True American Godzilla
MemberMothra LarvaeJun-29-2014 7:43 AMRecently, the US Military is working on a new battle suit called TALOS (Tactical Assault Light Operator Suit) This suit is expected to be out in the battlefield 2018 (officially, who knows how far ahead the military experiment really is). This suit (seen below) is armored (bulletproof) and is supposed to have lifesupport, enchance strength and speed (and have wall-crawling ability thanks to new tech inspired from a Gecko).
After hearing about this my mind said "Okay, how long before we get a 'tank' battlesuit designed/inspired off of this {see below}?"
"MechaGodzilla" battlesuits, can you picture it?

They say "fits like a glove" because gloves are hand-shaped, they work naturally around us. A Godzilla-shaped suit would be awkward, heavy, and the extra weight of the tail would slow us down a lot.
As much as I would love to see MechaGodzillas everywhere, its not idealistic

MemberMothra LarvaeJun-29-2014 9:28 AMHuman sized maechgodzillas? Unless it's like Destroyah where all te humans combine into one giant robot i rather have 1 giant Mechagodzilla fight the king. Also when are we humans just going to build robots that fiht other robots for war? So many lives would be saved evey year.

MemberMothra LarvaeJun-29-2014 11:18 AMCreating a gigantic mech would not be feasible until at least 30-50 years into the future. And the cost of maintaining such a thing would be horrendous. What we need is real AI and nanotech to be invented first. Not to mention finding extremely durable materials.
Realistically, a Mechagodzilla is not all that feasable as a weapon. At war, how tough would it be against a nuclear weapon?

"all the humans combine into one giant robot"
Normally, I'd be against something like Mechagodzilla appearing in the Legendary series, but if it was that ridiculously awesome, I might give it a pass!
