Collect every godzlla movie on DVD. i alreadt have Godzilla vs. Hedorah, Godzilla against mechagodzilla, and Ghidrah the three headed monster

I have been trying to tell this to oblivious fans who think that monsters like Megalon and Hedorah are going to make it into the movie, but they never seem to stay up-to-date on the news.

No, Megalon will not be in this film. For one, BOTH of Godzilla's opponents will be new. And two, what makes you think that both of Godzilla's enemies will both be insectoids? THAT needs an explanation

I'm not really sure what made me a Godzilla fan and I don't really know if I can quite explain it appropriately. Probably just his size, cool sounding roar and his sheer bad-assness is what made me a fan.

The '98 version of Godzilla never released a trailer for quite some time; however, they hyped it up for at least six months or more prior to its release and, it didn't do too well. And, to all those saying Legendary doesn't owe anyone anything? Well, neither do the fans owe Legendary anything and if they want the fans to be excited about the movie enough to want to open their wallets to see it, maybe they'd better start thinking about what it is they owe the fans. I haven't went to a move in a theater for years and this is the first movie that's come along which I'm excited enough to see as soon as it's released that I might consider actually going to a theater to watch it. But, if they want to be noobs about everything, I might reconsider and just wait until it comes out used on Blue Ray or, I might just order it on Pay-per-View or wait until it's available On Demand.

I think his fire should look like actual real fire. If one has ever seen the movie Sucker Punch, the fire should look similar to that fire produced by the dragon in that movie. Except, maybe, significantly more volume produced and distance covered.

Well blue fire looks better and in real life blue is hotter than red, fire wise. Red fire is just to plain like you see red fire all the time but not a whole fire beam that is blue. The blue is better i think and is more original and i think it makes godzilla, godzilla

Don't forget G2000 Millennium, and (even though it isn't that good) G Vs. Megaguirus. I agree with Chuck Norris. He should have a normal blue beam, but if he charges it up longer it goes into critical mass, or maybe after he attacks a power plant/ after he gets power? I don't know just something like that.

Blue as it's the one most familiar to people. The red flame was only seen in the latter Heisei films as in Destroyah only because of his meltdown and after SpaceGodzilla infected him. Otherwise his normal flame is blue.

I'll be watching a Godzilla marathon of the movies that I own as well, I just got done watching King Of The Monsters tonight.

Other than Godzilla's, I also like King Ghidorah's (both his old and 1991 versions), Rodan's, Mechagodzilla's from GvsM2, Titanosaurus's, and Anguiras's roars. Also like Gigan's and Megalon's as well.

For me it's a tie between King Ghidorah and Mechagodzilla but I also think Rodan is really cool too. I also liked Orga from Godzilla 2000.

I remember seeing Ghidorah The Three Headed Monster on the old disney channel when I was a kid, that was my first Godzilla movie I saw and I've been a fan ever since, used to collect some action figures of him too.

I think Megalon would be cool to use as well, he was only used once and I thought he actually put up a pretty descent fight in godzilla vs megalon, I'm not sure if I'd go with the design pictured above though, looks too much like kumacaras, I do like the concept design on the left though of the second picture but without the 2 extra arms. He does fit well too in the bug category since there's going to be bug monsters that Godzilla will apparently be facing but I don't mind seeing a new monster either.

The design gives off the persona of being strong and a "king," if you will, but with a little touch ups we could have some real eye candy. Extremely excited for this movie, grew up with Godzilla movies.

@ GMAN2887 Noted on the football analogy, perhaps the world cup is a better more refined analogy as this happens once every 4 years. I have no intention of boycotting the movie and won't advocate it. To an extent your comments on the 'treat them mean, keep them keen' strategy are sound but at some point you've got to capitalize on the buzz. If you wait too long it is like the fairground hammer and bell game, let the momentum dwindle too much and face having to start from scratch. My main concern is that Pacific Rim was the perfect test subject to take the temperature on Kaiju movies and there has been a lukewarm response for a number of reasons - my own opinion is that it does some things great but other things so-so and it has a gaping big plot hole in it too (a discussion for another time); word is the marketing has been mediocre (the trailer on reflection does give away all the key parts) and on reflection the release date was a highly competitive one (a competition which Pacific Rim lost btw). So this provides a lot of food for thought for Legendary as Pacific Rim didn't fly out of the traps like Avengers, TDK(R) or even MOS. Certainly Godzilla is a global icon, the oldest movie franchise in the world (60yrs in 2014) BUT there hasn't been a US movie since '98 there hasn't been a JP movie since 2004 so there are at least a generation who don't really know the big G. Start the hype train now it is less than a year, so drop a few breadcrumbs.

I think Megalon would be a cool monster to use.

I would like to see Megalon in a new movie since he was only used in the movies once. So yeah while he's kind of lame, he's got potential and with a new design like the ones up above, it's looks pretty cool, plus if they're going with bug insects they should totally throw in Kamacuras, Kumonga, and Megaguirus. Could be a sweet four on one battle.

The problem with the football analogy is that football games, high school, college or professional, take place every week. It's an information flow that is unstoppable to prevent and easier to spread. SDCC happens once a year. It is this exclusive, lucrative event that makes it acceptable to hide such materials from outside the convention. I like the overall comparison to media embargo with stuff like Netflix, but I think the point there is moot. As of right now the withdrawl of information is doing nothing but generating buzz and a strong, almost adolescent desire, amongst fans to see footage from this film. It's tough and I wish I could see the footage as well, but it's a brilliant, almost reverse psychology in marketing that makes this work. I mean, lets be honest. Do you really think anyone is going to boycott any movie just because some people see a trailer earlier than others? Please.

But overall I frickin love the first pic of Gigan! Would love to see this in the new Godzilla movie!

One thing I like in the Godzilla designs we've seen is that they mix a classic Godzilla with a more real world skin texture, much like Stan Winston had done. The maquettes and Encounter CGI we've seen look like a mix of the Always 2 Godzilla, alligator & lizard textures, the '54 Godzilla spike arrangement and Godzilla 2000 type shapes to the spikes. I'm glad that they look like G2K in silhouette only and have a flatter, bone look than the crystals.

Godzilla's birth will likely come from a breakdown at a nuclear facility. If they're taking the realistic approach, Japan had a big radiation spill from a plant just a few years ago. Legendary's film could feature commentary on the use of nuclear power to the effect that Gojira commented on the experimentation with nuclear weapons. I don't like the Godzillasaurus angle at all. I prefer an obscure origin, he's a mutation or an awoken beast of the depths, but leave him without a blatant origin. To me, it ruins franchises when you try to put an origin to a character that started without one. There's something good and more frightening in a mystery. Defining what Godzilla is with a specific creature he starts out as leaves opening for him to be more vulnerable, like in '98, he was a mutated iguana, and based on the previously mentioned mutation of worms in that film, audiences will not feel that Godzilla can stand up to anything, where if you don't know what he is, you don't know what can stop him. I hope this film doesn't explain what he came from beyond the incident, but don't cite a particular animal.

I don't think you could ever overuse Mecha G. even though I always, ALWAYS root for Godzilla in any battle - man, monster, or machine. And as far as the question posted on Facebook just recently regarding Megalon as a formidable foe, I have to say no, he would not be as he has never been in the past. He's predictable and is too easy to "kill" or just sweep aside for more pressing matters for the Big G.

Final Wars redesign is my favorite. They made him look so badass.
