Closed because it has a missleading title? Like 90 percent of the other topics on here? Or the original topic that claimed that the image source for this was real? Those weren't closed-- why should this? Its all in good fun.
I don't really care about the whole gill debate. Its just that I can't go on this site without seing a topic about godzilla's gills. Its so annoying. So since this topic keeps popping up so much I dicided to play my part in this debate. I personally don't give to ****s about the whole debate. I just hope that the gill debates stop soon.
This disscusion has to be closed like forreal -.- no news here!
@Godzillaswrath
Hilarious. Guess what, that Amazing Spiderman figure was leaked online long before the film was finished with its post production! IN-FACT! IT was the first reveal of the final Lizard design. So your point is moot and mine still stands. You could probably find the toylogs from 4chan to prove it, if you were so diligent.
FUN-FACT: Most movie tie-in toys are designed, packaged, and shipped about 2 and a half months before the film actually premiers. This means that most movie tie-in toys are developed coiciding the film. This includes all thes illy superman toys where he is in a weird mech-armor, weapnoizing motorcycles, and having stretchy arms... and as we all know... that never happened during the film... Best part is, those toys were revealed or even AVAILABLE for purchase online or at stores weeks before the film permiered.
If I were half as brash or rude as you're being right now, I guess I would be a smartass, but I'm not. Just proving a point. You're just angry because you didn't see what you wanted to see. This is more of a public service announcement than an attempt at being a asshole. So far, the only person being jerkish... well isn't me.
HAHAHA, I love that pokemon image!
Can you make one with nicolcolas cage
face in it? that would be awesome!
Well if the monster has a nuclear reactor in him that keeps him alive, he could, in theory, live forever. We have no idea what the half-life is of Godzilla's nuclear makeup, it could be millions, even billions of years old.
There are many creatures that are genetically immortal, lobsters for instance.
But-- to say Godzilla being precambrian is silly is pretty brash-- the entire concept of Godzilla is silly. I bring up precambrian because we know almost nothing about it and what little fossil evidence we have from such an era is shrouded vagueness and mystery. We know more about the Moon than we know about the precambrian era. It really is one of the great mysteries of our planet's developement.
Adding to that, if the Godzilla species existed millions of years before even dinosaurs-- well that'd explain where almost no fossil evidence exists. Precambrian era was harsh, very harsh. Almost nothing survived in the way of fossils.
As for Godzilla being a mutation of a modern animal-- well the trailer pretty much confirms that isn't the case. I'm fairly certain godzilla isn't a dinosaur or any kind of known animal in this new film.
ya know, there is no point or reason to make a discussion just to make a smart ass remark just to prove your point. alot of people on here want to see discussions that have IMPORTANT info for the new movie. and to your point saying " ...that just because there is a toy of something, doesn't mean it will be in the movie" there has been NO movie i've heard of that has done that. the picture of the amazing spiderman toy you posted, i garantee you was made AFTER the movie so that kids had more things to do with the figures. Beetlejuice did the same thing, making toys and accesories AFTER the movie was released. even things that the characters never even did in the movie. so please if you have ACTUAL info on the movie, post it. otherwise just make it a comment or something, not a discussion.
@kaijurock
I'd be offended more if you used commas and punctuation-- I can hardly read what you said. I mean that in the nicest way possible... communication is key on the internet..
I wouldn't be laughing if he fougth the centipede monster (Stop calling it the weird name some troll on here referred to it as) I'll be happy. I for one wanted the damn thing to be in the movie-- but with its replacement at the second Comic-con trailer showing-- I'm going to say I'm %99 percent sure he wont be in there at all.
@RF
There is no source. They are obviously faked. I'm researching the matter as we speak.
the only reason i thought this was real was because the email i got was attached to official pictures which you CAN find on this site, i mean i don't want to look like the infamous guesscheck32 g14 supertroll which made this site look unreliable, so if its fake- fine but if the king of the monsters fights a centipede im gonna laugh harder than when i saw king kong shove a tree down mosugojis mouth, EAT YOUR VEGETABLES !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! im of course talking to you akagi
i just can't wait till the movie comes out
I've already emailed bandai about the potential figures. I'll be waiting patiently for them to confirm their falsehood. Until then, enjoy your wishful thinking.
