@DINOBOY22 i see your point but g2000 was really rushed and unplanned, but they rushed it too fast. thats why i say the sony version is superior than to the japanese version. so they better not rush a toho movie if this movie fails as well.
well im worried too but look at the bright side. toho may have a back up plan. godzilla 2000 was there back up for g98
Whatever the outcome, there's NO WAY it could be worse than that 1998 crap.
I want either the GMK version or 1954 version or the ones you said.
@ GODZILLA1990'SRULES - Your math is off by a substantial margin my friend, and you should probably make sure you double check your work before posting such things again.
Even the best movies in the world have never made anywhere close to 667,560,763,102.
Just so you understand the mistake you've made, your number is six hundred and sixty seven billion five hundred and sixty million seven hundred and sixty three thousand and one hundred and two dollars.
This movie will NEVER reach 667,560,763,102 for any reason at any time. You really should double check your work next time. No movie or movie franchise has ever come anywhere close to that amount of money.
Now, about the topic of this thread.
I am a little worried about the movie not doing as well as we hope it will, but I have a strong suspicion that the hype alone will at least help the movie break even within the first week or two. That's a worst case scenario in my opinion. At best, I think the movie will do fantastic and fans will spread the word faster than the plague and the movie will go on to gross somewhere in the neighborhood of $700,000,000 - $850,000,000. I'd be ecstatic if the numbers reach such a level such as that after a month or two in theaters.
That's my hope anyway. I have no idea how it's going to do in theaters, but as a true G fan I sincerely hope it does well both with fans and at the box office.
There's definitely a reason to be nervous. This is the director's second film, the story is brought to us from the mind of The Expendables 1, 2, 3, and 4, and this is the screen writer's third film. Warner Brothers, because of their big breakup with Legendary, isn't putting in the promotional money into this movie that it requires.
However, all of these people are humongous Godzilla fans, and I know they're going to do their best to do it right.
For right now, we can only hope for the best.
New York all the way, time to show the New Yorkers that killed zilla.
That they cannot kill the real Godzilla.
Damn I just wrote a Novel.
I Think of it all the time.
Generally for me Idk because till this day due to the marketing some people still have not heard about it yet.
but for those who have heard about it Ive been hearing 90% good feedback for the film,
so for me, my opinion if the marketing stays like this till the films release I have a small feeling it will flop.
but if the marketing starts on FEB or MARCH 3 or 2 months before the films release when many people are attrackted then I believe the movie will possibly make over 400 million.
because the last film from 1998 did make almost 400 million at the Box Office even though It wasnt really a Godzilla film.
Plus we Godzilla fans can support the film ourselves by just watching it in the theater again and again, I have already planned to watch it 5 time myself and after that Ill be watching the film twice every month that follows.
and will it suck more than Godzilla 1998? I highly doubt it. This movie is being made by Legendary and WB the companies that made highly successfull films.
Like the Dark Knight trilogy,Man of Steel,The Hangover and Inception.
and for Pacific Rim a brand new Kaiju film thats not based on a previous source, made 400 million at the BO despite its poor marketing.
Dude it ok theirs alot of merch and all that money will go to the makers of the movie and adds up so lets say the just got out in theaters and we have 100,000 dollars for the movie it self and so far and $10,000 in merch and 1 month later 100,000,000 dollars for the movie and 100,000 for merch and so on thats alot of money and thenn the whole world sees it thats about 667,560,763,102 and multiply that by 5 or 10 dollars thats alot of money but what i think the money all together in real life $300,000,000 that if we G fan go to the movie
@Daikaiju_Danielle
Yes the sign is still there.
@MikeyNamez
Maybe, is it in Burbank? Cause that's where the sign is, right in front of Burbank High School.
And plus S.H.M.A might release it like in june or july and we dont have any promo pics and NECA Said it yesterday and being released may but they are going to be the same hight and same abilitys and maybe will have a effect piece but we know S.H.M.A will put a effect piece for sure but i will maybe get both idk
Kaijusurus I have seen the article for a long time now but good find
@DURATOK
S.H. MonsterArts are more fragile than NECA figures. S.H. are too overpriced for what they are and they are so fragile. King Ghidorah is so fragile I can't even pick it up to move it somewhere else.
This comes down to quality vs savings. While NECA figures are nicely detailed and articulated for the price, the figures and joints tend to be fragile. MonsterArts can be pretty pricy, around $50-80, but they're photorealistic to what you see in the film, and they're wonderfully articulated.
I plan on getting a NECA figure for my desk at work, and a MonsterArts figure for my home.
what does a NECA toy include, im not fimiliar on what their toys are like
LETS JUST HOPE IT COMES WITH A BREATH EFFECT AND TOYS R US TOO AND LIKE A TOYS R US EXCUSVIE GODZILLA VS MUTO AND COMES WITH EFFECT PARTS FOR THEM
I saw somebody on reddit godzilla posted that they were doing reshoots in his area and posted this pic. Not sure if this is where your at or not or if that was even true.
