Due to the recent interview with Frank Darabont. It's safe to assume that the plot may be similar to the original in terms of the tone and underlying plot. He's bringing Godzilla's greatest characteristic of all back: a force of nature and nuclear disaster.

Darabont also said that this new Godzilla would be focusing on themes that are relevant to today. It could reflect upon the 2012 Japanese radiation leak. The theme could be is that no matter how reliant we are on nuclear power, the benefits it gives us can by no means be more important then the consequential impacts it can have on our environment.

@GOD_zilla0113 , I actually hope they set it up that way, that would be an awesome way to update the story without it straying to far from the original

the plot should be godzilla is awakened by global warming and mutatedl by atomic bombs you kill 2 birds with one stone a metaphore for atomic missiles and the warming climate earth's facing. and his adversary monsters can cum from that same atomic bomb test.
as far as weather or not there will be more after this movie it depends on how it's received.

I don't care what the plot is just aslong as they try and get some of the original cast back and also they continue it from the first film
They need to keep the them otherwise it will be completly ruin they need to make it a franchise
Original cast and orignal storyline
start the film from the remaining egg in madison square garden
Also dont envolve king kong like the classic because then it will be going fantasy from reality and no movie should be that way
really excited about this film so please please please dont ruin it as the first film was perfectly scripted.

For me, I just want a serious Godzilla film, like the first one. Thankfully, this is the route they seem to be taking. Of course, I also want to see some Monster brawls, but my main hopes are that they focus heavily on Godzilla and less so on a love story between two people. Have a balanced mix of people / Godzilla footage and I'll be a happy camper.

Agreed, I'm very much against overbearing human love stories in a Godzilla flick. However, human back story is crucial, especially to a reboot of the classic Godzilla, there needs to be that happy balance between Monster rampages and military incompetence. Makes for an enjoyable experience.

i feel as if this movie needs to go back to its old roots, back to 1954. when we all witnessed the metaphor of destruction, the weapon of god, the reaper himself, terrorize helpless people. it needs to show a lot of the monster action but at the same time show how this affected the people and how helpless they become. that will really revive the series. but not only show the destruction of cities but show how a monster of such proportions can be a neutrally good factor. or maybe how godzilla is just trying to defend himself. like in GvD. he did everything to protect himself and his son. pretty much me need the metaphor of destruction, sympathy for the people, (no love story or struggle between different individuals) and a difficulty for godzilla himself that brings him to the brink of death. one that actually shows a lesson that we could all learn from. as a long time godzilla nerd ive learned a lot from godzilla. i think others should have the experience of learning from such a visual
Revival Of Life

i hope this movie turns out being really good. The last Godzilla with Matthew Broderick was kind of corny but i still liked it. I hope this one shows more of the actual creature, it will tide me over until the next Jurassic Park comes out!!!!!

The move should have a simple plot.
After the bombs had been tested, Godzilla awakes from slumber and rises up. Destroying cities and killing people. Soon the military from Japan and The United States has been attacking the monster with all of their forces and power. Nothing seems to be working. Godzilla leaves and heads back into the ocean where the monster has to fight of the the U.S navy. He quickly destroys them and heads off into the depths of the ocean. A week later, other monsters attack whatever city. And destroy almost most of it. As the monsters make so much disaster, Godzilla hears the disturbances and encounters the other giant monsters, Godzilla quickly realizes these other monsters are threats. And Godzilla goes an all out battle with the 2 monsters, and humanity in the way..

I can't wait to see how everything we've heard so far about the new movie comes together. We've heard that Gareth Edwards wants to create a film grounded in reality including how we would react if this were really happening. We've heard that Godzilla will be returning to his serious roots including destroying cities. I'm curious as to how the additional monsters that he fights come into play. Are they also awakened by nuclear testing? I hope there is a scene in that movie, perhaps an extra in the end credits, where Godzilla travels the globe and blows up a crackpot from North Korea.

My wishlist for the Plot:
-Do not make it yet ANOTHER direct sequel to Gojira/Godzilla 1954.
-Make this the start of a Kaiju Cinematic Universe, with Godzilla as the key to an Age of Giant Monsters.
-Make Godzilla the Main focus of the film, the human characters should help us get info from him and other important etc.
-Since Darabont will have Godzilla based on a current contemporary issue, have Godzilla's origins being a surviving dinosaur mutated from Radiation leaked from the Japanese Nuclear Plant Incident.
-Don't make Godzilla a Villain, being a Force of Nature is good because its along the lines of an Anti-Hero. Both of Godzilla's foes on this should be the Villains.
-Have references to the Toho Godzilla Franchise. Since Takarada is already making a cameo, maybe have homages to Gojira, like have Godzilla attack a ship in the opening, crush and stomp trains, and even popping his head out of a hill or Mountain.

i heard they are going to focus alot on a soldier i just hope he doesnt take up like 75% of the screen time. there might be a romance in it as well. i cant wait for this movie this and jurassic park 4 are my 2 most anticipated movies.
KING KAIJU
1 small step for kaiju
1 giant step for godzilla!!!!
