I see dirt that was created by bodies dragged along the ground by wind and moentum from their being thrown from the train.
For this movie they have wiped the slate clean, and it has been confirmed multiple times by multiple sources that this movie features no Toho monsters.
Whether they continue on after this is anyone's guess. Right now the future of the film is a big unknow. Just because it will likely do well with G fans doesn't mean it's gauranteed to be a success, so we have to be patient on that front.
However, if it does continue with sequels, I personally hope they don't use Toho monsters. None of them really have a place in this new universe that Legendary have created in my opinion. I mean I love them all, don't get me wrong, but to me this new franchise deserves a fresh new line up of monsters and enemies for Godzilla to fight. Also my opinion is that if Legendary uses Toho monsters, it's not going to be doing the originals any justice. The old Toho monsters are classics, but they have little to no longevity compared to Godzilla himself when it comes to what you can get away with and how they can be designed in any kind of modern technology.
For instance, one of Godzilla's most popular enemies is King Ghidorah. He's a badass in the original movies, but how realistic or accessible is a golden three headed Dragon in today's world with today's technology? Speaking honestly and realistically, the answer is zero. Such a monster would never pass for something realistic or grounded in reality in any way.
Mechagodzilla is a robot built to look like Godzilla, but that serves no purpose whatsoever. Designing a robot to look and move like Godzilla actually limits it from an anatomical standpoint, and a human shape like the Jaegers in Pacific Rim would suit human pilots much better. MechaG would never exist in a realistic setting either.
Spacegodzilla, not so much. Mothra is just a giant moth and that's kind of lame. Battra doesn't translate because it's an entirely fictional creature without any real world animal equivalent. Gigan is a strange space cyborg. Again, no realistic quality. Ebirah is a giant lobster, and like Mothra, kind of lame in a realistic setting. Rodan is supposedly a pterodactyl, but I don't see a long extinct dinosaur believably holding onto some form of living flesh/anatomy to allow it to radiate and grow to monstrous proportions so he's out.
Kumonga and Kamakura, possibly, as they are based on real animals that are interesting and naturally dangerous in the right species and sizes.
Anguirus could pass as an armadillo or a giant hedgehog, and as the ultimate underdog I think he and his charm could possibly at least hold something of a place in the new universe. However I still doubt they'll use him.
But as you can see, the list of Toho monsters that would feasibly pass for realistic creatures and pull it off in a way that would actually work on screen is rather slim. From a realistic standpoint, and eliminating the Godzilla Monster Line Up fanboyness that is going around from the equation and speaking plainly with logic and simple reasoning, not many of Toho's monsters would actually make it in a realistic setting like that which was created for this new movie.
It's definitely not Godzilla, because as you stated in your post the rest of his spines are missing. This is definitley a Muto of some kind, but is it the one from the toy box? We don't know. Nothing about these spikes/claws looks anything like the one from the toy box, so is it the flying Muto? We don't know.
Something that a lot of people think has been confirmed is that there are only two monsters fighting against Godzilla, but that in fact hasn't been confirmed, and I think this could be a third Muto that might make an appearance against the Big G.
The Empire Magazine is the final Godzilla design.
The Brazil design was for a locensing expo where different companies who want to come in and check out what movies, games, franchises, etc. and see if they want to make anything for these things. In the case of Godzilla, I doubt they got the final version because they weren't even done filming at that time. Godzilla's design was still under development, and while the Brazil photo is similar, it's not Godzilla's final design.
The Empire Magazine has confirmed that it's his final design, so enjoy it!
Honestly I don't see it. I see his skin glowing a reddish color becuase there is fire right next to him, below him, and in his right hand as if he grabbed a plane or something.
But I see no burns at all. I do see his gills though!
Hi Def and in all his glory! Check his neck and his gills are there! Awesome!

Yeah I'm almost certain they are radiation burns (could be wrong though). But there are also slashesin his skin and I'm not sure what they are from, muto maybe?
both are the same design, lighting my friend, lighting can turn somthing into anything else
If the winged muto is a force of nature they could reference it to the lengends about the Orang Bati.
@NPINKHAM19
You're not alone. =D
And remember, I love you all!
I actually like the thought of the flying MUTO being bat like in appearance. It might make the monster a little more scary.
alright, this might be a little lengthy, but bare with me.
