Attention All G-Fans!!! Can we please improve decorum around here?

I have read several threads recently, which bothered me with how deconstructive they have been, so I just wanted to make a push to make things more reasonable.
HOPEFULLY, this will be a civil discussion, but if it detoriates, or it is somehow deemed 'unnecessary' or offtopic, and needs to be closed. I'll accept that.
But I just wanted to say somethings first:
1. There is no need to be rude or disrespectful over a disagreement. I feel like this should be obvious, but sadly it's not. People are personally attacking each other over having different points of view. And if this were some important topic like religion, or politics, I could understand (I still wouldn't agree, but I would understand). But there NOTHING about Godzilla 2014 that warrants insulting another human being, regardless of who is right vs. wrong.
Please people, if somebody disagrees with you, keep in mind:
2. People need to put more THOUGHT into their posts.
Way too much of what gets posted here is just sheer gullibility, laziness, or some combination of the two. That's part of why aggressive responses have become the norm. I mean, I do think people should always RESPECTFULLY disagree if they happen to disagree. But even I have to admit, it's hard to RESPECTFULLY disagree to a post that doesn't look like it was made with any effort.
When people are creating entire threads just to ask silly/mundane questions that would take a trivial amount of effort to answer in a self-sufficient manner...it's frustrating. Or when people are being excessively gullible, and just regurgitating information at face value, while giving it no critical analysis.
This has been happening on every topic from time zones to trailer leaks and it needs to stop.
Who is RIGHT vs. WRONG is irrelevant here. I see so much chest thumping where both people in an argument go: "I'm gonna laugh so hard when I turn out to be right HAR HAR HAR"......like one of them is going to be right.....due to sheer luck, but neither person deserves a victory lap.
I am MUCH more willing to respect a post, which I think is WRONG, but it looks well thought out, and has good reasons behind it, than a post I AGREE with, but is nothing more than a link to a website or picture with the OP saying nothing more than tantamount to: "See, it has to be true because the website said so"......even if the website is correct......there still needs to be some evidence of a human thought process.
It's like the analogy they do with the Space Shuttle: Before a shuttle launch, there is a pre-launch checklist that pilots have to go through before they can take off. Realistically speaking, you can SKIP a large number of the things on the checklist, and the shuttle will still launch successfully. That doesn't mean skipping the steps was a good idea. In fact, it's a terrible idea, regardless of the end result.
Lot's of people on here (including the admins sometimes) HAVE NO CHECKLIST. They just....post....things...and give them weight, with no clear evidence or reason why. Accurate or not, this NOT OKAY.
I dunno....that's all I really got for now. Right or Wrong, I feel like if a larger number of posters did more critical thinking and just generally were more polite, I feel like it would make these forums a better place.
Anyways, that's all I got for now.
P.S. Shout out to GMAN2887 for being the most reasonable guy I've seen on these forums. If you guys want an example of how do it right, look to his posts. I don't always agree with him, in fact, some of his ideas come out of left field for me personally. But he has definitely put THOUGHT into almost every post I've seen so far. He's even brought up facts and perspectives in multiple threads which I hadn't known/considered before. And his posts are polite 90%-95% of the time, no matter what point of view he is taking. Whether you agree or disagree with is points...his CONDUCT is basically exactly what I'm talking about.
I'm not saying GMAN2887 is the ONLY person on the forums who acts like this. Please don't interpret this as he's the only one doing it right and everyone else is doing it wrong. That's not what I'm saying. He's just the first example that comes to mind.
Anyways, yeah, keep it real G-Fans and have a nice night :-)
