Since we have been having so many hints about how the MUTOs, or Hokmutos, look like with the trailer, the toys and the SXSW descriptions, what do you think of the design so far?

At first, when I heard Godzilla's enemy was going to be insect-like, I didn't like the idea so much. I thought that for a first movie, Godzilla should fight a big, bulky monster that would be a real challenge for him. I thought that giant insects were the easy way to go for creating a monster. But as a secundary monster, an insect-like monster was good, since a second monster was still to be revealed.

Then we got more news and the design started looking better. It seemed more bizzare and abstract than it looked insect-like. Now I'm curious to see how it moves and attacks, and I actually like the design so far. The name also sounds cool!

What do you think about the design so far? What are your theories about them? Remember we are just speculating and that nothing is definitive until May 16 and that we still have to see the flying creature.

Feel free to comment!

"Its a Tyrannosaurus."

"I don't think so... It sounds bigger. It sounds like death; the destroyer of worlds...."

People say he's a mix of Clover and Gigan. I can see that, but people arent really looking at him from a different perspective. Just because a giant monster has long limbs doesn't make him Clover and just because he has giant claws doesn't make him Gigan. I view him as a totally different monster, he looks great to me.

Although I've got no problem with the Mutos themselves, I have to say I will be seriously dissapointed if they are the only opponents of Godzilla in the film. I just can't buy those little things being the ancient enemy that threatens Godzilla's life, unless there are a whole frickin' lot of them, which would still be pretty weak.
