I'd be legendary Rodan. I'd get to sleep in a volcano and zip around like a supersonic atomic bomb.
No, Kong CAN win. It's a matter of WILL he win. And I don't think so. I believe Godzilla will win, due to popularity and the fact that Kong won back in 1962.
I imagine that the execs will be cautiously watching and waiting to see how theatres are doing a few months after they start to really open up again.
If WB's movies start doing well and the situation starts improving, or even the exact opposite, the May 2021 date can be shifted up or down to accommodate for whatever happens.
The movie seems to be relatively completed in most regards with post-production and only needs extra touch-ups and the musical composition to be finished up. Godzilla vs. Kong's release date is flexible because of this.
Heck, it'd be a bit of a hoot if they manage to move it up to the original March release period the film was originally gonna get :P
Not shocking. The November competition is stuff, Wonder Woman just got pushed back as well and the film industry's uncertainty in when a reopening may happen is a major factor.
*sigh*
I dunno, it didn't pack as much of a punch as I thought it would. Probably because I half-expected it in some way, even if my main line of thought went for a more optimistic approach.
Well, there you have it. See y'all next May, I guess.

November 5020: Godzilla Vs Kong is officially delayed again
Funny, this name was the one I singled out as the one I wouldn’t be crazy about and lo and behold.
http://www.godzilla-movies.com/topic/48925
^ the topic in which I discussed composer wishlists.
I’m with Gman here on this feeling like a cost effective move.
Maybe it will knock our socks off but come on, BVS was a collab with Zimmer and I wasn’t too jazzed by Fury road’s music.
I agree, what it really comes down to is how good the movie is and how the final battle/winner is executed. And yes, one of the great things about movies is how subjective they are... it's fun to share your own opinions with other people, and I find it cool how so many different perspectives can be formulated around just one film.
I do want Kong to win simply because I think it could develop the story in unexpected ways, but I do not want him to kill Godzilla. I think that the MonsterVerse has so much potential, and if it does continue, I would like the story to continue following Godzilla. Like I said earlier, it could go a million different ways, and I really have no clue as to what's going to happen
One of my favorite scenes in the movie. wings io
Uh, I’m rooting for both of them.
I’ve only seen Sonic and Alita so I’m not sure about this whole deal.
I’m actually okay with this. His music is pretty hard-hitting, which shows in Mad Max and Terminator: Dark Fate. He can range into some emotional scores too, which are evident in Alita and Sonic. I think he’s gonna bring a badass experience with this film!
That’s fine that you don’t agree with some of Godzilla’s fans opinions of pre-judgement even if it's for futile or prejudice reasons! Lol This is a Godzilla forum…..most threads I have cruised are awesome with your occasional smart ass (not insinuating you), but hey….it just goes to show how passionate we are! I absolutely love reading how passionate true fans are, even for the big Kong! I just hope we get to see a great movie and it’s done well and the ending is such that maybe, and just maybe, there might be another installment or 2. A lot of that projection though is based on how this upcoming movie will end.
I'm really not trying to bash anyone personally, I'm stating a simple fact that I don't agree with what some people are saying... I think it's unfair to judge a movie based on whether or not it caters to your own expectations.
Also, of course someone has the right to "piss, moan, bitch and boycott," even when it's for futile or prejudice reasons.
There's passionate fans on both sides of the fence that has the right to piss, moan, bitch and boycott if they want to. Anyone who places judgement on either side and wants to bash shouldn't even be in this forum. There's no such thing as a wrong opinion.
"The monsterverse may be coming to an end, I don't care if my favorite titan is defeated, if for whatever reason the monsterverse continues I won't get mad over it and even less cry and stop watching future movies for that reason, what nonsense that there are people who have that mentality."
Exactly. I find it somewhat depressing that people have such a bigot mentality to where they can't even handle the fact that this movie will not go exactly their own way. Godzilla could defeat Kong without killing him, or vice versa; Godzilla could kill Kong, or vice versa; Godzilla could defeat Kong, and then they team up against an enemy, or Kong defeats Godzilla and then they ream up; or neither of them get defeated... This movie could go literally a million different ways, and no matter what, there will be an entire group of people who are disappointed. There's absolutely nothing wrong with hating a movie, but saying you're going to boycott it just because it won't go your way is ridiculous (also, why find out who wins ahead of time? That's kind of desperate and it ruins the experience). I really am not trying to bash anyone; you do you, that's fine, but it doesn't mean that these people aren't acting kind of ridiculous. If there's going to be one reason I don't see GvK, it'll be because if I hear it's garbage and not worth the money; not because the monster I'm rooting for looses.
