Yeah, I did think Shin Godzilla when I saw this. The whole scene is an homage to the kaiju genre. Definitely one of the best Dragon Ball movies too. Happy I got to see it in theaters.

i would go with desghidorah. or "death ghidorah" that hilarious.

well, animation is an effect that is special, and tokusatsu is special effects in japanese so....... I guess it falls under the giant umbrella of tokusatsu.

Does Evangelion count as tokusatsu? 

I mean it has tokusatsu influences but its animated which is a completely different medium to tokusatsu, which is live action.
