As has been said multiple upon multiple times in the plethora of repeat topics on this thread. The run time is not 98 minutes. Google has confused it with the running time of the original, 1954 film. Topic closed.
I'm going to sticky this so more can see it. No more repeat topics on this guys. I've had it.
Devianteist, thanks for making this to explain to those what's going on with the run time.
Yeah, MaggleShackel and GodzillaHimself seem to be on a sensible track.
I think that, maybe, just maybe, Godzilla isn't truly the last of his kind. There are others, but they are dormant, and have chosen simply to remain hidden.
More far-fetched than anything, but it's at least feasible.
Here's my version for a sequel to Tokyo S.O.S.
Godzilla X Hedorah. When Godzilla returns from the ocean after his last battle with Kiryu, the two mothras, now fully grown, try to stop him from causing destruction. Meanwhile, a large cloud of noxious gas is moving it's way across Japan. It is an organism that feeds off pollution and CO2, named Hedorah. Now, Godzilla and the mothras must face off against this creature before it turns all of Japan into ashes.
Here another sequel to Tokyo S.O.S
Godzilla x Spacegodzilla. Godzilla has been dorman for a long time. The JXDF decides to remove with their store of G-Cells, and using a small propulsion rocket, fire it into space. It flies into a hole in space time and is lost. A few months later, Godzilla returns, and the army move into attack. Suddeny, a large creature appears from space, and it looks a lot like Godzilla. It is named Spacegodzilla. Now Godzilla battle his space double in a titanic showdown.
So there ya go.
@SmaugTheMagnificent- You're kidding? A Cthulu anime? See now, with that on the table, surely Godzila could make the cut!
The comment above me has been removed. Thank you mods and/or admins. Thank you very much.
@monstermovieguy
This thread isn't really a good discussion thread. I'm just sayin'.
Hasn't anyone asked Gareth about this yet? Out of all the interviews he has done I havent seen the runtime mentioned yet. Without a doubt it will be 2+ hours.
SOMETHING REAL - I like the idea and for the most part agree with what THEGMAN123 says. I forgot where I read that when the Godzilla species roamed the earth the radiation levels were 10% more then modern times. It's possible the use of his atomic breath or even his presence could effect the balance of nature in some way. In the end I do hope that the "lesson" he teaches huminaty will change our relationship with nature.
@Evan123- Touché, and thank you. Someone was going to eventually. I just decided to be that person.
i could see it as a cartoon in general, so long as its not crapy cg like green lantern and that tron series.
considering how brutal godzilla can be, they all prbably did just kill eachother off. pherhaps over what maggleshackle mentioned. i think that combined with the presence of the mutos makes the most sence. i definetly do not think it was only the mutos.
@Junkerde This is both off and on topic. I'm just sayin'.
Ummmm.....is this not another topic about an unconfirmed running time?, no but seriously you are very right! The forums are being clogged up with useless topics and you are correct to have adressed it.
@Junkerde- You're very welcome. It's honestly been getting so annoying, I can hardly take it anymore.
Thank You! Took the words right out of my mouth. Come on now people, use that search function, seriously.
Cannablism, fighting over mates and/or territory, predators, change in climate, lack of food. There a lot of reason, hell everything I just mentioned are more or less what killed off the dinosaurs. The idea of these factors killing off godzilla's species isn't that far fetched.
Please close this thread people need to really stop spamming with the same question over and over..
Please lock this repeat thread.
Sorry, we've had many posts about this, that running time is for the re-running of the 1954 film. This is a repost with a topic that has been answered many many times, there is a search feature in the forums for a reason. Mods please close this thread.
first world problems
also im thinking mods should really just have an "off topic" discussion section, because apparantly we are in real need of that.
Want to hear the most annoying Godzilla roar in the world?
ARNOLD! Dosent get any better then the bodybuilding legend vs predator. Aliens hhheeee? Ok avp 50/50
Hey, they managed to turn cuthulu into an anime, why the fuck not?
Im having a great year! Dennis wolf winning the arnold classic and seeing it, and hearing it epic. My graduation of high school is this year, and godzilla is making an epic return to the big screen. Ain't get no better then this :).
As I am a big anime fan myself i should have a lot to say about topic.... but no, all recommendations i have basically amount to one thing. APADT Godzilla: Half Century War! it has a lot places you could fill in content that would easily last 13 eps (standard anime season length), there's lots of monsters, characters and plus the art already kind of has that manga feel to it. Now if you were talking a kids cartoon.... I got nothing. the only reason the godzilla the series did feel like godzilla movies more was because tv was letting a lot more serious shows and styles in the 90s with shows like Men in Black and Gargoyles which i doubt they could today.
Why the hell would they cancel G 84? There have already been tonnes of G 94 figures. If they released a G 84 figure I soooo woulda bought it!
That would be nice, although I ain't really a fan of anime so I probably wouldn't watch it.
To be totally honest, that is nothing. I have way worse problems than yours and this year for me has been a lot worse compared to yours. I would rather not express the problems I have been facing because they are rather personal and have to do with my family. All I can say to you is, be happy. Come on, you always gotta look at the bright side of things and always remember...things could be a lot worse.
Well in santorini (greece) most of my classmates have heard about godzilla but believe that the 98 is the original. I am the only one who knows his history... however a lot of them are eager to see the movie
The NECA G84 figure got cancelled?! and that was the only one i wanted to WTF!!!!
If I were to make a sequel to any Godzilla movie, I would make a sequel to Godzilla VS Hedorah.
I have never seen this movie. I have only witnessed the scene where Godzilla uses his atomic breathe to fly.
So why this one?
Because it needs a serious sequel, and because there is already someone who is trying to work to make this sequel happen.
Plus, nuclear energy is very clean, compared to fossil fuels and what-not. Having clean energy battling a monster spawned from pollution created by unclean energies and waste would only make sense.
See what I'm talking about?
I am not sure of what ingredients a Godzilla anime would have, but it should avoid everything the movies avoided.
As for this idea; I would love it. I don't watch anime, but this would definitely get me in.
Thank You! Finally somebody with a solid answer AND explaination to boot. For real, thank you for the information. Can finally stop looking and also: Job very well done on this thread. Can tell a lot of time went into it. Lesson learned: You want info? Don't ask a store, ask a fan!
I'd say that rather than Godzilla himself being presented in such a light, the aftermath he leaves in his wake should incite such beliefs in people. Humans tend to wanna explain the unexplainable in any way they can, for comfort, security, sanity, whatever. Thus, believing that Godzilla's wrath has some sort of supernatural/divine intervention sort of deal going on will help ease people's minds at the thought of this being simple rage by an animal whom wishes it upon us for encroaching on HIS territory. They wanna believe that it isn't their own fault for these events, or that it's a very specific type of people's fault.
I am a fan of the first Alien film and the first and second Predator films.
I, however, am not a big fan of the Aliens VS Predator franchise. Yes, I do enjoy it. It is very well put together for such an unhinged concept, but the movies are even less distasteful than anything else. They're like music videos, without the rapid editting and lyrics.
The 2011 AvP for the Xbox 360 and the PS3 is honestly the only thing I truly enjoy of the AvP franchise. I have not played the game's predecessors, sadly, nor read any of the comics, so I cannot call the franchise bad, but I cannot call it good.
I will call it... Entertaining violence.
As saddening as a lot of this news is, we are seeing quite a lot of news that people are interested, at the very least. Keep your heads up guys.
@GojiFan- That sounds a lot like what another user on here said about their area of Mexico. I can only sigh in dissappointment.
@KaijuJira- Now that is absolutely spirit lifting! I love that!
When I see or hear the name Fandango, I think of this guy:
