Whatever your reasons were, the fact is this stuff is con-exclusive. That's just the way the world works. I didn't get to go to the con either. Boo-hoo. But I'd be delusional to believe that the footage is going to get released, because I have self-entitlement issues that get smoke-screened by assuming that I know how to market a movie. And lets face it, unless your job is to head the marketing team of films, no one here knows how to do it. I have no doubt that official trailers and footage will be released sometime this fall, most likely this November or December with "Thor" or some other fall actioner. So simply be patient. Comic Con NEVER said they would release the footage to the public. Ever. Godzilla's presence at Comic Con was to generate buzz and create excitement. Guess what? It worked. Everyone is complaining we don't have a trailer and chomping at the bit to see footage. Meanwhile, the press hypes up the movie's presence for WB/Legendary and all they have to do is sit on their hands while the movie is in post-production and the marketing team gears up their plan for the year's fourth quarter. Man up and deal with it.

Mine would pick up after Godzilla vs. Destoroyah, and we would see a grown up and super charged Minilla. Like the one we saw in the last shot of Godzilla vs. Destoroyah. The film would be about him becoming the defender of the earth.

Legendary said there was something big coming! Failed to mention only people at Comic-Con would see it. It's been a year since the teaser was shown, and the unwashed masses (like myself) have yet to see it! What was the point of even showing the trailer at Comic-Con? If it was for press, FAIL! The press is talking about the Batman/Superman movie. The only talk about Godzilla is about how fans are angry about Legendary basically trolling fans. Go to the Legendary Facebook page. Legendary is posting cos-play videos, and nearly every comment on every post is people angry about not seeing a trailer. Legendary is dooming both Godzilla AND EVERY OTHER FILM THEY ARE WORKING ON!

I get a little tired of anyone who was at SDCC telling us to quit complaining ,...telling us "we should have saved our pennies"? i'm willing to bet I have a better job then most of the goofs who where there but for me,..it's not about saving pennies...it's about having families and responsibilities to others and not just to myself,...most true Godzilla fans are probably in their 40's and 50's....not the age group i'm sure was their........to hold people at fault simply because they have bigger and better things to do with their money,...like taking care of ones family,....should be no reason to keep everyone else in the dark.....again....just sayin'

Comic Con goers do deserve to get something unique, no doubt, and seeing the trailer first and well before anyone else is fair enough. I do think whining that it hasn't been released to the general public yet is a bit much, particularly when the evidence on the Encounter website suggests them leading towards it with the progression of the timeline. That said, the Con attendees also get to be there for an intimate discussion with the cast which non-attendees will never get, we may see it on Youtube or the Blu Ray, but it's not the same. So never releasing the trailer to the public would be a mistake. I understand not releasing last year's trailer, since a number of things strongly suggest that was simply a test trailer shown to gaugue fan reaction to the tone the film would be taking and server as a showing that this will not be Godzilla '98, but it's not the final Godzilla design or film footage so they didn't feel a need to publish it. This year's trailer should be as it contains real footage that'll be part of the film. It would be a mistake by Legendary not to release it publicly at some point. Not only are there far more potential film goers in the mass public who weren't at SDCC, but I've even read that getting into the panel also meant attendance for other panels in the same hall, which means a number of the people who saw the Godzilla trailer and panel may not even care about Godzilla. There are plenty of hardcore fans, and surely some more fan than people at SDCC, who simply can't afford the time away or the expense of the trip to SDCC. Should Con goers get a special treat, yes, they got the Encounter, the panel, seeing the trailer first, but should non-attendees get screwed, no, it's not as though their absence is a reflection of interest. I'm sure many of us who didn't make it feel a sinking feeling in our stomachs that we missed out on all the festivities. That said, because so much of the Encounter is being shared on the site and apps and such made for non-attendees to join the fun too, I do believe Legendary will put it online, and it's just a matter of waiting. Thankfully, the timelines' halfway through now at 1984.

Why does everyone feel so entitled to the trailer footage? There's a reason this stuff is "con-exclusive". It sells tickets and generates buzz. That's the point of Comic Con these days. If you wanted to see something you should have saved your pennies and dimes to go to Comic Con. That's not Legendary's or WB's fault. If they were going to release this stuff online what's the point of attending Comic Con? Look at it this way. Lets say the trailer was released at the same time everyone at Comic Con saw it. Then the people who bought their way to San Diego would be complaining about how they threw their money out the window because they've received nothing exclusive to them. I'm really tired of the complaining. Comic Con never owed us anything. The most we were ever going to get was a trailer description and MAYBE a reveal. But that's it.

steamboatGodzilla 2014 ForumSo where's the trailer?
Actually, I do have an answer. Not a sarcastic one. There is with any attempt at a Godzilla movie a chance of oversaturation. You cannot show too much of what Godzilla does, because it will ruin the movie. You must be very careful not to spoil too much of his involvement in the movie because in the end the on screen time for Godzilla is less then half of any movie ever produced. It may turn off potential viewers from seeing the movie, as I believe happened with pacific rim. People just are not ready to suspend disbelief to that magnitude before the movie even hits the theatres. If they know what they are doing 80% of the trailers will either be reactions to Godzilla, destruction from Godzilla, or actual plot hints. I believe showing a full shot of Godzilla, much less a scene of him destroying things, would be a mistake. I know that this plan of action will make hardcore fans angry, but I know that in order to gain a general audience (and with this budget they must come out in droves to ensure any subsequent films either here or in Japan) you must be very careful not to render actually going to the film unnecessary. I would release the first trailer soon. Maybe even the one they showed at SDCC, but I would be very choosy and careful about it, and my plan of action would be to rely on viral marketing and sports sponsorships among other things

TMK Legendary has obtained the rights for the possibility of 3 films. This usually takes what..7-8 years right? Just because they reserved the right to do it doesn't mean it will happen, but if you believe (as I do) that any Godzilla movie in the future depends on the success of 2014 then the likelihood of a japanese Godzilla movie in the next decade is very slim.