Intro: so we start out with a camera panning through a prehistoric jungle, and slowly come upon a VERY big prehistoric crocodilian. So our friend Mr. crocodilian is enjoying his daily sun bath when suddenly astroids start to shower onto the earth. our friend jumps back into the river he came from and swims away. Our next shot is of our friend swimming out of the delta of a river and making a break for it into the open ocean, while we get a slow camera out zoom and see a HUGE asteroid about to hit earth. ( this is the one big daddy that killed the dinosaurs). End of part one of intro.
Part two: 1954. We are now inside of a Japanese submarine. This sub is test firing artillery, while over watching bomb testing in the distance. the camera then zooms in on men at radars and we notice one of them has begun to pick up on something big. being confused as to why there is something bigger than a submarine, he calls for the captain of the vessal. the two discuss the issue ( in Japanese of course, but with subtitles) and try to locate where this "thing" is headed. in the middle of the captain's sentance, when suddenly some equimpment ( don't know the name at the moment) starts to pick up on some strange oceanic noises. the crew decide that whatever is making these sounds is MUCH bigger than a whale, for it is too deep of a sound. as the captain begins to radio the coast guard, the whole sub is slammed by something big, sending people to the floor and damaging equipment. as alarms start to sound and red lights flash, the captain looks outside one of the windows of the sub, and comes eye to eye with none other than....Godzilla!!!
That's really all I have for right now, but what I was thinking for the rest of the intro was kinda what Shazothehedgehog said in his topics about his ideas about the godzilla game ( part two).
Hope you guys enjoyed and give us some more ideas Plz!!!!! :)
if you watch this in slow mo, both backwards and forwards, you will see that there is a distinct swinging motion to it
This muto......is a real mixed up beast. I spot several pieces of other animals thrown in.........including human......lol. Check out the cloven feet.....horse like
Now that I have gotten a closer look, I actually like the look of it now. It still reminds me of Cloverfield but that's alright. This enemy is gonna be beast and I can't wait to see the flying MUTO.
^ lol i think you mean the other way around
@Dragonlord Tevin
You should watch Monsters. I don't think it's going to be what you expect.
Looks VERY accurate to OHMEGA 18's drawing on Deviant Art :D
@ThisMeinteil
haha! I can't believe the 2nd kaiju is still flying under the radar, though. There were two different accounts of that 20-minute preview where the big secret was supposed to be kept, but one gave away the clue and another indirectly pointed to the same thing.
Without even looking first, I wonder if you go and review the back fins of the kaiju hidden in the smoke of the HALO jump that you might see back fins like in this freeze frame.
Are the arms interchangeable? Cause that 2nd pic looks like it is only one arm, with 2 long "fingers."
@ RF
Zilla, maybe. :-P
@ Hulkjimi
Don't think it's a claw. It looks a little like that in the pic. But, if you watch the trailer again, it doesn't really. The two smaller spines are shaped more like horns.
If I had to guess, it's the back spines of a different Godzilla-like kaiju.
Great! Thanks for sharing!
Seems that these toys have more detail than I thought at first. I really doubt that what we are looking here is the winged Muto.
Thanks to @NINJADOMOESQ on twitter for tweeting these out for me!
I think it's the MUTO claw.
i also agree with madison
^Doesn't look like it. Looks like both toys have little to no articulation. Admittedly it's hard to tell from these pics though. I'm mostly guessing.
This close to release it's virtually impossible to cancel a movie. I imagine they're simply polishing the final product at this stage.
I made a discussion about this a while back, check it out if you want! Just click my name and click the my topics tab.
your serious. you be the judge of that
my qustion is will it have articulation
With no other monsters, it wouldn't be your average Godzilla game so I doubt they'll make one. If they do, it might involve both the humans and Godzilla.
Well, that's a good reference. But the MUTO is a force of nature. Heck, godzilla can breathe fire, swim, and is a reptilian( although due to his gills, he might be part amphibian also). Calling godzilla a dinosaur or a dragon is sort of correct but he's not exactly a normal animal. The MUTO falling into the water, I have no idea what caused it to do that.
The guy who has the bond with Godzilla.
@Poppasmurf; The movie isn't cancelled at all, no idea why that guy is saying that. The trailers and movie posters have been released, if that's not proof enough I have no idea what planet that person is from...
Pure Fiction. The movie has not been cancelled, no idea where that guy got that idea from. The trailers, posters and some merchadise have been released, if that's not proof enough I have no idea what planet that person is from... I am guessing he must be trolling.
I will be moving this post over to the Godzilla Forums so it gets seen by the proper audience. :)
