Phenomenal Godzilla look.
They look a bit better than the Bandai figures, however I don't really like the legs and feet.
now that looks cool! I want that!
Damn it, I was hoping for an earlier date in November. By the time they release it on Netflix we would all know what happens in the end.
I really hope that Godzilla isn't fully a plant, I hope that he's still an animal in some capacity.
@KingKaijuGojira - Thanks! That's freaking huge. Maybe he will break that 400ft mark finally.
^I think it definitely has been option. But I bet that General MacArthur knew that the OD would be way more destructive than the nuclear option.
In 1954 movie Gojira, Dr. Serizawa mentioned that the Oxygen Destroyer was much more powerful that the A-Bomb. That is why he didn't want to reveal it to the world. It was so powerful that it killed Godzilla! So keeping in mind what the OD can do, Im sure it may have been an option in 1954 in this monsterverse, but thought it might be to destructive by Monarch and MacArthur.
The origin is very vague--But this isn't the first time the bomb has been removed from the equation of Godzilla's origin.
^He looks sick. please kill it
We all kind of discussed this topic before but I don't mind talking more about this topic.
I honestly wouldn't mind Godzilla and Kong fighting all through the film. They did it in the original, that seem to work out great! But we all know no one wants to see either Godzilla nor Kong lose. So yes I do think after a long fight between them another threat will show up and bring them together.
OR...... maybe their common enemy is... man! Maybe the Oxygen Destroyer is unleashed on both monsters as they fight towards the end. Maybe it will be a close finish between both monsters and before the final blow to each monster is struck, Monarch unleashes the OD. Pinning both monsters into submission. We might not see a 3rd monster, or... a clear victor.
think about it, in a lot of "VS" films, the common threat to both parties always wins in the franchise's that made them so popular to begin with. For example:
Freddy Vs Jason - Teenagers Won(they always win in the end don't they?)
Alien Vs. Predator 1 and 2 - Humans Win (they always do).
Frankenstein Meets The Wolfman - NO CLEAR VICTOR
I'm going to ignore the Full Moon entries on this one. Most of the "VS" are very silly. Puppet Master vs. Demonic Toys, Doll Man vs. Demonic Toys(spoiler alert, Demonic Toys always lose). Gingerdead Man vs. Evil Bong(I did not see but Im sure its silly and the humans win).
The only movie with a clear victor at the end of such a "VS" movie is... King Kong Vs. Godzilla(1962). Where we see King Kong come out of the sea swimming back home. Clearly Kong won(just barley). Hence such a dramatic need for a rematch between the two. Keep it the same. 2 monsters enter, one or none leaves.
But I think the only reason we are really discussing this is because of Batman Vs Superman. They team up after a pathetic 10 min fight scene. Leaving no victor and no loser. Everyone happy and no one is upset. Lame.
But what ever happens in this VS movie, we should just enjoy the ride. This ride only comes around once in close to 60 years, so lets just enjoy it while its here.
But as much as I would love to see a team up between these two Monster icons, I hope they do not succumb to that. the title is called Godzilla vs Kong, not Godzilla and Kong - Fight for Earth, I hope they keep it one of a kind.
Yeah I'm not that fond of Godzilla's design now. I like Servum however.
I would watch a "part-metal electromagnetic vegetable god" destroy anything.
so they are completely ignoring the A-bomb test aspect of Godzilla? That's like ignoring the fact that batmans parents died.
kind of defines Godzilla on a deep historical level. but I hope they don't.
Don't want to sound negative, this figurine does not look good. well his legs look like an elderly women's legs. but the top half is great. maybe ill buy the upper half, maybe they will give me 50% off for that.
cant wait for the movie tho.
I mean when you put it like that ^ hahahaha sounds epic.
I've used this before on other forums, but it bears repeating:
The upcoming trilogy will revolve around a part-metal electromagnetic vegetable god that can melt mountains. ONLY IN ANIME, FOLKS!
Alien MechaGodzilla, King Ghidorah, or Gigan. Though I'd rather see Kong and Godzilla fight the whole movie, making it a true VS film, but we've already had that argument.
It'd be cool to see Mothra/Rodan/Anguirus join Godzilla or Kongs side so there wouldn't just be only 2 monsters after having four in GKOTM.
^It's true. This comes directly from the official anime website.
This is what I imagine everytime G man says Wing Walker
Not to mention that the DVD extras for Godzilla (2014) already had Vivienne Graham telling us that Godzilla was responsible for attacks on ships in the 1940s.
Godzilla wasn't solely awakened in 1954, that's just one of the times that humans were explicitly responsible.
On that note, you guys think the Oxygen Destroyer could've been drawn up during the Pan-Pacific Proving Grounds as a potential alternative to the nuclear detonations that General MacArthur had in mind?