No, they are just going over the history of Godzilla. It is a total reboot. Not even the original film is in this film's canon. He will be created in this film.

TheDudeGodzilla 2014 ForumTOHO's Plans For Godzilla
Toho is waiting first. Besides I was told the reason the Millennium films didn't do that well was because they rushed into it. Toho didn't plan to bring him back for at least a decade. Then the 98 film happened and Toho jumped into getting Godzilla back. The only film I liked was GMK, the other Millennium films stunk. I'd like to see the Heisei series continued. Megumi Odaka who played Miki Saegusa said she'd like to play Miki again if Toho asks her. Though she retired in 2002 due to health concerns. She was my favorite human character of the Heisei films.

Yeah, this is a tough one! Um.....I think on of the first ones I ever saw as a kid, and I am 34 now...so.....was Godzilla vs Megalon. Love that one, but it's hard to pick a favorite. G vs Biollante is great too! As well as G vs Gigan!

Yeah, still kicking myself in the butt for not going to ComicCon to see first hand this AWESOME Godzilla set up. Judging from the teaser poster we got the other day...he's gonna be spiny, which I like. But lets keep it in tact and not outta control like in G2000 and the following films.

ConnorGodzilla Video Games ForumYour Own Godzilla Video Game (Ideas, Plot, Monster Roster, Stages, etc.)
I have an Idea that could be used for a Godzilla game 1. have a Story mode (perhaps a story mode that could be original one that can have lots of monsters perhaps a Godzilla story along the line of Godzilla final wars 2. have a Hero monster mode (Godzilla, Mothra, anguirus and so on) have a Villein monster mode ( king ghidorah, destroyah, orga and so on) have a human mode ( perhaps a mode where you can play as the humans like a over the shoulder shooter type play or play as mecha godzilla 4. have a VS mode like the Godzilla games more recently or super smash bros a battle type play would be vary useful for playability and some monsters who could not make it in the story mode could appear in VS if it was on the Wii U it could have up to 5 player fights 5. have different skins like have Godzilla be able to be in all his different forms with slightly different ability's that goes for the rest of the monsters as well 6. have some extra bonus content like behind the scenes features on the game as well as the movies as well as a Concept art galley 7. able to record rounds so you can watch you're victory's and fails in story and VS mode 8. make lots of stages ( give the player good places to fight like monster island, new york city, Tokyo and like the monsters the stages could have different skins ) 9. able to listen to music from the game or the movies 10. custom content be able to choose the weather or the music for a stage I all ready talked about different skins for Stages/monsters or how about you can create you're own monster create its move set and balance it out kinda like a Mii maker but a lot more options those are just some of my own ideas

Well Bagan isn't really known by newer fans of Godzilla, only old, hardcore fans. He's still a Badass kaiju, and the hardest boss to kill (Super Godzilla). In scale, he's got at least 300ft. on Big-G. maybe he could be like a mutated, failed experiment on Godzilla's DNA.

I wouldn't mind seeing an updated version of the 1954 attack open the movie. Though using bits from the original film works too, as in they can be turned into archival footage, which some of the shots of Godzilla in the first movie do look like old newsreel footage. For example the original trailer. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eSk-i1UFJWA

The original movie did say the US A-bomb did make him, it just was never explicit. Then there is the Odo Island legend of Gojira that also give this mysterious quality to him. Is he the dreaded monster god these islanders fear? Not until Dr. Kyohei Yamane does the scientific side of things explain all.

Maybe, but i think they might be going with the idea that G was created by the bomb the Americans dropped on the Japanese ending WWII, which I'm am pretty sure is a different origin.

Mecha-GodzillaGodzilla ForumWhat Made You a Godzilla Fan?
I can remember when i was in Pre-K and on TV i saw a commercial for purchase of the Godzilla: Final Wars DVD and boy was i so amazed by the epicness of godzilla! Later on in life my Uncle would come over to our house during cookouts and he would scroll through the guide looking for something to watch, He put on his favorite godzilla movie, Godzilla vs Megalon and i watched the movie with him. I was so interested in it that my dad bought the Godzilla Save the Earth game for me and him. he played it and so did i but i was like 5 or 6 so how was i suppose to know? I loved the game and in a store i saw toys for godzilla and their monsters. i bought spacegodzilla, destoroyah, godzilla, etc. And then i started watching all of the moives with my neighbor whom i spread this fandom to, and we would play with the toys (lol) and everyday we would just have fun with Godzillla. Later he moved away and i gave him one of my Godzilla toys in remembrance of me.........So now i am older and i have Godzilla Unleashed as a game and still the toys (damaged and missing pieces XD) and i cant wait for this new godzilla movie! Thanks for reading this post, i know it was long but i got caught up in it
