GODZILLA HIMSELF
MemberMothra LarvaeDec-29-2013 1:41 PMi had this idea that ties somewhat into godzillas origins. assuming that godzilla is an ancient and mysterious creature(pherhaps created by something involved with the KT event that killed of non avian dinosaurs) that was later aawaken by humans via nuclear tests, pollution, etc.well then he may have influenced human culture and history. pherhaps godzilla could be used to explain myths and legends such as sea serpents, monsters and titans. i was even thinking about leviathan in the bible, i regard the bible as complete truth with no myth by the way, and i personally think that leviathan refers to a mosasaur or pherhaps a pliasoaur, anyways i was thinking that godzilla could be the mighty creature from the ocean describe in the book of Job. so what do you think, what else might godzilla be compared to , and do you think that the new movie could touch upon this in some way, like the origional did with the legends of ohto island?

MemberTitanosaurusDec-29-2013 3:12 PMI think such correlations with this Godzilla actually make quite a bit of sense from a historical perspective. This Godzila, being the largest one to date, is also likely the oldest, having lived for several millions of years of radioactive development, and thus perhaps these particular legends where a similar creature is described could be attributed to him emerging during these particular times from hibernation, and could also explain why he isn't constantly seen. It's said that Leviathan was the largest living creature in existance, one of the major elements of existance itself, and this new Legendary Godzilla appears to fit this bill quite well.

MemberMothra LarvaeDec-29-2013 3:14 PMThere is no Analogy to be made between the Bible & Godzilla. As we know Godzilla is fiction & the story is Godzilla is a gigantic mutant dinosaur, transformed from the fallout of an atomic bomb test.
Godzilla's appearance has changed between films over the years, but many defining details have endured. In the Japanese films, Godzilla is depicted as a gigantic dinosaur with rough, bumpy (usually) charcoal gray scales, a long powerful tail, and bone colored dorsal plates (called scutes), shaped like maple leaves. His origins vary somewhat from film to film, but he is almost always described as a prehistoric creature, and his first attacks on Japan are linked to the beginning of the Atomic Age. In particular, mutation due to atomic radiation is presented as an explanation for his great size and strange powers. Godzilla's iconic design is composed of a mixture of various species of dinosaurs; specifically, he has the body and overall shape of an old model of a Tyrannosaurus Rex, the long arms of an Iguanodon, and the dorsal plates of a Stegosaurus.

MemberMothra LarvaeDec-29-2013 9:26 PMIt matters doggiezilla....if you take a line from a piece of it about judgment day or destruction they could pull it off...but leviathan was a monster only God can kill...so that would be difficult to use...and Godzilla and bible don't mix in my opinion

GODZILLA HIMSELF
MemberMothra LarvaeDec-29-2013 10:41 PMim not talking about the mention in isaiah, that was clearly symbolic, im refering to the ANIMAL described in job with that same name. i agree that nothing religous should be in this movie. what i am trying to say is what if he gets compared to it, for example, leviathan as a codename. i apologize if some have misunderstood my post, ill admit that im a bit confusing sometimes. anyways, what do you think about the myths, sea serpents, and legends part?
