Hmmm...I suppose. Although I've spoken to some of the old school G1 transformer fans and they weren't crazy about the Michael Bay films. But I guess they are in the minority in terms of fandom. I wouldn't call myself a hardcore Transformer fan by any stretch of the imagination, but I did remember watching G1 cartoons as a little kid and I'm not thrilled with the Bay films. Maybe its a generational thing.
As for Wang, the thing is, I'm not sure if there is anyone else who can make a decent Guyver film apart from him, for a new American version anyway. The mentality of most US producers is to treat this genre as some sad power ranger-style joke, they don't do justice to the source material.
@SMAUG_THE_MAGNIFICENT: Great find! I didn't realize that frog/toad pupils could do that.
UPDATE: Based on GUATEGOJIRA's comment and picture showing a rounded pupil, I did some checking of my own. Sure enough that "Kaiju King" poster shows the same profile shot of the 2014 Godzilla head as the brazillian poster... but with a rounded pupil. Now Godzilla cold still change its pupil in the movie, but I think it will be rounded.

I believe there is gonna be like another monster down there, but I never believed the 2 Godzillas theory AT ALL -.- who the heck made up that silly theory
Wow! I can still remember last years Comic-Con when Godzilla was there. 50 more days. So close.
My mistake. When I use the word "real" or "realism" in this context, I mean to say that the monsters do not appear silly or comedic, allowing the audience to immerse themselves in the film.
Get a hold of yourselves! It's only 50 days! Once we get into the 20s', it'll be even tougher then!
The can have and x-shaped pupil, but the drawings is too cute and funny..but i highly doubt that
Some real gems in there!
who says animals can't have x shaped pupils?
It has been tradition for rubber suit acting in Godzilla movies. It always made it seem more real to me. Plus with all the technology, it may be good to step back and appreciate the old school art of rubber suit acting. I think there is plenty of potential for future Godzilla movies to have actors in rubber suits.
LOOOOLL..I laughed waaay to hard at this picture,no offence, but it looks like it's a kawaii and moe Godzilla..LMAO
@GMAN2887 Could you explain the third Godzilla in Showa and Heisei era? I know that in Godzilla Raids Again there was a new Godzilla and in Godzilla vs King Ghidorah they accidentally created new Godzilla...
Edit: Nevermind. I think I understand it now. In Heisei series there was the original (1954), the new one (1984-1989) and the one time travelers accidentally created when moving Godzillasaurus' corpse to different place where also happened nuclear accident. In Showa series there was the original, the other one that was introduced in 1955 and the third one was in Godzilla's Revenge (1969).
You don't know how hard it was to make that eye and then it turns out the be inaccurate. LOL :D
@GodzillatheKing123
The difference the new Transformers movies actually have fans. It may not be critics that like them, but it's won over this generation of kids and young adults easily. GINO was pretty much universally hated at the time. The few fans that it did make are only recently old enough to speak up about it on boards like these. They would be too little to support it anyway, but it's still far too late.
I think the genius of Wang was everything he was able to pull off with a minimum budget. He understands it and it's fantastic, but at this point I'd like to see someone else's take on the material. At one point Shusuke Kaneko was planning a live action Guyver movie, but it didn't get very far in pre-production. So he used some his action ideas for Gamera instead. (Notice Gamera's chest weapon is very similar to Guyver's.)
Insulting you? Riiighhhttt. That was what I was talking about, so serious. Listen kid, you gotta learn to deal with different opinions. Don't hyperventilate each time someone disagree with you.
Let us add Lionden13 to the cemetery of the forum insulters. Well, what he did a week before he added the link to the video, he was rude. You know, stop claiming the mods and the admin of being rude to you, they are trying to make you stop insulting people a week before you posted the link. This thread must be locked, mods.
And Lionden, the link is dead you biscuit!
Whatever, OP, tell that kid to F off. Life is too short to be always so worried about what others think about your Godzilla passion. So long as you don't harm yourself or others, what you do or what you interest is in is nobody else business.
RF-It could also be Godzilla wrecking Las Vegas.
My idea for a Godzilla video game would be a game like King Kong. The classic monster mellee and a second gameplay as men. In the beginning of human gameplay I would had a survival mode when the monsters attack and later mini-games to help Godzilla against other monsters. Like surviving a course and than for example activating a rocketturret or asking for an airstrike to distract Godzilla's opponents. Or searching for information about the monsters and their weakpoints in a beautiful but broken city.
The gamers could experience in the human mode the thrill of survival, when such an event accure like the attack of hughmongous mosters.
The real thrill would be in virtual reality like with the OCULUS RIFT.
Gotta admit, I really enjoyed the television series. Yes it's in a very televised toku style, but it's actually well done and keeps true to the Daimajin movies-- the whole series is one long buildup to re-awakening Daimajin. It's different, but not bad.
Good thing I'm watching it in IMAX 3D on May 15. As a proud filipino and fellow fan of Godzilla, we can make it.
I wouldn't trust Gearth as far as I could throw him. Gareth on the other hand, I would trust. Also, I have a few mates who are Godzilla fans who are being hesitant to get too excited for this film.
No, a BIG NO. The pupil of Godzilla 2014 is rounded, not with a "x" form. Check this image from the oficial toys packs:

