I want to see something that foreshadows a classic Toho kaiju, setting it up to return in a sequel. Also i would love to see Godzilla just generally being destructive and unstoppable, knocking over skyscrapers, demolishing waves of U.S. troops, etc.

A few days ago i saw Ken Watanabe listed as playing Dr. Serizawa on IMDB, but it has been changed since then.

I'd personally like to see a real monster brawl. I mean towards the heisei and millennium the monsters would just shoot beams at eachother, and in the showa era it was just guys in suits doing karate moves. I'd love to see a fight like in Godzilla raids again that actually looks like a monster fight(biting scratching, constantly being at eachother's throat ect). Hopefully with cgi they'll be able to make the monsters move more fluidly and do things that would have been too difficult for people in suits to do.

I want them to have a scene where they try to stop Godzilla with an electric fence in a homage to the original 1954 film. They probably won't do that but it would be pretty awesome.

I heard a rumor (though weve all heard the multi armed bugger was just part of that test footage) that the multi armed thing in the film is presumed to be godzilla and while wrecking the city THE REAL GODZILLA SHOWS UP TOWERING OVER IT BY ATLEAST 200 FT AND DESTROYS IT AND WHATS LEFT OF THE CITY. to me that idea is SICK if it is in the film but honestly its been so long and never have i seen the GMAN that big that at this point i dont think i can find anything to complain about CHEERS BROTHER

What looks to be part of the creatures tail reminds me of Baragon a little bit but I doubt that any other Toho monsters will be in it. I don't think aliens will be involved since Edwards wants to ground the movie in reality as much as possible and having aliens will remind a lot of people of the original series of movies.

I've been up all night because of this trailer and I was dead tired when I posted this thread. I just hope this movie is going to rock.

It's not going to be anything like Pacific Rim or Prometheus. We already know it's going to be a really serious and dark movie dealing with issues of Humanity trying to control Nature and that it will have a strong family theme.

Larger than any other Godzilla, but not by too much. Gareth Edwards said that his Godzilla's record size was about the equivalent of adding an antenna to the world's second largest building to make it bigger than the world's largest building.

Well this trailer came from the 2012 comic con and to my understanding the movie wasn't even finished being written at that point. As for the monster in it, doesn't look like any monster so far. When I heard i described as a centipede a year ago the first thing I thought was great a mothra larvae. Thankfully it looks nothing like her, or any other monsters. As for where they came from I'm guessing something got radiated, normally godzilla movies dont get too complicated it terms of origin. When I saw that shot I got reminded of 1998 godzilla too, but the building behind it is also basically torn in half and it would make sense that if a monster went through a city he would go through buildings so that really doesn't bother me. Personally loved the music and monologue in the background, it really set the tone and was a great edition to an otherwise mediocre trailer.

OK, let me start off by acknowledging the fact that the dead thing in the trailer was NOT a centipede. Those rumors need to be put to rest. It is more of a multi-legged lizard creature than anything else. But it may or may not be in the film. We don't know yet. That teaser was more of concept footage than an actual trailer. But you never know.

The "dead thing" is more than likely one of Godzilla's foes. It's still smoldering from when it got its ass handed to it. It shouldn't look familiar at all. All new monsters. New monsters are more than likely accidental mutations that occurred while trying to play around with nuclear energy. Fukushima? Maybe. Godzilla '98? How so? I'm not saying that it can't provoke thoughts about it, but I'm curious to know why you thought about that specific movie/monster. The music that was in the teaser wasn't part of the "original" soundtrack of 2001: A Space Odyssey. They used it most famously though. The name of the song, if memory serves me well, is "Atmospheres", composed by Gyorgy Ligeti. Just because you're not getting attention, doesn't mean that the hype is lacking, or the movie is doomed. We're too busy watching the trailer we all, should've, downloaded yesterday and trying to determine when we'll wake up. This isn't even a full trailer, and it sure as hell wasn't meant to be released yet (which explains why the trailer is not available online anymore). It was the teaser that was edited for the 2013 SDCC, but as I wasn't at the 2013 or 2012, I'm not exactly sure which one it is.

Wow, so much enthusiasm... Okay, this film is doomed: where's the hype? I get nothing frolm this (so-calles) premium-website about Godzilla. Way to go dudes... Like Prometheus showing too much, this is showing too little of the WHOLE DANG thing we've been waiting for so long...

Tu quoque Durp004... You have no idea how disappointed I was with Prometheus. I couldn't stand anything at the time it was released. If this turns out to be some Monster-brawler fest like Pacific Rim, and not the serious, more down-to-earth approach that we've all come to appreciate...well, you know where I'm getting at, I'd hate to leave the theatre all nauseous and upset because I couldn't make out anything that was displayed in front of me.
