MemberMothra LarvaeJan-01-2014 2:01 PMNo trolling here. I just want to start a conversation with you all regarding the events in this movie.
Do you think that Godzilla will appear first, or another monster? Im guessing that because Godzilla is the main creature, other(s) will appear first because Im sure Edwards wants Godzillas first scene to be outstanding and a build up. One speculation of mine was that the fights between Godzilla and the other monster(s) will be one battle with each. As in, there is a monster, and there is Godzilla. Godzilla kills the monster, that monster is out. On to the next monster. Not like the old movies where Godzilla had multiple brawls with a single monster. Then again, I can be 100% off. I just dont picture a creature walking away from a fight with this huge Godzilla, at all lol.
We all notcied that huge missle in the trailer. Everyone states its a nuke. Im sure it is, but I wouldnt know lol anyway, Im guessing they'll either bomb another monster, or Godzilla himself. I just think it would be amazing to see how Godzilla could take direct impact from a nuke, considering that the one in 98 died by a few jet missles -__-
Another speculation is on the Halo jump scene. I HIGHLY doubt those soldiers were being sent to KILL Godzilla. Many people think that. People also say that they will go on Godzilla and plant a bomb etc.. Ok, that is just really silly. If this movie is going for any realism, Im very sure they are being sent to help, rescue, or anything really, besides take out a 400ft+ monster. I dont even recall them having any weapons.
Hopefully this movie pans out that the world(as humans know it) is ending. That there is no hope for us. I also speculate that Godzilla would leave extreme amounts of radiation wherever he goes. Enough that would leave an area so radiated, it would kill anything over time.
Although this Godzilla will be showcased as the force of nature, Im speculating that to everyone else, he will seem so evil. It only makes sense. Hurricanes are apart of nature, yet, seem evil.
So your thoughts, and personal speculations?

MemberMothra LarvaeJan-01-2014 2:08 PMhas anyone thought of that the nuke could be the one that created godzilla just my thoughts. anyway it would be interesting if it was a three way fight instead of a single fight each

MemberMothra LarvaeJan-01-2014 2:16 PM@DINOBOY22, Hmm I did not think of that. It could be! And a three way fight between the monsters? That would be awesome!

MemberMothra LarvaeJan-01-2014 2:28 PMI didn't think about that. That is very clever. Also Akio your idea is probably pretty close to the movie.

MemberTitanosaurusJan-01-2014 2:38 PMI think I've heard a few people say that the large bomb is actually a very large and powerful airstrike-based payload, the largest type in the world. Of course, something like that wouldn't be able to kill Godzilla, but it may be enough to cause a bit of a flinch with the movie's realism, but in a way that doesn't really do any harm. For the HALO jump, I'm guessing scouts being sent in to the burning remains of cities to find out positions of survivors, as well as gain intel on the creatures themselves. Also, I can't help but feel that a scene eerily reminiscent of the first scene of the original Gojira would help set the tone and introduction of the big G-man, whilst giving old fans a bit of nostalgia.

GODZILLA HIMSELF
MemberMothra LarvaeJan-01-2014 3:48 PMif the bomb really is just a large bomb to be loaded onto a plane then it likely has little significance to the story. they will probably drop a whole bunch of these on godzilla at a time and what we see in the trailer is the process of them loading those bombs, so not really an important scene at all. this makes sence because in a trailer you wnat to make a movie look interesting but you don't want to reveal to much, so many times an insignificant event will be portrayed as important in a trailer. an example of this is 47 ronin. on the posters you see this crazy looking tatooed pirate guy and it makes you think that he has something important to do with the plot, but guess what, he pretty much has less than a minute of screentime and no importance whatsoever. however, they put him on the poster because his apearence grabs attention and fuels curiosity. i propose that the same thing is happening with the bomb in the godzilla trailer, it grabs our attention, but doesn't reavel anything big whatsoever, which is exactly what its supposed to do.

MemberMothra LarvaeJan-01-2014 4:30 PMWell the large bomb your talking about will not kill Godzilla because he can regenarate and get back up

MemberMothra LarvaeJan-01-2014 8:31 PM@SABERBLACKCROW, we have no info on Godzilla besides the facts that he will have atomic breath, and is the biggest.

MemberMothra LarvaeJan-01-2014 8:47 PMi kinda figured they would have a timeline about godzillas history from the last 60 years read by ken wantannbe and ikinda figured this would be godzilla first landfall in a long time and they weren't sure what to and then the mutos and all hell broke loose
