So here's the story about that 2014 cover. It was supposed to be a Wal-Mart exclusive. But it turns out it only appeared in Canadian Wal-Marts.

US Wal-Marts did receive that same exclusive cover, but for DVD only:

As far as I can recollect, yes it was just a different slip cover. I'll have to dig back into 2014 to confirm.

Legion was named after the demon of Gadarenes from the Bible. The book of Mark, chapter 5, verse 9, is quoted in Gamera 2: The Advent of Legion: "And Jesus asked him, 'What is thy name?' He replied, 'My name is Legion, for we are many.'"

Therefore, like the demon in the Bible, Legion has always been titled as the, "one who is many."

The second one was an alternate cover from a specific store back in the day. I've never seen the first. Are we sure it's a Region 1 release?

I absolutely LOVE black comedy... as long as it makes sense to me. Then again, I did chuckle a little in shock when that happened the first time I saw it... aw shit, is that a red flag? XD

So it was basically like Bryan Cranston in Godzilla 2014 except this time it was intentional? Because the whole Bryan Cranston  thing in the first one really made my mom angry, because he was the only reason she watched the movie... she doesn't like Kaiju movies or anything like that (Except the original King Kong) but loves Breaking Bad... She still won't let ME live that one down, for whatever reason lol

Another reason was to show that no one is safe, but that doesn’t help much still knowing that part of the reason was for Lulz.

The “joke” is along the lines of “ha ha you thought you were gonna see Sally Hawkins through the whole movie? Nope! We’ll kill her at the end of Act 1 and have her die in a comical manner by having her be eaten alive by Ghidorah.”
