Suits looked great, acting was decent, and soundtrack was good. Now to how I really feel. When i heard about final wars I was extremely excited. A remake of Destroy All Monsters essentially with a more updated monster roster it's something we all dreamed about for years. Sounds great on paper, but seeing the film was a real let down, especially as a so called finale. Granted I don't think the millennium series could ever top the heisei finale of Godzilla vs. Destroyah, but they could have at least tried. The human aspect has wayyyy to much emphasis with the human fights lasting longer than 90% of the monster fights. The monsters in general were all extremely weak besides godilla when compared to their former selves. So to see godzilla finally fight some of these monsters that I'd been wondering about ever since I was a kid(Zilla. king ceasar, rodan) it was a big let down. They seemed like they wanted to fit in so many monsters that it made each individual fight horribly short and anticlimactic. Godzilla was finally going to fight some of his old friends who in their own right were very strong and it got shoved down to a 3 minute fight where it's not even a competition. Overall it's an enjoyable movie if you hadn't been a die hard godzilla fan for very long before watching it, but as a fan since 1992 it was a big let down as fights I'd pictured in my head came out stupidly 1 sided, and the karate matrix scenes seemed to be too large of a aspect of the movie. Was it a decent godzilla movie? Of course but as a finale(the finales of the showa and heisie are some of the best godzilla movies in my opinion) it was extremely weak, and really it's not wonder it did poorly at the box office in japan.

A poster and something like a key-chain would be nice.

I think, like you all, that the movie will probably pinpoint on San Francisco, or at least during the last half of the movie. Also remember that they made places in BC specifically look like San Francisco such as the police station.

Well I can see why you say that....maybe not Serizawa...but people at comic con said that he was in the trailer. I wouldn't say I wouldn't want him to have a part in the movie because I like him as a actor, but everyone has their opinion.

Well,Gareth did say that if this move is successful (us G-fans will FORCE IT to be successful if we have to!),he'd like to make a "Destroy All Monsters" type movie as a sequel. Maybe a similar idea could be added to it. Not exactly like that,but similar.

^ Exactly it is godzilla a giant firebreathing nuclear T-rex and you can't only take that to a certain point of realism before it just looks dumb. As for that movie, the millennium era is done, so there's not a chance of that, or at least in the setting you chose. I would like to see 2 godzillas fight, but the only problem with that is personally I like some1 to root for and with that scenario I don't know who it would be.

The first Godzilla's supposed to represent punishment for mankind's selfishness. His death came from an act of human selflessness to cancel out years of sin. Dr.Serizawa in that movie is sort of the Jesus of the nuclear age. Godzilla we know and love is the result of years of bromanticizing movies. If they want to bring the 1954 version of Godzilla back they need to strike fear into hearts. Bring back the destitute and make us feel that killing him is an act of righteous cleansing. So I want to see an epic kamikaze death of three gods; the killer, the savior, and the weapons of mass destruction. Closing the trinity with crucifixion. Ending all three gods.

Sorry to burst your bubble guys, but that was just a part of false info on IMDB's part which has already been taken down. Dr Serizawa has not been confirmed as a character in the film and hopefully never will be.

Dark, Gritty and Realistic? Yeah, to a degree. I dont think the movie will be that much darker than any of the 2000 movies. It will surely have a few scenes with a more sad and silent tone, but its still Godzilla, right?

It depends on how much you're willing to change their backstories. Krystalak is made from space godzilla's crystals so according to his back story that's the only movie he'd work in, but if you just said he was some king of radiated monster he could fit in any of the showa movies, and just become a background monster on monster island. In my opinion Obsidius would have fit in Godzilla vs megalon instead of Gigan. The seatopians(or whatever they're called) just call up into space to get Gigan, when it would have made more sense if they just sent up 2 ground monsters that they controlled since there's no mention of them in the prior movie with space space hunter nebula, and doesn't make sense how humans who live right above them don't know who they are but space aliens do

Actually Most of the Filming took place in BC Canada. I think minor shots were taken on location in Japan since it looks like the Big-G causes all kinds of havoc in America.

Well I'm guessing the film will take place in Japan (obviously), Hawaii (the scene at the airport seems to be set in Hawaii), and San Francisco (mainly due to the city popping up during the Godzilla Encounter).

Godzilla has worked best as an anti-hero/borderline villain in the past. I think the tagline should have to deal with relying on a creature that could destroy us in order to save the world. Gareth also said there would be an emphasis on nature. I think it will be something along the lines of "Mother Nature Meets Destroyer of Worlds," or "In [i]this[/i] Kin's court, all are guilty."

I have a feeling that godzilla will be both a "good guy" and a "bad guy" in the film. Defeats all monsters and then takes the rest of the rage out on the humans.

Gareth is trying to get a very dark, gritty, realistic tone of the first movie. I doubt we would be seeing that in this film, because it seems like an average, campy Godzilla movie from 2000, not the dark, scary, sad tone of the 1954.

Smaug could arguably use his bling to intimidate godzilla and buy an oxygen destroyer, giving an equal match.

I think a lot of it could be from San Francisco, only because of the mention of San Francisco in the viral marketing campaign from before the Godzilla Encounter.

The Oppenheimer quote tagline defo awesome, but have a feeling Warner's and Legendary will probably go cliche i.e. 'The King has Arrived' or 'Behold, the King of Monsters' impossible to be worse than Pacific Rim's 'Go Big or Go Extinct' haha
