yeah i agree defenitly biollante one of the most impressive kaiju's i have ever seen and really biollante is overlooked a lot.
the cover is by arthur adams and like kaijugroupie just said the famous eric battle did the inside artwork i can not wait to get this in may just 9 days before the movie is released :)
Actually I think the Heisei suits were largely better than the Millennium suits. The Millennium costumes looked a little to stiff and plastic-esque. All the Heisei suits looked fairly organic and the animatronics only got better with each movie. With the exception of GMK I'm not a big fan of the Millennium suits or designs.
@Kyorah16
That's understandable. I think some suits were done well like that. I still look at Gamera 3 as the best example of "dark" suitmation/miniature filmmaking from Japan.
I have 25 of them currently.
I also have all 28 in DVD and hopefully in 5 months 29
24 movies right now. But it fluctuates. I also have two copies of Godzilla: KotM/Gojira (one version is on DVD from Classic Media. The other version is on Bluray from Criterion.) and two copies of Godzilla against MechaGodzilla and Final Wars. (Sony's discs and Toho's discs.)
Godzilla vs. Biollante and Destroy All Monsters I own on Bluray. I can't wait to get my hands on some of the re-releases this May though.
These are pretty old, and have been on YouTube for a while. I've seen these videos a month or a little bit longer ago. Even before I was a member of this sight. But better late then never. I guess? :P
10. I watched the others from TV, Netflix and other websites. My favorite one I have is the 1954 one of course
my doubts and worries were put to rest for good after what i have seen and read through the empire magazine which i now own
i will say a quote from the famous hector arce who was involved with legendary
"the trailer gave everybody chills, it is going to be insane" :)
really i'm fine with suitmation unless they make the skin too bagy like the heisei godzilla suits after 91, gmk had really good suits and made a good mixture of cgi and suitmation. in other words, heisei suitmation=bad, millenium/gmk suitmation=good
Godzilla (1954)
Godzilla vs Biolante
Godzilla vs Destoroyah
Godzilla vs King Gidorah

i have all 28 godzilla films on dvd :)
WTF??? It's "Brontozilla!" Why did they mess with Godzilla's feet? Way back in 1998, Tri-Star threw out the "Toho Bible", that clearly specified what MUST BE FOLLOWED when making a Godzilla film. It would seem that Legendary/Warner Bros. has also followed suit. "Toho Bible" for Godzilla. (1) Godzilla MUST be have been created as the result of a nuclear blast. (2) Godzilla MUST have three rows of dorsal spines on his back. (3) Godzilla CANNOT be killed or destroyed by any waepons. (4) Godzilla MUST have three or four toes on his FEET, not STUMPS! (5) Godzilla MUST have his iconic Roar. (6) Godzilla MUST have his radioactive fire breath. Is there still time to fix this! I hope so. Otherwise.......it's "Brontozilla" with a SOAR THROAT!
yayyy this is what i will get 9 days before the movie is released looking foward to this :)
I have all 28 but "Godzilla's Revenge" on VHS.
that's a nice cover
probably not, but a different power
WTF? Here we go again! My "Atomic Roar" Godzilla arrived on March 20th. What a shock! It's "Brontozilla!" They screwd with Godzilla's feet! Obviously, Legendary/Warner Bros. threw out the "Toho Bible" the same way that Tri-Star did way bac in 1998! The "Toho Bible" clearly specifies that Godzilla is to have 3 to 4 toes on his FEET, not STUMPS! And, the "Atomic Roar" is a disapointment. What gives them the right to alter Godzilla's iconic roar??? You cannot call him Godzilla, without that" AHHHRROOOO"...at the end of his roar!
What about the whole system? They shouldn't be able to (dash/leap 100 meters in the air)
far to fast paced for godzilla.
Whoa! i just noticed if you look at the GIF you can see what looks like giant hand hanging down, just to the left of the 2 lights in the top right of the screen. Anyone else seeing that??
Already pre-ordered on amazon!
Looks pretty cool. Hope we see more fan colorings of the NECA figure.
Biollante !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! one if not my favouret kaiju besids Godzilla
Im 90% sure the toys will not look very similar to their counterparts in the movie. I would take that with a grain of salt.
Ya those seem new. I saw a few different ones last year but these are way better and in HD!
never saw the third one,it looks like there running from the tidal wave.
I can't wait!
This is on my list!
The second and third videos obviously come from the tsunami scene in Honolulu. You can even see that one guy carrying his daughter that journalists described from the SXSW footage. No clue about the first video, though.
RF, how did you come up with <10%?
If there is no absolute way to know, unless you've seen the entire film...and you haven't) would it only be 50% at best? Yay, I learned something from math class!!
Besides, Edwards says the Halo jump scene at the end reveals an enourmous surprise; seeing Godzilla fight the MUTO would not be that as they should have already had a tussle or two earlier in the film. Of course maybe he doesnt see that larger MUTO till the very end of the movie, but thats not what many have posted after seeing the extended footage. I speculate that another BIG monster will be revealed, another Godzilla, or something else that blind-sides us. Still waiting for one of those extended viewers to go stool pigeon on Gareth, but I think they really respect him too much for his efforts to get this right...
@TrickKelly, Eric Battle did the interior art, he actually does really awesome work He worked on a few Batman Arcs that were really good.
If Arthur Adams had done the interior art, I would pre-order immediately. However, that doesn't seem to be the case.
@ZillaHater, no hate here, but it is after all an artist's interpretation of it, not an official render from WETA, so yeah the neck can be a little longer, it's art, it's not supposed to be perfect.
Man I wanted to be excited about these toys. They look great, but visiting Toys R Us, they have a majority out, and they are all very thin walled hard, hard plastic. Nothing flexible, very brittle feeling, especially the big one for $50. You step on it, it's done, even one in the store had been dropped from the shelf and his body was cracked and pieces broken out of it. :( Wish they were more rubberized.
Wow u could actually see his gills.
Just remembered I pre ordered this, I honestly was kinda scared I pre ordered those happy meal toys they sell at TrU
Chronoportation.