The Godzilla figure does look weird, but I still like the design. He'll look better in the actual anime. Servum looks pretty neat too.
Okay, so I'm checking out this article from SciFi Japan, and it says here that Godzilla uses electromagnetism from his metal muscle fibers to support his weight. That part I knew.
The next part that I apparently DIDN'T know is that he originated from "plant-based life"? Can anyone re-confirm or deny these claims from that website?
Jordan Vogt-Roberts revealed in the audio commentary for Kong: Skull Island that it was actually Godzilla that sank the Lawton. It was going to be explicitly stated in the movie, but Vogt-Roberts thought it was "too on the nose" and wanted audiences to figure it out for themselves.
Also, there's no chance that King Ghidorah isn't appearing in a major role in Godzilla: King of the Monsters. He's already been teased and hyped up for the film, and the official synopsis even says he will be fighting Godzilla in the film.
I've only just started buying figures, so I think I'll definitely buy this one. This design has grown on me over the past few days, AniGoji looks like a goofy grandpa that wants to murder us all. I'm wondering since only the Servum is shown with it, that we wont be getting the other monsters in this film specifically.
Godzilla looks weird. I like Servum however.
I'm still wondering about the monster that Goodman's character refers to regarding the attack on the USS Lawton.. it predates Godzilla's awakening.. and Godzilla avoided the ships in Edward's film.. some my question is this.. are they saving Ghidorah for a skull island battle which will involve G and KK (the last cave painting suggests that this may be the case) and.. since Ghidorah is frozen in ice.. currently.. will there be another Kaiju in this next movie that we don't know about.. and will it be the one who attacked the Lawton? I mean.. having the other two.. Rodan and Mothra.. makes sense for King of the monsters.. but.. I'm betting that Legendary is gonna introduce a new Kaiju in the second film.. Goodman's monster. and the after credits scene (you know they'll have one).. will reveal Ghidorah in the ice.. and the ice is melting and cracking and we see movement. <theory only
well.. how about it?
I agree, it is pretty interesting. Also the KingGoji is awesome.
Dragon King Ultrszero80 - I find the movie to be very inspiring, one day a group of people decided, "What the hell we've made a few Godzilla movies before let's make our own!" Plus I love the KingGoji suit.
The Legend of Brian- Yes! I really want to see that film be released.
I pray Legendary Beast Wolfman vs. Godzilla gets a release. I follow the director on Facebook and he posts quite a bit about his progress. Other than that, I'm ecstatic for what we're getting. I only hope that a future Toho film will have a man in a suit. I really liked how Shin Godzilla looked as CGI, but man I'd love to see a cool looking suit again.
I can't wait for all of these movies.
^Check the bottom of the article.
Is that GvK poster official? If not then it's very well made.
I'm not an avid anime fan personally, but this looks unreal. Will definitely be seeing it!
This is exremely exciting! I think Rodan is the most logical Monster to rise from a Volcano. So, does this suggest Rodan will emerge and need to defend itself against one of the other Monsters right away?! I can not wait to see the accompanying mythology for these Monsterverse versions of Mothra, Ghidorah and Rodan. So exciting!
riggazamortis86, They mentioned he'll be bigger than Shin Godzilla but not how much.
I at least hope they give him enough time. I think they got enough guff from fans about the screen time. but they have 4 epic fan favorites they can play with in this film. With Rodan, mothra and ghidorah, im sure we will have tons of great monster battles. One thing I like about Michael Dougherty is that his films get pretty crazy. I don't think he has ever worked on such a big project like this before with this big a budget! just based on past movies he has directed, this one is goin to rock! I just know it. he has a great way of telling a story and giving every element enough time to grow with the story. I look at his films like Trick r Treat and Krampus(some of my favorite movies) and I see a man who really is passionate about the atmosphere of the film and the story and wants us to truly care about every element of the story. So I have great faith in his ability to make this film the best American made Godzilla movie ever! I mean the pins are already set up for him, all he has to do is make one good strike to knock them all down.
Well it is still interesting to throw that in there. The OD is only referenced a couple times in the series after Gojira. Literally like 3 movies ever mention it and only does it ever become a plot point was Godzilla Vs. Destroyah. So if it does come back, it would be neat to see it used with modern special FX. Imagine it being used on King Ghidorah, with his skeleton showing and all through his skin.
But even tho I doubt Destroyah would ever come into this series of monsterverse, I doubt king kong could seriously stand up to a kaiju like that. that thing took on Godzilla when he was at one of his most powerful forms. king kong had the strange power-up from the lighting, and still had a tough time!!! Im sure we are all agree that king kong wouldn't stand a chance against Destroyah. plus its cheaper for Legendary to make there own MUTO.
