MemberMothra LarvaeMay-18-2014 2:03 PMHey Daikaiju fans!
Man, I cannot get over how incredible this new movie is! It seems to be doing marvelous in the box office as well! (Fingers crossed for a sequel!) Anyway, after viewing it for the fourth time, I noticed many amazing scenes that hit me hard (even to the point of tears) with it's majesty and overall awesomness!
My favorite scenes include:
-When the two Mutos unite for the first time. It's just such a touching scene, when they touch noses and rub eachothers faces together. <3 Especially when the Mommy Muto puts the Atomic bomb to here stomach so the babies can feed. Good God that's so freaking sweet.
-When the Mommy Muto gets close up and personal with Ford and Meralez. You can see every single wrinkle and detail on her face. It's so intense and you can't help but stiffen when she sees the flashing walkie-talkie light and gets closer.
-Godzilla's first introduction in Hawaii. No words for how incredible and powerful this is. It's just so right.
-When Joe Brody finds an old picture of him and his family when he returns to his house in Janjira. And when he looks up he sees the "Happy Birthday Dad!" banner his son made for him. He looks back down on the photo and has this peacful smile on his face. :')
-Godzilla's awakening in the ending. Makes me tear up everytime. I mean...he's the King of the Monsters and earth's savior. He restored balance.
But, of all these scenes, my favorite will always be the scenes showing the connection between Godzilla and Ford. Like when they have eye contact with eachother (I can't really explain the emotion the two share in that moment, you'll just have to see it for yourselves). Also when Godzilla and Ford save each other's lives. A minor scene is also when Goji and Ford collapse at the same time.
I dunno, I'm not saying it's a yaoi pairing or anything (OH GOD PLEASE DON'T MAKE THAT A THING) but I just think it's really cool how there's a human element within Godzilla as well. :)
So, what's your guys' favorite scenes? :)

MemberMothra LarvaeMay-18-2014 2:27 PMBesides the final fight scene and most if not all the scenes listed above, it's when joe and ford get back to joe's room and joe makes that big speech, it really give's an idea of why ford is so distant from his father.

MemberGiganMay-18-2014 2:48 PMThe last 20 minutes or so. My FAVORITE parts were the MUTO takedowns: The tail slap into a building and the Atomic Breath CPR. Plus, the Ford and Godzilla staring at each other part. I also liked the train scene on the bridge. It was very slow and suspenseful.

The flying muto emerging from the caccoon. The build up and aftermath were done so well. The emp pulses Joe losing his mind trying to tell them somethin's wrong. The decision to destroy it and the beautiful special effects of the cables surrounding it inside the compound. Then it breaks out destroys everything and makes the build up so worth it.

MemberMothra LarvaeMay-18-2014 6:56 PMI really liked the HALO jump sequence, especially after seeing Godzilla and the MUTO fighting with the doors closing, as well as the aftermath of hours of fighting (the shot of the destroyed San Francisco). I was in shock from the image, even if I saw it a billion times.

MemberMothra LarvaeMay-18-2014 9:23 PMMy favorite scene, by FAR was when ATJ was cornered by the Female MUTO after burning her babies, and all of the suden everything glows blue... I teard up, because that was the moment I knew that the movie brought the Big Guy back in ALL of his glory. Atomic breath and all. He rears up like a big ol' grizzly bear, and lets the Mamma-MUTO have it. I was never more satisfied with a scene in a film before.
the movie had a few shortcomings, but this one scene is worth the price of admission all on it's own.

MemberMothra LarvaeMay-18-2014 11:51 PMMy favourite scenes are:
- The opening title sequence.
- When the male MUTO first hatches from it's egg and starts killing all the workers and causing destruction.
- When the male MUTO starts attacking the airport in Haiiwi and Godzilla emerges from the ocean and arrives at the scene to fight it. Then later you see Ford's son watching Godzilla fighting the MUTO at the airport on the TV news channel.
- The female MUTO attacking Vegas.
- Godzilla's arrival at San Fransisco.
- I love absolutely everything about the last 20 - 30 minutes of the movie. The HALO jump, the final battle between Godzilla and the MUTOs, destroying the eggs, Godzilla's atomic breath and Godzilla's victory over the MUTOs and then heading back to the sea. That has got to be one of the most epic endings to a movie I have ever seen!

MemberMothra LarvaeMay-19-2014 12:40 AMThe scene where the flying MUTO was under the bridge and Ford and his teammate was like "do not move, do not even think about breathing" and then the radio just goes full blast. Scared the shit out of me.

MemberMothra LarvaeMay-19-2014 2:09 AM@Kurochan_24 - That was also another cool scene. It was so intense! If I was Ford I would have pooped my pants! The MUTOs were actually pretty scary creatures.
