also, I get what you are saying about jet jaguar, but I think the only way he could join the monsterverse, is if he was a Jaeger from pacific rim and the 2 universes crossed what is not likely to happen.
and you have a point about king caesar, but then again then we have 3 animal based god like protectors in the same universe. I would personally like to see some variety.
and remember, all the monsters on the unlikely list are monsters that I really like (jet jaguar and king caesar). but I was more thinking about what would make sense for what we know so far about the monsterverse.
I definitely want to see Mechagodzilla more than destroyah. but because Destroyah has already been teased, I had to put him as number 1. I do hope Mechagodzilla will be chosen above destroyah for the future.
G. H. (Gman) Well said. GojiFan99's view is valid since canon can be debated considering movies, supplementary literature, different cuts etc... No one is really wrong. I like to think the match was a draw.
The debates are fun and educational though.
The thing is there are conflicting sources regarding the outcome of this battle. While Toho's 1963 international sales info on the film says Kong won, books released by Toho much later, including the Definitive Godzilla Introduction (by Tomoyuki Tanaka) and another Toho special effects book (the title escapes me) claim it ended in a draw.
Personally, I'd go with the sales brochure. It was the most immediate resource at the time when all of the film makers were still alive. Seems like the most clear and plausible source. But that won't ever stop fans from debating it until the end of time.
I'm not sure how likely it is that we'll see any Toho monsters beyond Mothra, Rodan or King Ghidorah, but I would think Mechagodzilla would be by far the most likely. He's the last member of Toho's "Big Five," and the next most popular and marketable. The plausibility of a giant robot isn't really an issue, if Legendary were to decide they want to use Mechagodzilla, they would find a way to use him.
*Sees Jet Jaguar in the least likely*
*Triggered!*(That Desgin is bad@$$ tho)
Anyway Mechs would only work if it set in the far away future and also how is exactly King Ceasar far fetched? just simply make him another monster that has worshippers just like Kong and Mothra.
Not sure if I could compile an entire list, but the most likely candidates would also have to be the most popular--For marketing reasons. And since MechaGodzilla is about as popular as King Ghidorah and Mothra, I'd say he would be the most likely.
Forget if it's realistic or not. If they feel like it would sell best, they would use him. (Though at this point I'm not expecting to see any new Monsterverse movies after 2020 anyway--But it's fun to speculate I guess.)
True, but these are my thoughts.
Hmm...There are those who consider canon to be individually decided upon thus endless debate.
I love Matt Frank's Art!
^YES! YES, INDEED!
Yes! That is all.
Dude that looks good
Matt Frank never disappoints!
Awesome as usual!
Biollante: Monster Planet sounds great so far!
Whew. Digging up relics here.
I'm gonna have to pay that store a visit someday. Probably gonna have to do it with alot of money too.
It seems Kong won and I wanted Godzilla to win. I don't like seeing the two mix.
I just watched it. Over all I liked it but wanted more.
1. It seemed like a long time before Godzilla appeared and when it did, I saw its leg. I expected more chaos.
2. I hated the military small arms fire against something bigger than most buildings.
3. I wanted more monster screen time.
4. I wanted Godzilla to go after the nuclear facility (humans) and not just focus on the monsters. Humans deserved wrath more than the monsters imo.
The rest was really good. The noises the creatures made were original and creepy- sort of mechanical in a way.
Godzilla and the creatures looked great- just wanted to see more.
I'm rooting Kong because I'm a rebel.
Now if I could find a picture without words and numbers I'll have the perfect background for my phone.
G14FAN No Problem.
How did so many people miss this? I had recognized the clips from somewhere before but I never thought that they would actually be associated with this! Thanks a lot man.
Fixed the link for you.
actually I think I may have found them it's actually in the U.S. Check out my video for the reasoning Godzilla 2 Cave Paintings Location Found Godzilla 2 MonsterVerse News
Dear Godzilla, that's amazing!
^Durp brings up an interesting point. A lot of us around here watch the Japanese language version not just to avoid the hideous dubs, but the massive inaccuracies in them.
