I have a feeling that while the ending may be sad/soursweet, i also think its going to have a, im looking for the right words, epic, yeah an epic ending of Godzilla returning to the ocean. That togheter with an ending simmiliar to the original.

This is plain awesome. Exciting, thrilling, scary and eerie, is how most people describe the preview. I really cant wait for this movie. 

Also, i guess "the bald bat monster"  must be the flying MUTO we saw in the toy pack(The one with the wings). But some of the description doesnt match up. This is quite the mystery.

You think just because young people are young we can't handle extreme films? When I was 4 I saw alien,aliens,predator, and tons of other rated R films with sex,violence,blood, gore, and bad launguage. But hey you don't see me runing around with a chainsaw giving people haircuts. Dude I have seen 9 year olds be the racist and cuss online on videogames. I learned how sex works when I was 6. Every single kid and teenager can handle sex,violence,blood,gore, and horrible language. Maybe you guys couldn't at your time but young people are growing and evolving and improving better then any osprings before their time. maybe not in behavior and education but in inteligence. To all aldults on this site..I say this....TEENAGERS CAN HANDLE THIS CRAP WEVE DONE IT OUR WHOLE LIVES.

This thread is rated B for bull****. I'm only 14 years old if this movie were rated R there would be no way I could see this in theaters...maybe at home since my parents don't care but still thats a long wait!. Its also bull**** because there has never ever been a godzilla film that was rated R. If there were then that wouldn't be very faithfull to the original now would it?

I'm glad the masses have left behind this silly idea that we would get a gore-filled, R-rated Godzilla. It's pretty clear we're going to get a hard PG-13 for this one, especially with the onslaught of toys coming out for this film.

This movie was never going to be R-rated.

I appreciate your enthusiasm for the movie, but I'm closing this down for multiple reasons:

1. Wishing, hoping and fishing for footage from the new movie isn't going to make it come any quicker.

2. We already have plenty of threads about SXSW, we don't need anymore. This question could have been asked in any one of those.

3. Most importantly, it is well known that filming the footage on any recorder at the event was prohibited. (In fact it's illegal to record any footage from a movie screen.) On the off chance someone did film the footage it is common knowledge that WB keeps an eye on this site, and likely the forums. Such material has been known to cause harm to fan sites like this beyond the typical cease and desist and posts like this only draw more attention to that.

If you must go on a search for this (illegally obtained) footage I suggest you do it through more private outlets. (Private messages, youtube searches...etc...) Thanks.

It's killing me how little they are showing of the actual Godzilla! The tension will continue to build until mid May I suppose! 

A new Godzilla game for the new consoles is almost a priority to me at this point. Even if it is based off the movie which traditionally doesn't do well with most games but has worked in the past (King Kong).

Ah it didn't get to ask if there were really more then one big G. Not that I personally believe in that stupid theory I mainly want to ask it so I can prove everybody wrong about there being two godzilla's. The chances of two godzilla's is 1%. But i'll try again next time. AND I DIDN'T GET TO ASK IF GODZILLA GETS TO KICK ONE OF THE MUTOS IN THE BALL SACK WHAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Edwards is only mentioning his admiration to the original movie, but in any moment he even try to say that the new movie will end like the first one.

However, IF there would be a sad end, I think that it will be better if one important character die in a heroic form, maybe even helping Godzilla (directly or indirectly) to defeat the final Muto and saving the humanity in the procese. But, this is just speculation.

You're lucky. I wish I could of went. Anyway sounds bloody awesome!!! Imagine what the rest of the movie will be like. I can tell this will be a huge success.

Well, good thing I said "supposed" trailer, though I'm not Japanese, nor do I speak it. Still an awesome addition to the trailer though, having that alternate ending. Really hope Legendary decides to use it or something similar!

Yeah, Honda, Tsuburaya, Ifukube and Tanaka, the team that brought the original to life have all passed away.. Along with a laundry list of others that were part of the original team.

And Shazo, Honda died in February of '93, Burr died in September.

Oh yes, the movie's gonna be R-rated and I suppose the kids must be Reeeeeeeeally excited and are looking forward to get their paws dirty on an R-rated Giant Godzilla toy and R-rated Godzilla and MUTO destruction packs now eh? *burp*

Let's think about this a bit, where does the sadness in the ending of Gojira come from? Is it from Godzilla's death, or Serizawa's? Remember, this film is focused on a more human aspect, meaning that the death of a noble character could be what he means.
