Its cool enough and all but, and i know im gonna get thrown hundreds of hate comments at me, but isnt the neck a little TOO long? I mean, i know the neck is pretty long on this design, but here its a little too long, thin and bendy.
The art is great, and im sure this book will be aswell but that neck is quite off.
Hooray, it's a prequel in book form that comes out a week before the movie. Now that is just awesome. The book will tie into the movie. Hopefully. Does anyone think Muto will be in the book?

...or you know, it could just be battle damage??? I just got the figures today and that's what it appers to be. They are ancient enemies after all, I'm sure the Mutos are just about as strong as Godzilla so I'm sure they could inflict some damage.
Of course there are doubts. A lot of what Edwards, his cast and crew have said fall in the category of, "too good to be true." A lot of this could backfire if they set expectations too high, but at the same time all we have to go on is their word and the work they've done before.
The only real wild card is Max Morenstein, but his initial draft has be reworked by so many people that I doubt it's hardly his story anymore.
Are there doubts that they pulled this off? Yes, but more faith that they got it right.

I believe the MUTO weapon will be some sort of high-noise/super-sonic boom/EMP type weapon. You can hear a very organic type noise in the international trailer while the kids are running away from the school and the HALO jump. Wonder if that has anything to do with it.

The 3 movies are all very good. Got them on blu ray. Can't wait for the gamera show movies on blu ray!
offtopic, just wanted to point out a similarity like in pacific rim, i forget the name of the kaiju but it also had emp blast, i mean nothing out there, just what i remember, offtopic not relating to this discussion just an observation

No it will be unique to them. I believe it was mentioned by ign that its going to be an EMP type of weapon which is what causes the Janjira power plant to start shutting down at the begining of the film. Also if you rewatch the trailers all of the jets that drop from the sky have no damage which would suggest EMP.
I think anyone who's wanted a truly serious take on this iconic movie monster will be very pleased. The only people who might be disappointed are those who want to see the cheesiness of the old movies.
Atomic Breath, no. A different kind of ranged energy weapon. Maybe. It would be cool if Muto were to shoot a lazer or radiation blast or Oxyegen Destroyer Ray or electricity or sonic screech or fire or acid or what ever.
