A question for the Gill Haters

Why are gills on Godzilla a bad thing? How do they impede him in anyway? How do they make him less than 'all powerful'? Why is it silly? Why does it not work?
Please, explain this to me. Really sell it to me. I wanna know in detail why you don't want him to have gills, why the gills are bad. Really give it to me. This page is not for debate of whether or not he has gills or not-- I'm fairly certain those are gills but I seriously am tired of that argument of what they are-- I wanna know WHY gills suck? I mean-- really tell me.
I'll start my rebutal early-- so everyone can see it before they post reptitive stuff.
First of all-- there are many different amphibians out there that have external gills and lungs. This means they are capable of exiting outside of water for prolonged periods of time. So Godzilla having gills does not mean he can only stay out of water for short periods of time-- that point is debunked. It doesn't make weaker. He can survive on land and in water by going on this principal.
Secondly-- as for the original Godzilla being able to survive within the vaccuum of space by not requiring oxygen... really? This is a problem? You're afraid the new Godzilla might require oxygen and that it might some how make him weak? Do you really think this Godzilla is going to fight in space--EVER? Then why not get rid of his nostrils then... oh wait, old Godzilla doesn't need to EAT either, so lets get rid of his mouth. Lets just get rid of all non-essential things in the guise of making him more badass? I mean, obviously something like gills would impede him, not allow a logical explenation as to why he could ya know, survive under water for years at a time-- no, lets get rid of them because someone wants him to be an all powerful non-breathing monster...? Seriously? I mean... c'mon
So outside of those points... how does Godzilla having gills impede him? Tell me-- I want to know.
