For all those who think Godzilla's height is going to push new extremes, you're all wrong.
Gareth Edwards confirmed in an interview with IGN the day before the Godzilla encounter that his Godzilla would only just be the tallest there's ever been. He compared the way he increased Godzilla's size to the way the certain skyscrapers outdo one another by small margins as a new "tallest" building is constructed. He confirmed that his Godzilla would be well within the margin for only just being taller than the previous Godzillas, and the chances of Godzilla's height exceeding about 120-140 meters is slim to none. If he does touch 400 feet, that will likely be his absolute limit. I doubt Edwards would push things that far based on what he said in the interview.
Don't believe me? Watch the interview yourself.
There are a few threads trying to explain how his height is 779' and matches the 555 street building in San Fran, but those estimations are made by kids who don't know what they're talking about. They have no clue how to take camera angle, relative distance, and physics into account in their estimations.
Godzilla's going to be well within the limit of less than 400 feet. That much is almost guaranteed by Edwards himself in that interview Again, if you don't believe me then search for and watch the interview for yourself.
Godzilla is only just going to be in his tallest form, likely less than 120 meters in height, 140 at absolute max.
this cant conferm his height
@king, Anime is not cute or gay, is just anime, and the forums are made to discuss whatever the members wants with the respect they deserve to themselves, apart from whether we like it or not.
I'm not sure about if I would wathc an anime with Godzilla, all depends of the kind of the show tho.
Well, really, I think both ways are good. I like him as a hero, protecting the earth from whatever threats show up, be it other monsters, aliens, or mankind, just as long as it doesn't go over the top by having him actually trying to save mankind like a superhero, like in the 70s movies. And I like him as a villain, an unstoppable force of nature that punishes mankind for its arrogance and causes death and destrucion in his path, as long as that doesn't go too over the top by making him actually malicious and going out of his way to kill random people, like in GMK (although that's still one of my favorite Godzilla movies). However, like most of the other people on this thread, I like him best as an anti-hero, both saving the earth in order to defend his territory and destroying cities.
so Toho has made anime before, but they still not making one about Godzilla, and you know why?
because is such a BAD idea, Godzilla is a badass monster, and anime is cute and gay, Toho know it, so why you no, just, you know, enjoy Godzilla movies, and accept the monster just as he is and stop posting "I want Godzilla anime!"?
*Sigh* Don't the people who constantly suggest this ever stop to consider that, if a Godzilla anime was a good idea, it would have already been done by now?
Also, a Godzilla FPS would only be good if it was made up of both FPS levels with a human character and third person beat em' up levels with Godzilla, like the 2005 King Kong game. In fact, that might make a good video game adaptation of Godzilla 2014, depending on whether there are a good number of action scenes with Aaron-Taylor Johnson's character, and also relatively small monsters that are not immune to gunfire and/or human antagonists (for example, if M.U.TO. was a malevolent organization that came into conflict with the protagonists).

toho has made anime and godzilla is what their best known for oh and PONED

when will all of you understand... Godzilla is not "kawai", stop trying to fuck up our monster with all the anime stuff! Christ!
you watched the "heavily edited" american version of Gojira, namely Godzilla king Of The Monsters. in the origional gojira he was 50 meters tall, not even close to 400 feet. however marvels godzilla was just barely short of 500 feet so i do agree that godzilla will be 5-600 feet tall.
I believe all adaptations of Godzilla are great, for each one means something to an individual. Personally, I've never been too fond of Godzilla being a, "Hero". Kinda silly and corny for my taste. I in fact, did love him as a villian(Which he was in the original). Overall I think him being an anti hero or a, "Force of nature" is the coolest because it is highly believeable. I see Godzilla as an actual animal. Not one with a lust to bring death, and not one with King Kong-like intellect that understands humans and wants to save them because he, "cares" lol. I picture Godzilla as a hurricane. He is so massive and so powerful. Destruction isn't what he chooses..Its just his nature. As I said, I picture him as an actual animal. i hope he is this way in the new film.
Oh, Christ. I feel like an idiot. But the height is still similar. And if that's the height of an older form of Godzilla, then the new one will be bigger than that. I still think the evidence all points to him being at least 600 feet. I mean, I just watched the original "Godzilla" the other night, and they flat-out say he's over 400 feet tall, and apparently that was the smallest size of him from the Japanese series.
What you see is the Tokio Tower (332.6 m -1,091 ft) besides the Tokio Skytree (634 m -2,080 ft).