Is the sign still there? :O
Las Vegas and Miami because I've never seen that before.
las vegas or/and hollywood, anouther japanese city, a chinese city near a nuclear power plant. if he ever gets to atlanic then london, somewhere in russia and hamberg germany, would be interesting. 'if' this godzilla goes after nuclear plants as well then i see no reason he shouln't attack places like china and russia.
well in the end of GvsD godzilla does win in a sense, his son is resserrected and will continue his farther's legecy. although i'd wished godzilla was the one to kill destroyah instead of the humans.

Luckily, we've got Chris and you can contact him here @ info@scified.com or me @ freeze@scified.com.
Las vegas and Miami would be interesting, but personally, I´d love to see him destroying the vatican city, just when it is full of fanatics...
Godzilla is the only god, any other "god" is an imposter.
I say Viva Las Vegas. For me that would be fun to be destroyed.
@METALJAZZFUNK yes this is the one i wanted to talk about! i forgot its name and your name, thank you for reminding me
@True American Godzilla- a footprint could be considered an autograph....
@Akagi- GIANT NOVELTY PEN FTW!!!!
it really depends on the owner itself, really.
Every youtube video I've flagged and reported has been taken down and/or accounts have been closed. So youtube is doing a good job.
It's websites other than youtube that I'm having trouble with. They almost never have such a button attached to them so it's hard to get them gone.
Idk about the Neca thing but about the Godzilla toy Im pretty sure if its official because the spines are too short, in the trailer they were much longer.
Hmm..
For all I know, you can "Flag" report those videos. However, it is hard for such things to get removed. YouTube only takes instant action when copyrights are being broken. It is hard to say. I've reported many things that I felt were false, yet nothing happens. I guess it is because YouTube is supported mainly by the public, since we are the one who uplaod. Although those videos are scams, they're not using REAL footage or images or anything related to the studio and production, so YouTube doesn't make the effort to delete them or the channels.
Cmon babeh bring me those figures!
None of the MUTOs are likely to be mollusks. The MUTO creatures identities are not confirmed or revealed in any way. The only details we know are that one of them is multi limbed, and the other has wings.
But what does that say?
Is one of them an insect, an arachnid (yes they are different), is it another kind of animal with a mutation that gives it multiple limbs, is it a seagoing creature? We don't know.
The one with wings. Is it a bat, a bird, an insect, a flying mammal? We don't know.
Nothing you've heard regarding the MUTOs "species" is confirmed or legitimate. Anything claiming confirmation of what the MUTOs are up to this point is pure bs and you should not pay any attention to it or give it any mind.
Nothing about the MUTOs "species" is confirmed yet. That's really the only hard fact we have right now.
Godzilla's height can be determined between around 350-450 due to modern American architecture.
During the Godzilla encounter, which didn't show the final appearance but it very likely showed the final height, Godzilla was shown to look into a window on the 35th floor with no trouble.
If he is that height, then by American architectural design he must be somewhere between 350-450 as those are the two relative heights in which hotels and office buildings respectively are built.
Even though I am taking the 350 ft height to heart for the moment, I also think it's a bit on the small side. I know for a fact Godzilla won't break 500 feet, contrary to popular opinion, but as far as 350 goes, the jury's out and I feel he's going to be a bit taller. Something like 380-400 would suit me fine, but it's just my guess because I'm not on Legendary's production team for this movie so I can't say anything with certainty. But that ridiculous height debate involving the 779'+ thing is pure bs, so don't listen to anyone who claims that is what he's going to be. They don't know what they're talking about.
Anyway, this is an interesting discussion so I guess I'll continue.
1 - Will we see a sea of fire?
Possibly. The trailer showed San Fran in fiery ruins, so that might count. If you're asking specifically if Godzilla will do what he does without setting the place ablaze and then set it ablze in one fiery display of power and superiority like in G2K, then I don't know, but I doubt it.
2 - It's highly unlikely that Godzilla will die, but we don't know anything yet about his fate.
3 - I gave my answer on his height already.
4 - It's unlikely that Akira Takarada will be playing Ogata or a relative of. Reason being is because this is not a remake, and using Dr. Serizawa is already a big risk on Legendary's part. I highly doubt they'll use Takarada as Ogata or a relative of Ogata. There's no logic to such a decision.
5 - Part of the movie is set in 1954, but not all of it.
6 - There's no way to know if Serizawa will die. If they have brought him back without touching on his Oxygen Destroyer from the original, then I doubt he'll die yet. He might, but I doubt it. If he does I won't be disappointed, but I don't see a reason to kill him off. That would just be ripping us off of our nostalgia. Some fans would love it, some would hate it. I'm in the latter because I think if they're going to revive a well known and beloved character they should keep him around for a while. Recreating the scenario of Serizawa dying would be contrived and somewhat irresponsible of Legendary in my opinion. Gareth knows better than that I hope.
Anyway, those are my thoughts.
@True American Godzilla
Easy, really big paper/pen.
