Im 16 but wouldnt mind it being rated R. Me and my dad are G-fans. He has been a G-fan since godzilla hit the silver screen, hes the one the got me to love the classic movies. Plus i think if it was rated R it would be a interesting change to Godzilla. 

People are saying this is going to be a "campy" Godzilla movie? And, they seen the trailer? 

I need an emoticon of a confused smiley........ LOL. 

I want to see more advertisment, but there is a fine line I think between advertising and annoying. I want to feel like I am seeing it for the first time when I go to the theater. There is a push lately to show so much in TV ads - the best parts are already out before the movie is released. The suspense is gone. 

They have gotten this much right so far - I am hopeful they will get the rest of it right too. :) 

I agree with @hulkjimi that since godzilla is going to be basically titan size and king kong would just be tiny compared to godzilla.

its your opinion i guess. i dont really see what you see. but anyway if they do make one i think it should be based off of the recent comics that came out. i forget the name of them. one of the issues had godzilla fighting zilla

KING_OF_ZOMBIES you lost all your credibility for me personally when you said Dragon Ball Z, God do I hate that show with a passion. Godzilla could be a much better anime than people give it credit for. As long as they take it seriously and don't try any of that stupid anime humor it would be awesome.

Can I just say how much I love those feet? I'm serious. I love those feet, it's so realistic but looks cool and mutated enough to still be awesome! Couldn't this guy have just connected all the pieces? Cuz, it's kinda teasing.

In my hater opinion, anime, no matter the blood, or the epic fights they show, always, somehow, they made it looks gay and for girls. Everything about Japan, except for Godzilla, Dragon Ball Z and the Samirais are for girls and gay.

I would prefer a mini series made by fans, a US series would be too "YAY! UNITED STATES!" and a japan anime would be too "Kawai".

truthfully im okay with another fighting game. i would have something similar to dragon ball z tenkaichi. large roster of characters, unlockable moves and abilities, monster creator maybe. you would be basically be realiving famous movie battles but maybe with different points of view. for example you could play as destroyah until a cut scene arrives and you have to fight godzilla jr, win, and then you would play as meltdown godzilla afterwards

I really like how they're keeping Godzilla's spiney back kind of subtle... The spikes are definitely there, but they didn't go overboard on them at all.  Keeps the attention on his overall mass.  Very clever.

remember the king kong video game? both humans and the creature were playable. i thinck if you mixed that game, with mecha rodans idea, the classic Godzilla brawler gmes, and maybe an mmo, it would be simply mind blowing!

any cartoon of the new godzilla would be cool, it's not just limited to Anime.

May be king of zombie didnt know so much about anime as i am..But seriously,it would be graat,maybe not anime,but an american serious cartoon like batman : dark knight returns? HELL YEAH!

i'm pretty sure and really hoping that those are not gills at the base of his neck, just scales. the reason i hope that they are not is because that would really limit godzilla, in the old movies he could even survive in space( this is not unheard of in reality by the way, tiny creatures commonly known as water bears can survive in the vacum of space)! Godzilla has never had the biology of a normal animal. I know some would say that realism in the new movie would require something like gills, but i don'y thinck gareth wants to make the monster himself overly realistic, he is mainly going to make the human reaction/response realistic. In any case, realism would not allow godzilla to have gills, because he is a dinosaur, a reptile. to me, it looks like ovrelapping armor on his neck that makes it both tough and flexible, not gills . they look a bit thick for gills and we already know that this Godzilla will be heavily armored. as for the rest of the design, i love it, it has its own modern style, but it still is the old godzilla that we all know and love.

NO!! JUST NO!! I love pacific rim also,and i dont want those jaegers rripped apart easily like a tin can and evaporated by the KING! and i also didnt want to see a violent act where godzilla destroying every kaiju..Kaiju in pacific rim can be destroyed very easily..even Cat 5 kaiju

Well. They marketed the '98 film through every way possible fairly early on & hyped it to pretty much boiling point! And I think we all know what happened after that don't we? And yet all it's officially taken so far for fans to get to get majorly hyped and nursing Kaiju-sized hard ons is one trailer and a few choice words from the director & cast. Says a lot doesn't it?

I gotta say, I'd be lying if I wasn't really letdown by the final look of Godzilla.

Hear me out, this is based on my love for the original Godzilla design and just this series of photos alone.

He is way way too fat. Sure it may not be fat, I can imagine it's all muscle or what have you, but he looks way too fat to me. His neck is practically nonexistent and his arms look way way too small. His fingers and feet don't match up with the angular sharp design of the spines/tail. The only thing I really really like are the spines and his face, that's really about it. The roar (From the teaser, mind you) feels and sounds way too high pitched. I'm not gonna say it's bad, it's not by any means a bad design (cough Zilla cough) but I'm really underwhelmed. When I heard they were "Going back to his roots" I assumed it'd look a bit more like the 54 design, but it seems they only applied that to his face.

