Kaiju are huge monsters from Japanese legend and popular culture. Rising from the oceans, they lay waste to cities and entire countries until defeated. The most popular is Godzilla, the huge lizard monster, though King Kong is the most recognizable in Western Cinema.
Very often, these creatures can be found in many licensed products, one of which is the iGaming industry. Below, we give you our rundown of the top three monster-themed kaiju slots.
Sharknado
The Sharknado franchise is a phenomenon in its own right. Part disaster movie, part monster flick, and part comedy, they have racked up an astounding six movies. These have included classics such as The 4th Awakens, Global Swarming, and The Last Sharknado: It is About Time. Added to this are two spin-off movies under the Lavalantula titles, which involve giant spiders that spit fire.
The franchise has also spawned a range of merchandise and licensed properties, one of which is the Sharknado slot game. It is a simple title, using four rows, five reels, and 23 pay lines. With a return to player of 95.95%, there are games with slightly higher advantages for the player if you are not a fan of the franchise. CasinoSmash has many of these slot games ranked, monster-themed or not, so you can make informed decisions on the most enjoyable ones.
Godzilla vs King Kong
Godzilla vs King Kong takes the two kings of kaiju and sends them into battle against each other. It has lots of graphics and design elements incorporating the symbolism between the two. Surprisingly, the game is unique in that each symbol spins individually, instead of the typical reel method used in many slots.
Created by Arrows Edge, symbols include reporters, civilians, and medical staff, along with letters and symbols which release varied amounts. There are a huge number of bonuses in the game, including Godzilla Spins and free King Kong Wilds. However, the bonus to look for is Titan's Duel, where you go into battle against Kong himself.
With many of the graphics being very pop art in style, it is not for those who love the classic cinema element of the franchise. However, if you want a fun, easy to get started with game that has bags of bonuses, then fans of both monsters can do much worse.
Kaiju

Kaiju is another monster-themed slot from Elk Studios. It has a high level of volatility, so you will be in for a wild ride. The whole graphic design has a cyberpunk, Tokyo dystopia feel to it. The studios concentrate on putting out high-quality titles instead of doing them at speed, and it shows. It may not have big-name licenses or characters attached to it, but it looks fantastic and is a great game.
Unlike most slots, there is a backstory involved in this one as you assist cyborg HA-42 on her quest to defeat the kaiju pitted against her. This is done in a slot game that has 7776 ways to win on 84 fixed pay lines. If you are a fan of online slots and big monsters, then Kaiju is the pick of the bunch.
