Not to be a killjoy, but what I read from the original article was the guy asked Dougherty if the Oxygen Destroyer was going to either make a cameo or be a major plot point, and all Dougherty said was "Yes." The way I read it, Dougherty only confirmed the OD will be featured in the film somehow, either as a cameo or a plot device (provided he wasn't just screwing with the guy).
I hope this film doesn't become more like Pacific Rim than Godzilla 2014, i don't want to see too little of Godzilla but too much would just make his appearances not special anymore.

I feel like the Servums serve Godzilla, as he's essentially the King of the Giant monster ecosystem. In fact I feel like most of the Monsters either serve Godzilla or run, very few will try to fight. Regardless I can't wait to see this G in action, he's going to be insanely OP.
They could possibly have to use it on Ghidorah, and this in turn makes Destroyah. That would give GvK a big enemy to fight.
Heavily agreed, if G14 had the fight scenes shown, it could of been a lot more entertaining.

^^I agree, the last movie didn't even show a F#*@ing fight? through the kids TV? I shook my head. Gareth Edwards even patted his own back saying along the lines that your are supposed to have a fight here but I chose not to have it here. He didn't want to follow a pattern. I must admit that is admirable for an artist to break out of a box, I want to respect his vision of how a giant monster movie should be narrated.... but I cant in this situation! we have been waiting an hour into the movie to see the character the movie was freaking titled after! could you imagine if they did this for a superman or batman movie!? the reason your supposed to have a fight scene there is because we all have been waiting for some kind of fight!!! Its to break the boring drama that has been happening!!! sorry had to vent. G14 could have been more epic.
Well the only way I see it is through a possible way to exit the film and create an introduction to GVKK. Im sure we will have to wait until the end of the movie to see a way it might be introduced to start a premise for GvKK? I mean the world would have to press their governments somehow to get rid of these monsters, and that's possibly how they introduce the Oxygen Destroyer. There are 4 monsters wrecking havoc in the world and their cities. Im sure there is room to introduce the idea or at least the blue prints for the OD.
similar to what they did in the prequels for star wars, they had that hologram of the deathstar briefly showing. maybe a fun way to introduce the OD in that way?
it would be interesting if Godzilla does fight a giant Servum in the end. Someone mentioned that there are 2 different kinds of Servum, a flying type and an underground worm type. maybe a giant flying Servum would be cool to fight. It would be like Godzilla fighting another flying Godzilla like creature. that would be cool.
I hope the same passion is put into the thought of King Ghidorah for this movie. According to those cave paintings it looks like we will have a traditional king ghidorah, but who knows.

I don't know why it would be needed.. it just does not fit with the theme of this series of movies. The original had it.. because they needed to kill Godzilla... but this series is not the same as the original. I don't see how it would fit in to the story... imo.
G. H. (Gman), That's understandable. It's nice that they're at least mentioned. I still think they'll make at least a small appearance in some manner. But the new monster Servum will still be in it. It was in the trailer.
I'm curious if it will get a DVD release. I like Netflix and all, but I prefer to have physical copies of movies.
I at least hope that we get to see them in some way.

There's no confirmation that they will appear. Merely that they are part of the timeline. There were also many monsters that were part of the Kiryu timeline, but we didn't see all of them on screen. It doesn't mean we won't see any of them, but there's been no confirmation that we'll see them onscreen.

I believe it has been confirmed that Anguirus, Rodan, Kamacuras, Orga, Dagahra (first seen in Rebirth of Mothra 2), and Dogora (from the 1964 movie by the same name) will appear. How much a role each monster will have remains unknown. They may be making minor appearances since the official plot says that the monsters appeared suddenly at the end of the 20th century. This means that we may/will see most of these monsters during the beginning of the film, assuming during the first few scenes we see the war between man and Kaiju before mankind flees Earth. Also, a new monster is being introduced. Servum, which originated from Godzilla cells. So yes, there will be more kaiju. The movie is called Godzilla Monster Planet/Godzilla Planet of the Monsters for a reason. It's not much of a monster planet if there aren't other monsters.