I gotta admit, i didn't like the new Godzilla design at first but it's really growing on me. 

The Mutos photo in the background isnt the whole set guys..

i wouldnt say that. it could be a very good idea if executed properly. i would love to see an anime or just a cartoon in general. if there is one id like it to be a mature one with blood, violence, drama, and good acting

could be aliens. maybe those werent sink holes. maybe they were craters from an astroid impact. it might be also possible that they werent even like this when they came and they were mutated afterwards somewhat like orga. just a theory

To everyone arguing about Godzilla, the 1998 version was crap, and it gave away too much in the trailer of what he would be doing for the entire film which was  Stomp around and run away from everything. At least for the 2014 trailer, yes they sky dived a bit long, but at least it showed the destructive power Godzilla has, and how frightening it would be if he were to be around today. 98 version was all action, fish feeding, french secret service, chasing Zilla around and man eating baby velocizilla's. no realism to his destructive force, no heart to his character, and no respect for his image. Godzilla 2014 is by far a Master Piece.

True - perhaps the vital organs are kept all in the head area? It looks like the head is fairly large in proportion to the legs. Could be like how many insects have most of their vital organs in the thorax. 

Whatever it is - it doesn't look like it's from this planet, which begs the question - is M.U.T.O in the Alien discovery and analysis business as well? I thought we wouldn't be seeing any Alien Monsters in this one, but we might be after all, because that thing doesn't look like any "natural" thing on Earth.

Either it's Alien, or spliced by genetic tampering and then mutated.

Godzilla is a force of nature and the son of the Atomic bomb which is something to fear. I grew up watching every Godzilla movie out there, and never did I feel fearful of him because he was always there to save the day, even when he was considered bad. The 1998 Godzilla trailer was confusing to me at first because i noticed the quick snap shots of godzilla and I wasn't sure if it was godzilla or not. I also didn't see a lot of destruction which at the time assumed they were saving until the film came out. But I was very dissapointed and sad that it wasn't godzilla let alone killed him in the end, and he was small.  As for Godzilla 2014, the tone was dark and realistic. it really showed the true nature of things of how it would be if Godzilla was real. Like I said before. I never was afraid of him, but after watching only the trailer, I now  fear  him.  There is no stopping what can't be stopped, No killing what can't be killed. He is a walking plague, He is the bringer of death. He is the King of monsters and I hope he murderlizes everything in his path, and I hope they play his triumphant theme.

If i would have a new godzilla game i would want one that was kind of like an RTS.

Perhaps sending units to simply hold off monsters until they got bored or thought the city was worth too much trouble and hten also fighting off smalller human sized monsters sometimes to secure areas.

The game would consist of mostly phyric victories, countles civilians and military units falling aroudn the world jsut to buy more time for soemthig at the end of the game to at the least injure the giants.

I dont know i want somethign like that but im afriad i dont know how to properly describe it.

The '98 trailer conveyed one thing at the time for me, and still does after watching it; by teasing it's design too much they clearly showed that they had relied WAY too much on Zilla carrying the film, and basically had the rest shat out of a monster movie generator just to fill in the gaps. Very apt indeed that this film was later famously dubbed as "GINO", because if it hadn't bared the name of Godzilla, it would have been much more positively accepted as what it truly is; a fair-to-middle monster flick.

As for the '14 trailer...well without going into a major caps lock-fuelled nerdgasm, I feel it basically tells us "OK, so here's enough of Godzilla for you to see he's been designed right. But he's actually in a Godzilla film this time. And boy, do we have a treat for you!".

In short; Holy s**t I can't wait 'til May :) :) :)

Ok Guys! I have putted the pices of the "background MUTO" together and maybie this is a bit like MUTO is going to look like:

Chalk and cheese, its hard to separate the 1998 trailer from the mess that was the final movie, but in isolation the trailer is effective, by not showing the creature they hoped to build interest - but as the film proved, it was a mystery that ended up being wholly misplaced.

The 2014 trailer seems to be trying to set a different tone almost by design, as if to distance itself from the 1998 movie. The slow build up and sparse soundtrack create a sense of dread. Is there too much Godzilla or not enough? I think they struck the right balance, the tease during the HALO sequence hopefully surpises those unware that it's the Godzilla trailer. The big reveal at the end is just enough to assure the fans that this time they're getting a proper Godzilla rather than some half-arsed "reinvention".

The 1998 trailer is better than final film derserved. The 2014 trailer is better than the whole 1998 film!