A quick google search of said images turns up no results-- which is a sign that these originate from a non-news oriented website and more or less were something created and then spread by a fan. But no one is going to believe me until I have the email from Bandai-- and even then I think the wishful thinking will still cloud everyone's common sense.
Fair enough. Your image was released with a Godzilla silhouette and another one. This:

This image isn't official. It was taken from a fan's deviant art page and matches it exactly. If this one is fake, it's likely the same person made the other two.
Also, you should really take note of the bad grammar at the top of the picture. It should've tipped you off immediately: "Coming to toy store near you" is pretty awful for a professional company. It should be, "Coming to a toy store near you."
@Gojira2k
Embargo doesn't stop leakers.
Nintendo tried VERY hard to keep leakers from releasing the new Pokemon designs from the new X and Y game (Which-- they did because they wanted to sell 'reveal rights' to magazines and websites) but stores had gotten the game nearly a month in advance and many started selling copies early.
It happens.
cool but...........
(this is my opinion).....I think the wing M.U.T.O. (just like what we saw in the recent trailer)is gonna have those gigan claws at the tip of the wings that every1 is debating about, OR it's gonna be the claws on the spider like M.U.T.O.
Just saying though (i'm probably wrong though but who knows).
@Gojira2K
Some of the Godzilla toys have already started shipping to stores. It's possible this one got knabbed in the shuffle. Happens all the time.

@RF - If those aren't gills, then what are they?
show me your proof and ill believe you
I'm expecting three different types of monsters, although there may be multiples of each (think about MUTOs being bred to fight Godzilla)
1. "Talaghan" - the centipede critter
2. The flying MUTO we see briefly in the trailer
3. A arthropodish MUTO whose legs we see in the trailer. Lots of possibilities... could be a crab, a spider, etc
@Kaijusrock
The image was pretty much confirmed fake earlier today.
You can't just selectively apply science like that. Oh, Godzilla is a massively and impossibly sized creature that can survive nuclear blasts, but he HAS to have gills to survive underwater for long periods of time?
akagi- turokswe 2.0
Once in 2D and if I really watch it then I will watch it again in 3D.
Agreed. Definitely gills.
I've seen the same images and they don't look like gills to me.
anything you can do i can do betteeerrr!!!!!!!!!! https://plus.google.com/u/0/106801522076887307545/posts
That's definitely interesting, but we should be careful about reading too much into what's on the back of a toy package. It could have been added there by a graphic designer for looks, not because that's how it is in the movie.
Angzilla
Considering everyone that reported back from Comic-con said that the centipede monster was not present in the trailer, that it was the same footage but with a different, spiderlike creature. Don't believe me, look it up. Some are even on this here site. Why should I have to prove something that you missed?
It was everywhere right after comic-con, its been said a thousand times. But I guess that doesn't matter.
Also, that toy image is fake as hell. I follow countless toy blogs, particularly ones surrounding Bandai. This isn't how bandai presents figures. This is incredibly amatuerish-- it almost looks like it was made on Microsoft paint. But whatever-- I'll be right here waiting to give you a glass of water when you're eating crow.
Ok I added the image.:D
@Akagi - If you're gonna make a claim like "the centipede monster that appeared in the trailer that was shown at SDCC will not appear in the movie", the least you could do is back it up with proof, such as any statements that Gareth Edwards or anyone else in the cast and crew have made regarding the issue.
I hope Talaghan is in the movie! That trailer with the quote from Oppenheimer gave me chills.
1. My guess is those are MUTO eggs, which feed off of radiation to get their huge growth. It's a sign that MUTOs are breeding out of control, which is how Godzilla will turn into a savior by the end of the movie. /speculation
2. It's not Gigan; there are no other Toho monsters in the movie. It's the leg of a giant MUTO insect.
3. There may be similarities, but the director has stated clearly that these are all new monsters.
4. No.
5. Not the same person in the film.
the new link is up by the way
The video puts a lot of it in perspective.
Classic gimmick toy. All movies have them.