Okay, riggzamortis86, I did some re-checking. Godzilla DOES have visible eyes! In the scene from when the humans were leaving Earth 20,000 years ago, Godzilla has visibly glowing red eyes. Later on, in the scene where the returning humans are engaging him, we can see that he has small but visible eyes if you pause at the right time, and they look kind of blue.
As to the atomic breath, the supplementary material that came in the early days of the movie's announcement had Godzilla using his atomic breath to melt part of the Himalayas after 2000 thermonuclear bombs were detonated to crack the tectonic plates in an attempt to trap him. Now, the shot we have of it has him blowing stuff up, but that's probably just human ships and whatnot being destroyed, so it makes sense they'd explode.
Given the prior information, I'd say that the beam is most likely a vaporization beam.
SciFi Japan says the Netflix release is either "late 2017 or early 2018." I imagine it will be anywhere from December to February or March even.

^So far there is no date for the Netflix release. All we know is that it will open in Japanese theaters in November. It will come on Netflix world wide sometime after.

I love that they also showed the Atomic Ray. Hooray for classic blue. But I wonder how it will look and what kind of damage it will do? Will it be like Shin Godzilla's super focused beam that cuts through or more like the Heisei and Millennium ray that deals a massive amount of concussive force along with the intense heat? It was hard to tell in the trailer, due to the angle of the shot.
"A battle between kaiju" huh? Sounds like we might be getting something similar to Godzilla and the male MUTO's fight in Hawaii (hopefully they actually show the fight this time).
True. Its just the poster, trailer of him (in the future scenes) all seem to not show eyeballs.

More than likely, his eyes are just hard to see because he's so big, and his eyes are so small. Not to mention that the angle of his head means that his eyes would be hard to see.

I don't know the characteristics of each DC villain. I just have a general idea from old cartoons and some of the DC movies. But thank you, I was quite proud of that entry.

Hedorah= The Joker.
Just hear me out. This just goes to on my opinion on what I know about The Joker, im sure there is a whole book about the joker that I have no idea about but here I go.
If we compare Godzilla and Hedorah's relationship to that of Batman and The Joker they have a similar narrative. As far as I know about the Joker, his past history is a mystery, same with Hedorah. No one in the Godzilla world is exactly sure where Hedorah came from, either outer space or a mutant on earth, hedorah is shrouded in mystery. All the other kaiju's have a history a back story, a motive for their destruction. the Joker and Hedorah do not, they crave destruction because its both in their nature to destroy.
The Joker is Batman's arch enemy, The Joker has no rules, he does what he pleases. Batman is obsessed with capturing The Joker, he even has the urge to kill the Joker. Godzilla believe it or not rarely kills his enemies(in the showa series) once they are defeated, like Batman. King Ghidorah, Gigan, Megalon, Ebirah, Mothra,(the exception of Kumonga and the Kamacuras) Godzilla has live and retreat multiple times. But Hedorah Godzilla seemed to be obsessed with killing in the end, even putting himself in physical danger to destroy Hedorah! Godzilla even snuffed out the species by destroying the 2 eggs! Godzilla hated Hedorah with all of his heart, the same must be with batman and the joker.
I feel also that Hedorah had a sense of humor, a rare characteristic of a kaiju in the Toho world. When Hedorah ensnares Godzilla in his sludge in that crater, Hedorah seemed to giggle! Like it felt good about what it did to Godzilla. He embarrassed Godzilla by "oozing" on him and that pleased Hedorah. The Joker... well its quite obvious where Im going here with the Joker. I need a whole website to make my point. they don't call him The joker for nothing.
Hedorah also seemed to thwart every attempt made by Godzilla to stop him. The joker seems to be able to trick batman as well at most times. Even when Godzilla seemed to have an upper hand Hedorah would just pull another trick from its sleeve and over come Godzilla. The joker has proven many times to outsmart Batman, killing Robin or other innocent people.
I hope this all makes sense. I know other people are going to argue with this one. But I hope to of made my point in comparison.
I have asked this in another forum but does Godzilla have eyes? I brought up the theory based only on the videos and pictures of Godzilla is that he doesn't seem to have eyeballs in the future. and since the planet developed the Servum maybe Godzilla no longer needed eyes? like he's one of the planet and he can see and feel everything so he evolved without eyes.
