Titan of Water
MemberBaragonAug-06-2019 5:29 PMThis has no connection to the poems I’m writing. Since I got bored and writing exposition is easier than poetry, I decided to make a fan made opening crawl for the Godzilla vs Kong movie. Hope you enjoy.
Our time as rulers is over. For thousands of years the Earth has been the domain of mankind, but our reign is fleeting like a vapor. Arrogance and irresponsibility has left our ecosystems in jeopardy, and have awakened the rulers of the planet before our time. Massive creatures, preferably called titans, are beginning to rise from their deep slumber. Last year, a massive surge of titans were awakened after the malevolent King Ghidorah was unleashed by an eco-terrorist group led by the infamous Alan Jonah. Under his control, the titans wreaked havoc on the earth. However, one titan did not bow. Godzilla, the titan who five years prior defended the earth from the parasitical MUTOs, defied Ghidorah. With the assistance of the titan Mothra and humanity, Godzilla defeated his arc-nemesis, and took his place as the new King of the Monsters.
Those who experienced the titan’s rampage and lived are most likely in a crowded shelter, with less than comfortable conditions and nobody but themselves to grieve the loss of their loved ones. In areas not affected by titan activity, paranoia is high. A boy cannot go outside to play without fearing he will be squished like an insect. Teenagers no longer want the school day to end because they want to spend time with their friends. They want school to end because they want to get home safe, if there is a home to get back to when they return. Parents wonder when they return home from work if their will be no children to provide for, the very reason they went to work in the first place. All fear to return home only to find what once was a house, a giant footprint.
After the overthrow of King Ghidorah, the titans have become docile under Godzilla’s rule, and have miraculously begun to heal the damaged environments across the earth. Godzilla has defended cities from those titans who defy him. He is championed as a hero by many, but many others think it is only inevitable before he turns on them. They wait for his battle cry, calling the titans to siege their homes. They wait to be buried in a footprint as their grave. They wait to become ash from his atomic breath. Only time will tell which side is right.
But the end of our reign has not come fully yet. Their is one final battle to take place before our new ruler is decided. One final challenger to the throne. On a mysterious island the crypto-zoological organization Monarch had held secret for decade, the titans are gathering. But they are uninvited guests. For there is another king. Kong, the massive ape Monarch discovered on an expedition just days after the end of the Vietnam War. Kong isn’t happy with his new visitors. And he knows who must be to blame. Their leader. The Alpha. Their King. And Kong is not about to be told what to do by a King he’s never met, especially in his own home.
As the battle, prophesied for thousands of years by the ancients, draws closer, a dark human conspiracy threatens to wipe out both man and monster. It’s the twilight of the Age of Man. And as the night of the Titan Age draws closer, we don’t know whether it will be a gentle sleep, or a nightmare...
