does rob have beef with godzilla-movies.com?
@Dinoboy22
Yeah, he is a little too humanoid, I will sketch a better one soon. :) This is just a basis.
wait a sec, its the weekend now! oooooh, this is gonna be goood!
"Mommy!" xDDD cool sketch
I can't choose just one but I do prefer Godzilla to look more Reptilian, so my favorite suit is from Tokyo SOS. I also admire Bio-Goji, Shodai-Goji, and King-Goji.
a little too humanoid in my opinion. pretty good anyway
I could see this being like Megaguirus.
I don't think he mean it because Mothra is less scary looking, if they make her more scary. I think it will be more like Magaguirus and Battra.
im going to do some research of my own on this topic to back you up.
Sigh... Yet another gaggle of overexcitement.
When he said it looked like Mothra, he was not being incredibly serious.
In fact I'm willing to bet if we were there to hear him talk he'd be saying it with disdain in his tone of voice as if he hated the resemblance. If it has wings and only two legs to walk on, how can it look like the Mothra we all know and love? Its body will have to change to accomodate its bipedal nature, and its resemblance will be extremely limited. If it does have Gigan-like hooks, how seriously can we take that when it's a 3-3.5 inch CHIBI figure. The whole point of being chibi is to distort the realistic proportions and make it look as silly as possible. Having a curved arm 'like Gigan' doesn't really tell us anything difinitive.
With that in mind, I'm not trusting what I'm reading at the moment to give me an idea of what's actually on the way.
This has been known almost since the beginning that Jim Rygiel was on board the project. If you didn't pay attention, that's your issue, but this is not news. It's been known for a LONG time now, well over a year and a half to two years now since 2012 when the first members of staff were revealed.
Please pay attention to detail before posting "news" like this again.
it sounded a lot like megaguirus, but with two legs and not one, in fact, it actually sounds a lot like a mix of destroyahs final form with the aggerate+ more bug like features on the face. in my opinion, any destroyah lookin thing, would be really cool.
u guys should watch frozen
Yes! Visual effects will look great if Jim Rygiel is the guy behind them :)
it reminds me of spaceballs they release it on dvd before the movie is finished LOL
I sincerely doubt the wings will be patterned in such a flamboyant way as that. Most moths have a very basic wing pattern that's more in the browns and darker colors, so I don't see how that translated into mothra wings. That aside, this looks pretty good and I can't wait to see artist renditions from people who've actually seen the toy at toyfair.
woooowwwww i really cant wait now thanks chris
i dont see how i overlooked this, sorry but this is terrific news and i think ill go ahead an pre order mine
I pictured diferent the claws, but is a really good drawing of the description , thanks ananasatom, is cute and scary.
XD thanks Joshua, happy Valentine day to you too. ^-^
Looks like Mothra, jagged wings like Battra, claws like Gigan, back legs/grabbers look like the end of Destoroyah's tail, and it has the facial structure if Megalon. But I love the variety.
It looks creepy, but in a good way. This might be an extremly accurate speculation piece. Good job!
I think its one monster that takes on multiple forms like HEDORA or DISTROYAH but based on evolution..........if that makes sense or forms based on land, sea and air.
@Gojira 2014; I don't think Jazmyne was talking to you and this thread isn't directed at you. :)
Perhaps there needs to be a more efficient way to respond to people so misunderstandings like this in replies don't happen. :/
he said that the head was moth/ fly like, that could be a lot of bugs, the hooked arms make me think something along the lines of gigan+a mantis+maybe megaguirus. i doubt it actually looks much like mothra. i don't think legendary would put a colorful giant butterfly thing into a dark and gritty movie.
haha, looks like the other figures are all staring out at the scource of the shadow like, HOLY CRAP!
Very interesting... Didn't something come up a little while back about the MUTOs being homage monsters? If the winged muto is described as being Mothra like, with Gigan weaponary, perhaps the Eight Legged Muto is a combination of Kamacuras and Kumonga?
For a while I've been throwing around the idea in my head that the MUTOs change somehow, thanks to the radiation... It would be awesome if, like in Pacific Rim, one of the MUTOs reveals a secret weapon like ability, as Otachi did :}
so... the winged muto is a hybrid between Mothra and Gigan?
Cool! not what I was hoping, but cool anyway.
These are the main points from the article linked:
- Three items were on display but seemed still in the prototype stages as most were grey in color. The three items were:
Godzilla Chibis
Godzilla Destruction Pack with Winged MUTO Monster - Includes: 1 figure, 1 destructible building, 1 military aircraft
Godzilla Deluxe Attack and Roar Figure - With collector level detailing this large scale figure brings Godzilla to life as he blasts his powerful atomic breath and lets out his iconic trademarked roar. - Thorsten was not impressed. He initially describes the Destruction Pack as having "a little fat dino..but it looks like there is Mothra in the movie too." Actually his initial statement was "Terrible." He used the phrase "cheap plastic" many times.
- Viewed were some bridges, skyscrapers and houses "with parts to destroy".
- The "Winged MUTO Monster is described as having two legs and wings. Looks a bit like a moth. The head in particular was somewhere between a moth and a fly in appearance. The creature had claws like the classic Godzilla monster Gigan (meaning hooks).
- Thorsten could not give much more detail as the monster pieces were very small, in the 3 to 3.5 inch range. (Estimated)
- Compared to this small size, I suppose the Deluxe Attack and Roar Godzilla WOULD come off as "large scale". We are told this figure is 7 inches tops, but definitely no bigger.
- Deluxe Godzilla's action feature is a blue flame effect that pops out of his mouth and lights up. This figure also roars. I asked if it made the classic sound to see if they just had a place holder sound effect in the toy and was told this was the new roar. As we were also not allowed any recording devices, we can't even play that for you. WOULDN'T YOU LIKE TO BE INSIDE OF THORSTEN'S HEAD RIGHT NOW!!
Sounds neat for sure! Will work on a front page story for this.
Thanks for the link and the news!
Beyond thrilled to know that this was a success! :) Thank you to everyone who helped spread the word.
I don't care what you say, I'm not switching over to Dish... XD
Thanks Joshua. That's really nice of you. Seriously that's really awesome. :)

Awesome! This will definetley get the site out of the rut it's been in. Sweet info, Chris.