As for the size

MASTER welcome to the forums, if you can't go searching thread by thread you can use the SEARCH BOX on this site above of our RECENT STATUS UPDATES :)

I know, but it is made for both the 60th anniversary and for the marketing campaign of the new film. And Gareth Edwards said that this Godzilla will be the biggest one yet. So, if you mean that the Godzilla in the game is based on something from the past, then the new one will only be bigger. I know it's all just a cartoony game, but I think that since the main speculation is that the new King is gonna be around 800 feet tall, and the fact that in the game he takes up roughly 2/3 of a 1000-foot tall building, it may be a subtle, even unintentional confirmation.
The game doesnt preesent godzilla 2014
I prefer the the black Gigan, but the green Gigan is still awesome.
If you are taking longer than 20 minutes to write and post; you can open a new window and refresh the site there, so you will be still logged,(I recomend you dont use Privacy mode) and is easy copy your thread before post itm to make it sure you are no going to lose it, I think is the way used by most of us, (use CTRL C with the keyboard).
Just gonna copy this from the senselss discussion I made a bit ago:
"So, I'm playing that new Godzilla game released by Toho online and I noticed that the King's height takes up about 2/3 the height of the Eiffel Tower. The tower is just over a thousand feet tall. It could just be a design choice for this game, but what if Godzilla is indeed around 750-800 feet tall in the reboot? I don't know if anyone's pointed this out yet as I don't have too much time to explore every discussion, but I thought I'd just bring it up. You're guys' thoughts?"
Sorry, I'm new to forums and like I said, I don't have time to go through each discussion, so I took the lazy way out.
Congratulations making the 7th thread about Godzilla's size in 10 days. Can't this stuff just be put in one of the other half dozen threads about Godzilla's size?
how did u get to the city
I don't think it really has a name, but here's the link.
http://godzilla.jp/
I dont think it's so much that he has been a hero for mankind before, but it's mainly him preotecting planet earth from any danger from space or here on earth, this is his home more then us.
@ Linkzilla, if you have visited Scified you will have noticed the option to "stay logged in", atm this is in test phase but once all the bugs are ironed out we will be rolling out this feature across the whole network.
Please bare in mind that all of our sites are custom-made, from the ground since prometheus-movie com, as such, while we have ultimate control to implement whatever features we want into the forums, each feature has to be coded in, from scratch by our Admin and Coder Chris Picard.
While we understand your frustration, we do ask for your patience and consideration - Thanks.
i always prefered anti hero or villain. never liked him as hero. made him too cheesey
i think linkzilla is right. i dont really think they would care all that much about scientific fact. many on the forum would care including myself but the average movie goer wouldnt
My favorite is from Godzilla's Revenge, when Minya jumps down onto a log that Gabara is standing on to catapult him about 2 miles away!
@ZODGILLA I think you severely overestimate modern audiences when you say that they are "more sophisticated than in the 1950s." And even if they were, I doubt most of them would know what would happen if you removed oxygen from seawater, and they'd probably be perfectly willing to suspend their disbelief for that bit of pseudo-science.
Thanks for the help, DinoSteve :) That's a pretty stupid system.
This game is so awesome, I've been playing it all day, so far.

@ Colonel Carbine: I'm fairly sure there will be no oxygen destroyer in this film, because audiences in 2014 are much more sohisticated than in the 1950s. Think about it: how would removing oxygen from seawater make anything disintegrate? In fact, removing oxygen from water would just leave you with a crapload of hydrogen gas, which wouldn't harm Godzilla at all. Not to mention you'd be killing all sea life in the area also, by removing oxygen...
I know the character of Serizawa is in this new movie, but it doesn't mean that everything connected to the original will be...
destroya is serizawa
C'mon people, no Toho monsters. As much as we'd LOVE to see that, we won't get that this time around. Plus, I really like the idea of seeing new creative modern monsters.
