1964's Mothra vs. Godzilla. but of course, being 5 or 6 years old, I skipped to the fight secne.
I have had a LOT of luck with Invasion of the Astro Monster, and a bit of luck with The Terror of MechaGodzilla.
I don't think we're that far removed Godzillafan1995. It's simply just who you know. As you get older, people may have a greater appreciation for that kind of thing.
Godzilla all the way dude.
^Absurd thought and quite impossible. Warner Brothers is still very involved with this movie and the communication over a high profile movie like this has various people from both Legendary and Warner Brothers speaking and working with each other to get work done. You can bet WB suits have seen as many shots as Legendary. The liklihood of that possibly happening would be a 1 out of 1,000,000,000 chance.
Either Godzilla vs. The Thing or maybe GMK. :)
thats a good point linkzilla. couldve been just a mistake
I just had a thought, and it's probably completely wrong, since I know nothing about how things work in the industry, but maybe, because Warner Bros. is only distributing the film and not producing it, they don't actually see the trailers until they are finished and just assumed that the videos were a real leak?
DAIKAIJU_DANIELLE legendary just tweeted about godzilla, 60 years of histroy, what a coincidence the day this troll shows us that these were fake SOMETHING popped up about godzilla FINALLY from legendary
Warner Bros. can't legally tell anyone to remove something that isn't their property. To risk something would be highly unethical and extremely bad for the studio.
well it was on reddit so idk. we need more info
For God's sake! Can't we get something real?!
I'm getting SICK of these fake pictures and videos!
i guess thats your generation, because people in my generation (born in the 90's) don't want to watch a godzilla movie if it is in japanese.
I think we should wait for Chris's input...if he has any...
i'm... i'm confused, why did warner bros request the videos to be removed if they were fake, why didn't they tell chris that they were fake.
I actually like the American cut of Godzilla 2000 more myself as well. But I'll admit the dubbing isn't grade A, but it's tolerable. Still no one I introduce Godzilla to for the first time will watch it because, typically, anything dubbed is pretty hard to take seriously.
Why isn't anyone commenting on this? That is AWESOME! I envy you at the moment. I actually wasn't sure if Haruo was still around. Its also cool that he feels the "98" film was its own rendition as opposed to a failed attemped on Godzilla. However, Im am very sure he is much more accepting of the new Godzilla in terms of what it looks like so far.
Besides that, I hope you had a great time at the festival :)
i dislike the japanese version of 2000 due to the lack of sound effects, it just feels more rushed than the american version, and the dubbing isn't that bad for a godzilla movie, i guess it depends on the preference which is also lincked to the decade fans were born.
idk, there's something defeinetely wrong, somewhere....somethings smells fishy but yet i dont know WHAT smells fishy about the whole wb taking it down, whoever your source is chris, hes an epic troll and a good one at that, made some legit "leaks" for all i know
I was JUST coming to mention this.
Oh well. Thats really dissapointing. It is well done, and awesome made. Still, this proves that we are most likely not getting a trailer in the next few days.
But thats the internet i guess.
And here I thought these came from a super reliable source! I expected better from the fine folks here at godzilla-movies.com!
Interesting... the dubbing for Godzilla 2000 typically turns people off for me. They prefer watching it in the original language with subtitles and my Japanese copy of Godzilla 2000 is long gone...
Thought so... I even mentioned that this could've been manipulated in after affects here.
Of course I was thrown off by the WB take down. Now the question is... why did WB ask it to be removed? Or did they?
I wish people would stop asking who would win in a fight of "Godzilla 2014 vs. X," we know practically nothing about him yet other than that he will be 350 feet and have Atomic Breath- we don't know how powerful that Atomic Breath is, how resilient his hide will be, whether or not he will have regenerative powers, nothing. It's even worse with "Muto vs. X" fights, since we know nothing at all about them.
also youll notice how he stole my fanart at the end of the video, im not even mad, im impressed
For some odd reason, Godzilla 2000 is ALWAYS successful when I introduce someone to Godzilla.
Godzilla's Revenge, with a healthy side-dose of Son of Godzilla.... However, on a more serious note, I've had success with Godzilla 2000.
thanks gman and everyone else, also what about g 84/85
Then I'd largely stick to the Millennium series if that's the case. They're stand alone films and easily accessable to a larger audience. Unlike the Heisei series which is still fairly accessable, but sometimes with the baggage of being strictly connecting with prior films and some shoddy effects.
I know someone who usually mocks Godzilla/daikaiju movies, and I had him watch Tokyo SOS, and he actually liked it, so I guess SOS is a good one to show people who aren't too familiar with the genre. He thought it was awesome; it's not one of his favorite movies now or anything, but thinking it's "awesome" is a good start!
He did laugh at some parts of it, yeah, but still... the overall impression was good.
what about people who arn't into older movies, i showed 1 of my friends gojira, but they weren't interested because they are not into old black and white movies.
I've generally had a lot of luck with GMK, the Kiryu movies and Godzilla vs. Biollante. But it really depends on the person. For example my girlfriend enjoys the earlier movies more. But she's a little more educated in film studies than the average joe and can typically see right through the flaws of the 90s-00s movies.
I would, probably reccomend either Godzilla (1954) or GMK, being those are my favorite movies.
1. Jet Jaguar.
2. T-Rex.
3. Imoogi but just the Dragon Form, if you mean the snake form, then Kumonga wins
4. Independence Day Ships (I hate that movie, but the spaceships were prety cool)
5. Aligator.
6. Jet Jaguar (maybe?)
7. The smog monster.
8. Godzilla.
9. Clover (Zilla gets killed by missiles, with Clover they used a nuke)
ebirah and the smog monster
@Zodgilla
I can only assume you're speaking about our exchange a month or so back. If I'm correct, I never flammed you, but there were many fallacies in what you were saying. There still are.
I don't think Madison was insinuating that the camp factor of the old movies needs to be "expunged" in order for the film to succeed. That's a rather bold statement considering camp/cheese is part of Godzilla's legacy-- like it or not. I'm pretty sure Madison knows that too. In order for that to go away completely you're practically going to have to exterminate the majority of Godzilla movies in the world and assure no one in history can ever watch them again. Much like the Adam West Batman is still part of Batman's legacy and continues to have an affect on various cultural outlets, the original Godzilla series will as well.
What is being said here, however, is that the reboot needs to stand on its own and prove this character/genre can be made without the camp factor. Which we all know it can, it's simply convincing the general audience that this is the case. In order to do that the filmmakers walk a fine line, like with most properties, to create a marketable product while staying true to its predecessors.
If every Godzilla fan could match your estimated contribution, victory is assured!!!
5 times??? Seriously??? That's awesome :-) I've only ever watched one movie that many times in theaters. I guess I'll have to step up my game for the King!