Yes I remember the submarine scene. He could have easily taken that sub to the junkyard if he wanted to, but he didn’t. Look Godzilla is a bad ass. He doesn’t have the compassionate side that Kong has. But I also don’t think his inner drive is to kill off all humans on Earth. When he was in his layer rejuvenating from the oxygen bomb, and Dr. Serizawa went down there to set the timer for the nuclear warhead, Godzilla and he had an eye to eye moment before the bomb went off. Perhaps this is what entered his mind when he rose from the depths and was gazing at the submarine? He then decided not to attack the submarine and go after Ghidorah. That scene should speak for itself.
I think Godzilla will turn heel and get sick of humans. He kind of looked at them with disdain in KOFTM at the submarine scene. I think Kong will end up fighting for us because he felt closer to us in the end of his movie. Kong got progressively closer to humans and Godzilla got progressively further away.
I like his work in Fury Road, but I cannot see that kind of music fitting in a Godzilla film, and everything else he does is too mainstream. I kind of want Alexandre Desplat brought back; he does some of my favorite scores of all time, and his work on G14 was magnificent.
What a travesty.
How did we go from Alexandre Desplat to Bear McCreary to freaking Tom Holkenborg? This just smacks of the studio saving money on a full, orchestral score while going with one of the many Hans Zimmer clones that resonate with general audiences instead of doing what's good for the movie.
I can't believe someone with the nickname "Junkie XL" will be joining the pantheon of greats like Akira Ifukube, Ko Otani and Michiru Oshima. Terrible fit.
Ifukube's probably rolling in his grave.
I’m gonna be honest, I think GvK is going to be sh*t. During lockdown the directors should be working on these things! This should be a priority! A film is a work of art, not a CGI CARTOON with music that sounds like crap! Thomas Holkenborg worked on BvS... WTF! If you know of anybody who has worked on one of ZACK SNYDER’s projects, do not hire them to be part of yours! And yes, I an saying that BvS and the rest of the DCEU (except maybe Wonder Woman) is F*CK! All this makes me think is that this movie is not important to the director!
I think more Mad Max: Fury Road style scores would be better. Fits the more chaotic nature of ginormous action setpieces.
Since we aren't getting godly orchestral pieces with choirs, we settle for absolute electronic synth.
Neat! I liked the score for Batman v Superman, so I'm hoping this turns out to be good.
If this is legit they better have Hans Zimmer colab with Junkie XL again!!
Pretty much, but like I said earlier, I think that that could be very cool in a future (not MonsterVerse) Godzilla film. If GvK really was that violent, it probably wouldn't be PG-13.
True, the violence in the MonsterVerse is definitely there, but so far they've played it really safe (though K:SI is a bit more gritty than the two other G movies). I think GvK can take it to the next level.
It doesn't look half bad, but the scale is totally different from that of the Godzilla figures they produce, an easy pass for me.
@Mysticlore
Amen!
soooooo trailer soon........please.....hell just a screenshot of the film would be appreciated
Godzilla gonna beat Kong. I think Godzilla won’t kill Kong, possibly knowing that Kong has an island to protect. Godzilla is WAY OP!
NECA is doing a really good job with their new figures. The Bio Godzilla and 2003 Godzilla both look AMAZING! I don’t know if anyone else has seen there 1933 Kong, but it looks really good to.
I hope it’s more durable than the ShMonsterarts Kong. I have that one and it’s falling apart.
Lookin good. I think NECA has really stepped up their game.
So pretty standard Monsterverse fare, then.
It's kind of one of the franchise's most notable features.
The designs look awesome!
I like the design of him.
I’m all for the creature violence but only to a point where it’s not disturbing to watch.
Nice, original looking version of Kong. Some 1933 qualities; some 2017 qualities. Will look great in my Kong figure collection.
"I have suspicions this will be the last Monsterverse movie anyway, so no worries there.
Personally, I don't care who wins as long as the movie's good."
^^^This anytime. The monsterverse may be coming to an end, I don't care if my favorite titan is defeated, if for whatever reason the monsterverse continues I won't get mad over it and even less cry and stop watching future movies for that reason, what nonsense that there are people who have that mentality, in any case they won't be missed, sorry if I'm harsh.