I've avoided the Millennium Series dubs, but I know the same company that dubbed them also did the English dubs for the Heisei series and they were absolutely atrocious.
Meanwhile the re-writing in the English dub scripts for both Godzilla vs. Destoroyah and Godzilla, Mothra, King Ghidorah: Giant Monsters All-Out Attack are among the worse. A lot is lost in translation and context in those two.
I imagine Hulu is only showing the dubs.
Can't really add my informationwise, but just opinion based unfortunately for me that section has a lot of dubs, but a few greats.
If you start to go through this and decide the start skipping them the first one I'd mention is Godzilla vs Megaguirus. Depending on the tones you like Final Wars may be another one to miss out on.
Your welcome riggzamortis
Just got through with 2014. Pretty good. I felt like I did as a kid- the plot and story was pretty good. I ultimately didn't care about the people and was always wondering if Godzilla was ok after a fight. I could sympathize with the male and female monsters since they were just doing what they did and humans just got in their way. I would welcome more Zilla and monster time though. Even in Gojira, it felt excruciatingly long to get to the meat and potatoes. Maybe that is just how the stories are written- I am from USA and demand immediate gratification LOL! Over all, I enjoyed it very much.
One thing I disliked and happens with other movies was Soldiers using small arm weapons against gigantic creatures. I guess audiences need to see and hear rat tat tat. It is ridiculous and an insult to the military in general. At least with 1998 they used believable weapons from fighter jets to kill Godzilla.
Hope you enjoy them--Keep us posted about your journey through those films. I sent you a PM with an aid on said journey.
G. H. (Gman) Appreciated- thank you. Lots of watching to do. I just want to watch with as much continuity as possible.
There's a few with some tight continuity. As far as what Hulu has, here's what needs to be viewed in order:
The Heisei Series
These movies try to have strict continuity, despite how much they flub it up and don't use it. But for the sake of consistency it's best to watch them in order. It's important to note that the first two films made for this continuity are not on Hulu (The Return of Godzilla & Godzilla vs. Biollante). So you'll have to go in to it with the understanding that a new Godzilla has appeared twice since 1984--And before that only the events of the original 1954 film had taken place:
Godzilla vs. King Ghidorah
Godzilla vs. Mothra
Godzilla vs. MechaGodzilla II
Godzilla vs. SpaceGodzilla
Godzilla vs. Destoroyah
The Millennium Series
The Millennium movies are an anthology series with no continuity between them. With the exception of two films, the only connection they generally have is to the 1954 original. Any important information from the original film is usually recapped in some way. You can watch any of the following in any order you wish. But this is the order they were released:
Godzilla 2000
Godzilla vs. Megaguirus
Godzilla, Mothra, King Ghidorah: Giant Monsters All-Out Attack
Godzilla: Final Wars
The Kiryu Saga
The two Millennium movies I spoke of that were the exception are usually dubbed "The Kiryu Saga" or "Kiryu Duology" by fans. Like the other Millennium movies, they're sequels to the original Godzilla and some other Toho kaiju flicks. Again, pertinent information is recapped via flashbacks:
Godzilla against MechaGodzilla
Godzilla: Tokyo SOS
I generally consider Godzilla vs. SpaceGodzilla the worst of the entire series and Godzilla vs. Megaguirus and Godzilla Final Wars aren't too far behind. I know many who would disagree, but I come at the series from a very different perspective than most. The 1998 movie is a borderline taboo subject among the fandom, so we usually just ignore it.
But, as with anything, try them all out. Tastes vary and I have no idea what you might be looking for in these flicks.
The man who composed two of my favorite Godzilla soundtracks is back! This is awesome news! I can't wait to hear his newest score for the series!
I am beginning to get a little excited. A fellow member posted a fan made trailer that looks pretty good.

Very nice! I love the not so subtle Covenant nods too!
Exciting. Godzilla 2000 has one of my favorite themes. Can't wait to listen.
