The new film will not have an original song by a popular band on the soundtrack-- and to that I give a resounding: Thank. God.
Maybe the song on the track thats titled Godzilla then it maybe that
I think my first experience was watching Godzilla Vs. Megalon as part of a string of movies that would air on Thanksgiving. It would air on WOR channel 9 in New York and was as traditional as your football games and the parade. Other movies included King Kong, Mighty Joe Young, and Terror of MechaGodzilla, one of my personal favorites. I remember this being one of my first experiences with Godzilla because I saw him as the good guy or hero and didn't quite understand what was going on when I saw the original Godzilla from 1954 airing at 2:00 am and saw Godzilla as the antagonist or villain. I seriously thought that the annoying humans had done something to anger Godzilla. I then saw the ending where he dies from the oxygen destroyer and didn't quite understand how Godzilla could live until I saw Godzilla Raids Again years later.
When I last saw any news on it it was godzilla vs allan from The Hangover and it looked like godzilla was going to win overwhelmingly
@BigBadBen
Yes I have it listed in that thread I posted above. The Gamera Legacy collection is DVD only and since I already own the Heisei Gamera Trilogy on Bluray it actually makes more sense for me to get the Bluray collections of the Showa series than the Legacy set. Thanks for the heads up though.
Huh, I didn't even stop to think it might have been legal/copyright issue. I have heard that the NCAA can be be ruthless about that kind of stuff.
I do wish Legendary would say something about to confirm at least some type of explanation. But I guess on any list of things it wouldn't be considered a 'big deal'. I am stoked for advance purchase tickets :-) :-) :-)
@DANNYBLAZOR Yeah, I originally thought it was going to be a 100% popularity contest, and that's how it would have ended.
Then the whole 'Alan beat Zod' thing happened. I still have trouble swallowing the legitimacy of that, but it renewed my engagement in the contest with a 'anything can happen' sort of spirit. Then the contest vanished :-(
That's what I was saying though, even in fights where Godzilla wasn't involved, people were still saying he was going to win it in the end.
@duratok
that's because those were in Godzilla's fights. If you looked at Batman's fights, they basically said the same thing about batman like "batman would waste these guys. batman always wins" every round he was in, like Godzilla. But we will never know who wouldve topped in the godzilla vs batman round, they mysteriously just removed everything relating to it.
Do you think they'll sell them online or at our locals theaters?
I highly doubt Batman would have won the votes. In every posting I saw, even if he wasn't involved in the matchup, I'd see posts like "Does it really matter? Godzilla would waste all of these guys", "LOL Godzilla's gonna win in the end anyways".
Godzilla was the majority favorite.
It wouldve been batman and godzilla easily, but sadly, I think that batman wouldve won
i dont know really maybe they were doing something else idk
yep, just checked and you're right. there are no march madness competition posts on legendary anymore. could it be the ncaa had an issue with them using "final four" because I know in the newsrooms you are prohibited from having that as actual text, super strict stuff.
this used to be one of the status updates on the marchmadness competition from legendary, youll see its missing now:

My first introduction, luckily, was with the original Gojira. An old fan in my family let me watch it, I think I was about 3 years old then, and boy did it scare me and made me cry. It still does to this day. My first true love, Godzilla, had arrived, and we've had a steady and wondrous relationship since.
A couple more sequel title/tagline ideas I thought of...
Godzilla 3: Endgame
Tagline: The beginning of the end.
I also thought up this tagline for the potential sequel(s): Unstoppable force of nature. Immovable object of doom. Of course, the whole purpose of that tagline was to hype up Big G's confrontation with his arch nemesis (King Ghidorah) in the 2nd movie/1st sequel, but I think that one might be better suited for the 3rd and potential final film vs. either Bagan or Destoroyah w/a modded origin TBH (and they'd have to change his origin since the Oxygen Destroyer will have never even existed in this universe) because the later part of the tagline implies that his adversary is an "ultimate" or super kaiju and that would be Bagan/Destroroyah, of course.
Also, if KG is in the sequel (and by God, I hope he is, obvious reasons), the only monsters that could potentially "top" him in the 2nd sequel/3rd movie as far as Big G's competition are Bagan, Destoroyah, Mechagodzilla, and maybe Biollante. Obviously, 2 of those (possibly 3, as I believe Bagan had an alien/supernatural backstory involved as well from the Super Godzilla SNES game) would have to have their backstory altered a bit while one wouldn't fit Edwards' "realistic" Godzilla universe at all.
as much time as they have spent on working with this film, then it should be at least 2 hrs long in my opinion. :)
hahahaha good old memories, first godzilla movie when i was 3 was godzilla vs megalon. :)
then when i fell into this fandom and in love with the big g, well my parents started to get all of the vhs tapes that they could find at walmart, but if didnt have the money, blank tapes came into play and they recorded them for me. Oh i was tickled to death when i saw this monster and will always be till the day i die. :)

Thanks everyone, happy to see most of you are on board. I want this place to be the most positive,most welcoming Godzilla forum on the net, and the only way it's going to attain such a title is by the members' actions. So thank you for making the effort to keep this place lively and fun.
@durp004 - Yes, we'll be going through and doing some "spring cleaning" of old, locked, pointless topics soon.
OH YEAAAAAAAAAAAH! :) time to buy some tickets! At least three for me.
We will never know till like 1-5 days before the movie is going to be out . Hopefully I'm wrong, and hopefully it's at least between 2hr 10min- 2hr 45min.
I remember I was 4 years old, it was 1994, and I was watching cartoons at the apartment my family lived in at the time. I remember this as the first day I ever saw Scooby-Doo, Flintstones, Jetsons, Johnny Quest, and the 70's era Godzilla cartoon. I was one of those kids that was obsessed with dinosaurs, so much so that I was able to name 20 dinosaurs before I could even count to 20 lol. I remember seeing that cartoon with Godzilla and Godzooki as he faced off against some monsters in this mysterious under sea world, trying to protect his humans.
Later when I was 5 and we moved away and lived in a house, I remember still thinking about that cartoon and asking my Dad if I could see a Godzilla movie. We rented the original Godzilla vs Mothra (one of only two movies they had at the one video store in town, the other being Godzilla vs. Biollante) and thinking the movie was really cool but kinda slow and not what I hoped for. I also remember watching Biollante with my parents and them being shocked at how violent it was (the gunplay among the humans mostly... it was the early 90's and I was young so ya lol). Later we went to Blockbuster and I found a massive collection of Godzilla films there and thus my obsession began :)
