MemberMothra LarvaeNov-24-2014 10:58 AMIt has a decent amount of words, mostly in English. It definitely has more pictures than words, though.

MemberMothra LarvaeNov-24-2014 11:46 AMI'm messing with you. From the way you worded it, it sounded as if you were asking if there was a language/words in the comic. I know you mean curse words, foul language, obscenities.
I've read a few issues. It probably doesn't go beyond 'hell', 'damn', and 'crap', and those are probably used sparringly. It's meant to be approachable by pretty much anyone.

MemberMothra LarvaeNov-24-2014 12:57 PMMost of the cursing is censored by asterisks and other characters, for example Steven Woods often says "F*@#!!!" and things like that. The comic doesn't really contain any true obscene language, it can just be very graphically violent at some points.

The King of the Monsters
MemberMothra LarvaeNov-24-2014 2:21 PMIt certainly isn't near the graphic gore level of any Gamera movies. The most graphic battles are (understandably) the ones featuring Destoroyah, which mostly consist of him slicing large bloody wounds in other monsters. Orga gets blown up into greenish goo at one point, but it's not really that graphic. Gigan gets roughed up pretty bad a few times, but thankfully he is partially robotic so it's not very gory. There's a battle between Anguirus and Mechagodzilla that gets pretty brutal for Anguirus, but not nearly as bad as in Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla. Overall, I'd say the graphic violence is about at the level it is in the most violent Godzilla films.

MemberBaragonNov-24-2014 2:23 PMThe showa gamera films weren't that graphic, but the heisei sure was.
Other than that, pretty much what ^ said.

The King of the Monsters
MemberMothra LarvaeNov-24-2014 2:29 PMThere were a few moments in the Showa Gamera films that measure up there with the Heisei ones though, namely the fight scenes in Gamera vs. Barugon and the scene where Guiron slices up Space Gyaos in Gamera vs. Guiron.

MemberMothra LarvaeNov-24-2014 3:51 PMPretty much what everyone else has said. I have all the comics available so far. IDW keeps it tame, but still realistic to a degree. Now the old Dark Horse series on the other hand, that got pretty gory back when it was released. Godzilla King of the Monsters #1 & 2 have blood running from his mouth and nose cused by a virus. Dark Horse did the Alien series nas well.
