I read it through. Basically 2 extras in the movie reveal a couple sequences from a flashback scene which takes place in 1954. It doesn't reveal too much and we've known about a 1954 flashback for over a month and a half now. Plus extras tend to be given limited info about the scenes they're a part of. So I'm sure there's even more to these scenes than what they've shared.

He is supposed to be the tallest Godzilla yet so hes gonna have a lot of weight to carry too, so he might not even be able to do a hop.

I like the new slimmer version of him. Yet I did laugh thinking that with the first version since he stopped attacking he only sat there eating whales making him fat.

As a recording arts major, I can appreciate the work that went into this. I think the scenes leading up to Godzilla's second roar were a little poorly chosen and revealed a little too much right away, but the timing of the head and the roar was solid which redeems the previous few seconds quite nicely.

What're your guys' thoughts? Should the new Godzilla film spawn an epic series or do you think perhaps it should remain a stand alone movie?
master_of_magnetism1993Godzilla 2014 ForumWhat can kill Godzilla? Honest question.Dec 25, 2013Reply
I think for the sake of dramatic tension (let's assume the new film is following a similar plot to the original 1954 movie), whatever devise Dr. Serizawa develops to that can stop Godzilla and the mutos should be dangerous to everything on Earth. I don't expect the Oxygen Destroyer to re-appear, but perhaps some kind of virus or nanomite is created that has a chance of getting out of control when used. Will help keep the tone of hopelessness in this new film or series of films. It'd be a cool set-up for a sequel if the weapon did get out of control.

ZodgillaGodzilla 2014 ForumWhat can kill Godzilla? Honest question.Dec 25, 2013Reply
The only thing I can think of offhand is asphyxiation...
I previously expressed doubts about the oxygen destroyer appearing in this new film; however...
If it's portrayed as something that suffocates (literally removing oxygen), I can see that being deadly to the Big G...
This is assuming the creature actually breathes oxygen!

LOL! The crazy theories for me are the fans that are still hoping to see other Toho monsters in this new movie, even after it's been stated ad nauseum that there won't be ANY Toho creations at all (except the big G hisself)...

He wouldn't be the first director to lie. Or at least change his mind continuously throughout production. *cough* Michael Bay *cough*. Don't worry, though, I don't amount him to that... yet. But just to clarify, I wouldn't mind if he is around the 400 foot range. I really wouldn't. It's just that I know what I see and all of the visual evidence points towards at least 600 feet. And then there's what the director has said, which is very conflicting. We'll just have to wait and see. All I wanted was to throw out my opinion on what I thought may be some kind of additional hint when I played that game.

Durp004Godzilla 2014 Forum2014 Godzilla's height? Again?Dec 25, 2013Reply
Godzilla wouldn't be 200 feet tall tho, at his tallest movie wise he wa 100 meters and to be slightly taller(120-140 meters roughly) he would still have room to have incredible thick, or resistant skin. If you think a 100 meter monster would look extremely fat you're seriously overestimating the amount of thickness and toughness his individual skin lays would have.
Why would the director lie? If he said this godzilla would only be slightly taller and you've heard that and are aware it was legit why think you a viewer know better, or the director is lying for some reason?
mattman559Godzilla 2014 Forum2014 Godzilla's height? Again?Dec 25, 2013Reply
guys, Godzilla will be exactly 477 feet tall. i know, trust me on this one. Malcolm's dad told me. this is my serious face -_-
on a lighter note, anybody remember the Godzilla figure on the table behind the couch on Rosanne? i had that same exact figure, even the smaller one they made.
master_of_magnetism1993Godzilla 2014 Forum2014 Godzilla's height? Again?Dec 25, 2013Reply
And before someone comes and corrects me, YES, I'm aware Godzilla has always been relatively fat. (Let's face it, that's what it is.). But there's a difference between a cultivation of mass and Jabba the Hutt.
master_of_magnetism1993Godzilla 2014 Forum2014 Godzilla's height? Again?Dec 25, 2013Reply
Size plays a huge part in his durability. I understand he needs a thick hide, too, I get that. But if his skin was so thick that it can withstand military strikes, but he was only 200 feet tall, it'd be like watching a 2000 pound fat man waddle around the city. It'd be all packed together and he'd hardly be able to move. That or it'd be a shell. And, while he would still be a threat, from a movie goers perspective it wouldn't be the most threatening image.
