Which of the three movies and the series I listed weren't woke? I'm pretty sure all of those were.
Moldovan0731 seems to be tossing the "woke" moniker for anything he deems bad without any real thought, especially within context of this matter. I doubt he caught on to what was or was not spoken about specific movies with progressive stances. (Like, y'know, the majority of the Godzilla series...)
Oh yes they were, or at least KotM. Several times the director, Michael Dougherty talked about all the "badass female characters" in the movie and how excited he was about that. Vera Farmiga said in an interview that the film passed the Bechdel Test, meaning the movie consists of at least two female characters who don't ever talk about another guy.
However, it's not so much like that in the movie. There is diversity and technacly some strong female characters (like those in G-Team), but there aren't any reoccuring themes concerning female empowerment in the movie. I personally don't want any forced themes in GvK, but I'm not really concerned that there will be, and even if there are, it's probably the least of the problems that could occur in the film.
Also, don't forget that it can be done well without being preachy or forced: think Alien/Aliens and Ready Or Not.
Well, those were done tastefully/well, and they didn't really talk about it. When stuff like this is talked about, it's usually a bad sign, but let's hope it's not in this case.
I just knew as soon as this article came out that a select few will zero in on the two girls bit and freak out. I understand concerns but this is really the first real morsel of information we've had and it only piques my interest.
And like some who've been invested in the franchise for a very long time will tell you, worrying about a Kaiju film series who's very origin was a political statement suddenly getting political is missing the forest for the trees.
I didn't see alarms going off when the cast kept getting announced for GvK and each new entry provided more diversity to the cast, and that's probably because KOTM had just as rich a cast and nobody cared.
Even recent legendary production Jurassic world: fallen kingdom had three prominent female characters that impacted the story and ba strong conservation message but I didn't see to many concerns about that. So I'm sure this GvK tidbit isn't a cause for alarm either.
Hope we get a trailer eventually to actually see what this film will be like.

It's panic for the sake of it. Besides, at what point have Legendary's movies gone, "the unholy specter of woke" route? Not just the Monsterverse, I mean just about any of Legendary's movies.
Even if it did, that doesn't mean the movie's quality will take a nose dive. It's merely a mark of the times and another thing that will be looked back on in film texts for this decade of cinema. Identity politics is absolutely the last thing I'm concerned about for Godzilla vs. Kong--In fact, don't think it even makes the list of concerns at all.
That said, I fully welcome the idea of two leading ladies taking center stage. Worked for Gamera, GMK, the Kiryu Saga, etc.
It was ideas and speculation. Sure, in the end, the subject of two young girls being a big part of the film will probably be the most unimportant/uninteresting topic of the movie, but before we actually get good, descriptive information, there's not much to talk about.
Oh, you're really going to pretend to not know what we're talking about? Having two girls/women as main characters is fine IF they're not executed the way several female main characters are executed nowadays in Hollywood.
Also, why is everyone raising their red flags over two ladies being the core of the story? As if that's never happened before.

The original King Kong vs. Godzilla was a blatant assault on the post-war Japanese, white-collar lifestyle and a salary man satire criticizing Japan's new norm with capitalism.
Questioning how relevant or preachy they can make any movie is a mistake.
Godzilla movies have always had political undertones and messages. There are more characters than just Godzilla and Kong, and a subplot including female empowerment is possible. I remember in an interview with Vera Farmiga last year, she mentioned that KotM passed the Bechdel Test (I think that's what its called), and this movie may expand upon that. I myself do not want this to happen; it would would be unnecessary, forced, and the movie would lose sight of the most important part of its story.

This has me a bit concerned. My biggest nightmare about Godzilla vs Kong is that it will go woke. I may have become a bit paranoid because of various recent movies though.
It's really a Godsend that this got delayed. This could be the Citizen Kane of the MonsterVerse and it would have tanked had it been released now. Not sure how it will do in November or if they'll maintain that same release schedule, but now would be disastrous with people staying away from crowded places.

Two young girls... Madison is the only child actress in this movie to my knowledge; could she be talking about Maddie and herself? It would seem unlikely, and they're not really children, but could she be referencing the shobijin? Ziyi Zhang is returning

I know what you mean. I've never actually gotten the chance to see a Fast and Furious film, but I am aware of the over the top plots and sequences that make those movies so iconic. KotM seemed to be caught between a grounded/serious tone and just total none sense, coming off as a bit scatterbrained and unknowing of it's tone. I personally prefer the more grounded approach G14 took, and I would have liked that a bit more in KotM, but if GvK is going to go a more crazy rout (and seems like it is) I think it should try to embrace that instead of being conflicted between two different tones. A perfect example of this among the Fast and Furious films is Aquaman, a total whack and chaotic movie that I think works perfectly. However, considering the more grounded universe that has been astablished in the MonsterVerse so far (despite KotM's more fantastical approach), I still think the aircraft carrier (or at least what we know about it) is too much.
The imagery, the music, the sound effects but most of all the giant, misunderstood hero. The way he battles back after almost total defeat!

Dead serious! Those movies know exactly what they want to be and they do it with heart and charm--Bad ass, over-the-top, hilariously absurd storylines that have gone so far off the deep end they don't care how unrealistic they are. But they do it with a bunch of likable characters too.
If only King of the Monsters went all-in with that kind of over-the-top charm.
They don't put the trailer online because cinemacon is specifically for industry insiders and press I think. Things there aren't meant to be shown to the public yet I guess

If anything we have even less info than the original synopsis. Not sure if it's real, but there's a different plot synopsis in the imdb page for GvK that actually has a bit more detail.

In addition to A Quiet Place II, both Mulan and Fast & Furious 9 have now been moved. (I will laugh my ass off if Mulan moves to November.)
Furious 9 hurts the most. Once my most anticipated movie of 2020... now my most anticipated of 2021 I suppose.
GvK is not the only casualty (A Quiet Place II comes to mind and has no release date now). Other movies will be affected too, just like concerts and sporting events.
It might not be a bad time to consider pay per view somehow. About five or so years ago, there was talk of releasing movies in theaters and streaming (PPV) the same day but I don't think it ever happened.
