i'm pretty sure there are homages of toho monsters, which is a safer optiona nd the next best thing. also there is supposed to be a 'surprise' in the movie according to those who went to see the 20mins screening in the uk
It is unlikely that Toho monsters will be in the film. HOWEVER, it is NOT impossible. All of the rumors that their won't be stem from Toho retaining rights. However, Toho IS helping to distribute the movie, not to mention in interviews Edwards said he would like to have other Toho monsters in the film along with originals AND wouldn't confirm or deny the presence of other Toho monsters. So they COULD be in there and it COULD be Rodan. If Ghidorah is in this I would be very surprised

In theater? Probobly once... in IMAX 3D. But I probably won't go back in theaters due to how much it costs. Then watch it again and again on Netflix or a TV channel.

I've gotten that info from comments from previous posts, and it's almost clear that no other TOHO monsters will be in it, there might be references but not the actual thing.

Where does this info come from? I've heard many fans make this assertion that there definitely wouldn't be any classic Toho monsters, but I've never heard anything along those lines from anyone actually involved with the film.
Pretty durpy looking figure, but this is marketed to the younger fans instead of the collectors, so it makes sense. We've always known his atomic breath would be blue, but it's nice to see it incorporated in some form.
What I find hilarious is that some fans are taking this toy as a literal representation of the movie. They actually think because Godzilla's upper jaw almost comes off on the toy, and that the toy bends over to fire the ray, means the exact same thing will happen in the movie.

i guess that full promotional godzilla with the body was the legit thing in that brazil expo, also again this is a toy for kids, you can just tell so of course it's not going to look good.

Either way, gills or not, I also don't see him being slowed down anytime soon beyond a giant MUTO attack. As I've said earlier, you can get a creature that size without breaking the laws of physics, can give it exotic abilities without breaking the laws of physics, and even create ways for it to swim and remain not sinking into the ground all the time given its proportions and size without breaking the laws of physics, but relying on air is one problem that can't be solved by way of any real means, so just lower the importance of the substance through self-sufficiency in other bodily regards.
I'm not saying air isn't important, and is likely an important part of specific bodily processes, perhaps even the famed atomic breath's creation, but with a creature that size, you can't rely on it as urgently as a normal creature.
Therefore, I propose that if he does happen to have gills, it's simply a remnant of a past life that continued to evolve (in a nuclear fashion of course!) with Godzilla, and is a way to get some extra oxygen from water without needing to surface to breathe, but it's only a supplementary need for oxygen from any source, and not an urgent life-threatening one.

I remember seeing an artist on deviantART do their own take on the outline of the flying MUTO creature, and to them, they thought it looked more like the Giant Condor. Yes, THAT Giant Freaking Condor!

To anyone thinking that's its Rodan, mothra, Ghidorah. Here are no TOHO monsters in it, from the first monster besides Godzilla: Anguirus to the last: Kaizer Ghidorah, none of them are in godzilla 2014.
I wouldn't worry about it, I pre-ordered both classic Godzilla figures through bigbadtoystore and when they emailed me on the cancellation of the 1985 figure, they said it was just being pulled from listing. It's still going to be released, but at a later date as it was never actually formally announced. So basically just keep an eye on websites for when they start re-listing the 1985 figure.
But that's just my idea. The Mutos will attack anything in their sight, and godzilla is a BIG target.

Seriously, why does every toy leak we've been seeing, like 4 so far, have made godzilla look like utter shit? I mean not even "an ok figure" but crap figures? Are we really going to just look forward to this crap and then have to shelve out $100+ dollars just for the good neca figure?