It is clear, the eye pupil is rounded. Even check the huge head of the Jakk Pacific Godzilla, it is rounded too.
In May 16, you will see it.
The X on the fan-arts eye doesn't really capture the Brazil photo's eye. The upper part of the X should be obscured by the eye lid and then maybe I'll call it accurate.
dude .. is a toy , a kids toy , you cant compare a kids toy with the real thing i mean ... just .. no .. damn i even got a headache .
I was serious about you insulting me. I can see why you might have thought I gave a damn about the whole daikaiju argument, though.
HECK YEAH!!!! :D This is great news! I hope these videos are informative, but non-spoilery. :)
Of course, as a facebook and Twitter holdout, I may be at a disadvantage. I hope I can still watch them on the website or, better yet, on THIS website!
@DANZILLA93: Now that would be a neat scene to see, a human landing on Godzilla's head! Though being right infront of Godzilla's angry eye isn't my #1 place to visit.
Also, here's a cuttlefish (relative of Octopi and Squid) "W" shaped pupil.. so an "X" shaped is in the realm of possibility

Here's yet another fan-made example of the eye by KeiJuuFin
and here's his comments "eah, if you look the leaked Godzilla head you can see the eye is like that. Very unusual but he's a mutation so I accept it
"
Do me a favor, save the large Godzilla 2014 Head (the licensing photo one) and zoom in on the pupil. It's tricky to see, but it is there!
Cool drawing, but he looks like an anime character that just got KOed. :)
Heeeey... Maybe that's the secret of the HALO jump! They were attempting to duct tape Godzilla's eyes!
#RodanConfirmed

THE LAST THING A SERIOUSLY SCREWED CORRUPT DAIMYO SEES!
@DoggieZilla
C'mon soldier, you make it! You have a family to go back to!
Reminds me of Xerneas from Pokemon.
It's a good drawnig, but I don't think his eye is like that.
I can't make it, Daikaiju_Danielle I.....I think I'm going to die.
Excelent topic! The Daimajin films are beyond epic! I descovered them several years ago, and finally saw them when Mill Creek released their Blu-ray set. They are now three of my favorite films of all time. The first one in particular was so powerful and somber, very Gojira-like in many ways. An unusual choice for 1966, the year that gave us the lighthearted Godzilla vs The Sea Monster. In an age when the kaiju eiga were becoming more family friendly and fun, the Daimajin films returned the genre to its dark roots. The brillience of the films really comes through when you look at all of their great aspects-the stories, the cinematography, the acting, and Akira Ifukube's haunting and georgous score-and realize that all three movies were produced IN THE SAME YEAR! Simply amazing.
Long story short, if you are a kaiju fan and have not seen the Daimajin Trilogy, stop reading this, buy the super cheap trilogy set on Blu-ray, and watch them!
Yes, they are that good.
What are you waiting for? :)
