fact is, no one is sure what animal leviathan really is or was, so im just saying that legendary could play off that a bit
There is no Analogy to be made between the Bible & Godzilla. As we know Godzilla is fiction & the story is Godzilla is a gigantic mutant dinosaur, transformed from the fallout of an atomic bomb test.
Godzilla's appearance has changed between films over the years, but many defining details have endured. In the Japanese films, Godzilla is depicted as a gigantic dinosaur with rough, bumpy (usually) charcoal gray scales, a long powerful tail, and bone colored dorsal plates (called scutes), shaped like maple leaves. His origins vary somewhat from film to film, but he is almost always described as a prehistoric creature, and his first attacks on Japan are linked to the beginning of the Atomic Age. In particular, mutation due to atomic radiation is presented as an explanation for his great size and strange powers. Godzilla's iconic design is composed of a mixture of various species of dinosaurs; specifically, he has the body and overall shape of an old model of a Tyrannosaurus Rex, the long arms of an Iguanodon, and the dorsal plates of a Stegosaurus.
I think such correlations with this Godzilla actually make quite a bit of sense from a historical perspective. This Godzila, being the largest one to date, is also likely the oldest, having lived for several millions of years of radioactive development, and thus perhaps these particular legends where a similar creature is described could be attributed to him emerging during these particular times from hibernation, and could also explain why he isn't constantly seen. It's said that Leviathan was the largest living creature in existance, one of the major elements of existance itself, and this new Legendary Godzilla appears to fit this bill quite well.
My favorites are Godzilla from Godzilla Against MechaGodzilla, and Kiryu with the battle armor.
Godzilla 54, Terror of Mechagodzilla design, and 84 Godzilla are my favourites.
I'm perfectly fine with that...my only issue is when they start taking his abilities away for realism... I mean in 1954 they didn't explain his nuclear breath at all...not even the military...and it worked fantastic
Nowdays the movies has been becoming into more descriptive, maybe we will hear some theory about whats causing Godzilla's atomic breath or things like that, but I would like this movie keeping all those things as a mistery instead be digging in scientist facts of the big G.
well done with the theory GFAN4.
In the 1954 movie they said the Jurassic period was only 2 million years old (and that Godzilla was too).
THEGMAN, that was acyually implied in g54, remember the trilobite in the foot print. while trilobites are of course waaaayyy older than dinosaurs the idea was definetly to show godzilla as having existed for many millions of years.
also, wouldn't it be cool if godzillas existence explained myths and legends like sea serpents and such?
Its really good idea just sounds like the original story plot from 1954
godzilla should be ancient with some mystery about his true oigin( pherhaps something having to do with the KT event), but it should be things like nuclear tests that bring the monster out.
1. Heisei Godzilla....2. Gojira... 3. Anguirus from 1955... 4.showa ghidorah.... 5.mechagodzilla two
1.g54, 2.g85,3. destroyah final form, 4.mecha-g2,5. for some reason titanosaur
Hi Joshua :) , I really would read your articles here instead go to read them in another site, what about to do a brief description or a resume of the articles and keep mentioning them at the end of your threads.
Thanks.
Burning Godzilla...Godzilla 2000....Godzilla final wars...gojira....or anguirus from raids again
I don't think he should die until a new series or lack of fans.....I mean kill him instantly on a new movie would tip the crap scale.
the gmk godzilla toys, they have less of a beer belly look and a thicker neck. plus the eyes are just awesome and scary looking on the gmk godzilla. he also looks like like the classic godzilla but with subtle modern touches.
if godzilla does do something like the meltdown from g vs destroyah then i think it should be some kind of cycle instead of him dying. so something that happens maybe once every 25 years or something along those lines.
That is true...just massive radioactivity
Ray I agree with you on this... like I said before...when you worry to much bout shattering the boundaries of realism it's stupid because a giant dinosaur is stomping around
The theories about Godzilla's atomic breath are interesting, but I wouldn't take the whole realistic take on Godzilla too literally. I think that Gareth is coming from a viewpoint of how we would react in real life if a Godzilla and other monsters actually appear. I still think you're going to see the atomic breath on full display. Zach Snyder, who directed Man of Steel, talked a lot about how he was taking a realistic approach to Superman, yet we still got plenty of sci-fi elements and special effects. You saw Superman use most of his powers including his eye beam in the film. I think that Gareth will be using that same approach.
nuclear meltdowns at power plants do not cause nuclear explosians
it should basically be the concentrated power of the largest nuclear bombs and should vaporize most things, while causing nearby objects to combust and explode. i don't think it would be a good idea to go too much into detail about just how it works in the movie, it would really just end up pointing out how far fetched it is and make it less belivable. what should be belivable is the destruction it causes. it should decimate everything it touches, destroy whatever is close, and ruin that area with high levels of radiation.
also if you really wanted extreme realism for his breath, it could basically be something like what the bombadier beetle has. of course i would rather see his actual atomic breath and i don't think/ want that the beetle thing will ever be used.
I mean my only problem is that the heisei and millennium series had him attracted to nuclear plants like a moth to flame...I mean it's ok twice but cranking it out in every movie got ridiculous to me....I just hope the nuclear breath is not a burst of fire like zilla's
The thing is that already happened in one of the movies and too just kill off the monster would be ridiculous
Actually a lot of the movies were rated R and unrated when they were released on DVD
My top five are. #5 GAMERA #4 KING KONG (from King Kong vs. Godzilla) #3 the Gargantuas #2Rodan(THE ORIGINAL) #1 GODZILLA of course. Anguirus gets a honorable mention as well.
IF this is true, I hope the aquatic monster is not a crab or some weird fish. Wouldn't it be awesome if it was some sort of serpent? If so, I hope it is as big as Godzilla.
The problem with R is that you cut out a huge amount of your audience. In the end, the goal of movie making is to make money. They can't do that with only a small percentage of the populace able to see the movie. So, PG-13 is more likely.
PS- I just can't see Godzilla getting past PG-13. Don't know why, it just doesn't seem possible.
That is very interesting. It would make a good plot twist.
my fave is Gozilla vs destroyah and then godzilla 2000 i didnt like final wars
That sound very believable and realistic.
I'm thinking that such a large Godzilla as big as the one we'll be seeing couldn't have possibly been made by the Fukushima incident alone. I don't remember where, but I think it's been said that this Godzilla will be awoken from several eons of hibernation or something like that. I also personally believe that this Godzilla was created long before humans even existed, and has had time to grow, absorb natural radiation, and rest for long periods, and that nuclear accident in 2011 was simply the latest wake-up call for his routine awakening and search of radioactive sources to feed on, and he just happens to find humans being assholes and new monster running amok.
he might have a nuclear meltdown at the end of the series and as far as nuclear explosion i think that is the atomic bomb in the movie.
Burning godzilla was so radiation omnipotent that he could destroy the entire earth! heck no other godzilla was able to be powerful enough to do that! Think about the whole concept that if he angered himself enough and his temperature pinnacled he would explode and not one soul would survive!
how could any one pick any other godzilla?
good theory but what about him regenerating from a nuclear reactor?
