiju14 ill admit im wrong about the date. however ya i thing the Big G is going to take a beating from kong, cause let's face it Godzilla heals very fast. however eventually Godzilla will be fed up with kong and start hitting back when that happens kong is going to get very badly hurt very fast.

IamNobody "I should state i view Godzilla King of the monsters happening in around 2018 and not 2019."

It doesn't. It takes place in 2019, five years after the events of 2014. It even says 2014 in the opening San Francisco scene. The film says five years have passed since then. Thus, 2019.

I should state i view Godzilla King of the monsters happening in around 2018 and not 2019. however i will admit I may be off by one year i am dyslexic so I'm not the best with numbers. however, I do not feel that 2 years is enough to fully build that particular monster unless he was a Hollow earth creation. so we would be seeing him in his incomplete form if he is used.

I also feel kong has PTSD and its not much of a stretch eather given his tragic past. so he will likely attack on-site any titan that sets foot on his island.  so because of this, he is going to be very aggressive. they're going to have a big fight in the film, however honestly I do not see kong wining as kong cant really take the same level of beating Godzilla can, but i do not see Godzilla killing kong.

I actually have the 2002 Godzilla. I also have the re-released 2002 Kiryu with the additional Absolute Zero and battle damaged parts.

GojiFanPatGodzilla ForumWhat other Titan/Kaiju would you add if you made KOTM ? (Only 1)

I'd probably put in Anguirus. Since he seemed to be teased in Godzilla's undersea lair, I would theorize that there was, in fact, a monsterverse Anguirus, but there is one thing wrong with this theory: How did he die? Did he die many years ago? And to who, or what did he die to? Anyhoo, I would expect that he would have the same symbiotic relationship that Godzilla has with Mothra in KOTM.

I think that Biollante is pretty desirable, because she goes for $1,449.98 on Amazon.

I personally haven't found the comics that great but both novelizations are better than their movie counterparts. KoTM is the stronger of the 2 imo as it's more an expansion on the story and characters whereas 2014 has a lot of differences with the film.

I am somewhat biased though as I was a fan of the author Greg Keyes due to his work with the star wars njo series.

The KOTM artbook is great. Godzilla: Aftershock is alright, I suppose.

The KOTM novelization is a mixed bag, in my opinion. On the one hand, it offers a greater insight into the minds of the characters (which is always a highlight of novelizations, IMO), and adds a few additional scenes and even a few new Titans. But on the other hand, the fight scenes felt kind of skimpy to me, even more so than the film proper.
