How intellegent is Godzilla? In the movie we see that Godzilla is quite smart. He is able to kill both of the MUTOs in uncoventioal ways that normally wouldn't b thought of by instinct. I wonder if we could go as far as to say Godzilla is some-what, consious. We see Godzilla displaying emotions like pain, glory, and possibly anger. Also; what if Godzilla could form packs or partnerships with other members of Godzillas or other animals? Does he have some sort of partnership with other animals like Rodan? I would go more into deatil but I want you guys to brainstorm. (bassicaly I'm too busy at the moment to work on this) Sorry but there won't be a Legendary Origin today. :( Next week will be Gigan.

You kidding? Of course Legendary is concious, his breath after killing the male.

His look of agony, stress, and exhaustion after the building fell on him. His roar of triumpth when he is going to sea, his stare of ownage after he roars for the first time at the male.

Good grief.

Has there ever been any doubt that he is self-conscious? Has any version of Godzilla not at least displayed emotions like anger?

Ah, little biology lesson here:

Any organism that is awake is conscious and self-aware. Those are some of the fundementals of living. It may not have the smarts to dictate what itself is or go off of anything but instinct, but every orginism on the planet owns a mission for self-preservation and then reproduction. Otherwise, none of us would be here.

However, judging an animal's intelligence is another story. As for Godzilla (2014), I'd say his intelligence is indeed much higher than the ordinary reptile, displaying creative thinking, planning out forms of attack, and learning from his enemy's actions. Those are the signs of a very intelligent animal.

MECHA RODAN - What a very interesting question! I'm of the opinion that Edwards' Godzilla evidences a considerable amount of intelligence - to the point of possibly being sapient like you and me! Consider his expressions and overall nature during the film; it's quite obvious that there's much more going on behind those large eyes than simple instinct. I wouldn't be at all surprised if Godzilla had the mentality to form partnerships with other members of his kind or with other giant super-predators for mutual benefit! Thank you so much for presenting this thought-provoking topic to us! :)

I've always thought Godzilla as intelligent. No matter what incarnation. And Legendary Godzilla definiately showed intelligence as well as complex emotions.
