I have an alternate theory (admitted trolling commencing):

The Muto aren't dentists. They're fisherman.

Those claws have evolved for millions of years for one purpose: to catch Godzilla's.....

....by the GILLS. Like little fishing hooks.

This May, the Muto will reel in Godzilla......
