This may sound crazy but the first thing when my mom gave birth to me was the godzilla 1954 dvd that my dad was holding when he just bought it hours before my birth, I was destined because then when I started seeing the films I thought they were badass. I am 13 right now and I swear to always be a godzilla fan because its the most epic thing ive ever seen in my whole entire life.

They are making a game called Collosal Kaiju Combat which will do this. I would like a game where it's humans vs kaiju.

Finally. Something somewhat informative in these interviews. Things are beginning to slowly come together perhaps. Hoping the next Hobbit movie might have a trailer with it. That puts it about 6 months out. Hoping for the best...

It's a tie between the original Japanese version of the film, Gojira and Destroy All Monsters. I really love the theme to Destroy. I even have it on my iPod!

A few different things. First would be my pop, who showed me the original movie on TV when I was about 4 years old. Later that year, the first movie I ever saw in the theater was Godzilla vs. The Thing. Godzilla was always so cool (although later on, I always wished he would live, like Gorgo did). I just always liked the idea of a monster who was such a primal force. I still miss the old days of Thanksgiving in NYC when on Thursday we got King Kong, Son of Kong and Mighty Joe Young, then on Friday Godzilla, King of the Monsters and two random others. When I finally got to see the original, un-Raymond Burred version, I went nuts. I enjoyed Godzilla all over again. I still remember buying the 90's movies on bootlegs, I wanted to see them so badly. The Big G has always been a part of my SF consciousness and always will be.

I like the idea of Godzilla as an anti-hero its better cause he is sort of a hero and its better than having him as a villain.

Gareth said that if he does do a sequel then it would absolutly have the same idea about a monster island but not destroy all monsters itself.

Godzilla and Orga vs king Gidorah and Mothra

I love how people think that Mothra is taken less seriously. It's a movie, people. Taking Godzilla seriously, a giant mutated dinosaur/force of nature, really? They should take the monster's message seriously, but the monster himself, no. Mothra has played on American big screens before and made money. Mothra is Godzilla's polar opposite. Connected with people, colorful and bright. Mothra could be a mutation, easily. If you make a movie for the fans alone and never change anything, everything is at risk of dying anyway. Anyone who watched Mothra and 'couldn't stand her' missed the point. Monsters are just as unique as people are. They are all different. It's not about redesigning the monsters, as evidenced in 1998, don't mess with the classic form. It's about redesigning your mind. Accept more for what stuff is. These are not your monsters, they don't belong to you. None of us can control how they look, so its best to just accept the beast for what it is, rather then complaining about what it is not.

i realy hope they stay true what he said cause godzilla is realy like that no one can control him or ever will all so u can never kill him so plz for the love of god i hope they dont kill him in the moive like the one in new york

This is very cool. Ishiro Honda and Tomoyuki Tanaka would be very proud to see Godzilla come back to what they started the genre as.

I think they should have used any of those other monsters over "King Ghidorah" mainly cause he's a bad monster. I never understood some peoples like for "GMK" cause they had one of "Godzilla's" biggest enemies as a hero. that's just wrong! that is one of the many reasons why i have never liked "GMK"!

Man this movie keeps sounding better and better! I am so exited!! This is the perfect representation of Godzilla. He should always be portrayed as an anti hero, because those made the best movies.

Interesting... "lazy and pointless" is meant to be constructive criticism... I'll file that info away and get back to it when the deluge of negativity floods in... I suspect that might be some while, as thus far no one else in the entirety of the internet seems to have any complaints...

@INSTINCTIVEGIGAN i agree with you man godzilla regardless of whatever film anyone talks about he is and always will be a force of nature and with that said i dont think he will be a hero or villian but rather take up for his own turf like he always does rule number one dont step on the kings turf every monster by now has learned that

i never said i was doing one, especially since i had not seen the trailer which i never said that i did. i was trying to give you some tips, some people cant take any criticism i suppose even when it is meant to be constructive. just wait till you get the typical youtube comments that turn into racist and political rants, those are fun.

Spot on InstinctiveGigan!!!! I'd rather see a movie with Godzilla as an anti-hero like he was in most films like the 90's series, 2000 and Final Wars. The audience needs to connect with Godzilla. If he is a flat out villain like he was in GMK, it's not going to work at all. Godzilla works better as an anti-hero anyway. Still a danger to man, but in some cases the last hope they'll need. Like in Dark Knight, "he's not the hero we want, be he's the one we need."

Godzilla's role in the movie has been revealed. I'll let Gareth himself explain it to you. A direct quote from him: "I always viewed him as a force of nature. He's not like King Kong where there's a personality. Godzilla is definitely a representation of the wrath of nature. But we're in the process of visual FX and I'm starting to see him and his personality is coming through. It's interesting. I'm happy and surprised. We saw early tests and my reaction was like Internet dating or something [laughs], suddenly you're meeting him for the first time and you go, he's real. It's probably going to develop more personality as we go on and my answer might be different when we're done, but he definitely has personality from the icon he is. We've taken it very seriously and the theme is man versus nature and Godzilla is certainly the nature side of it. You can't win that fight. Nature's always going to win and that's what the subtext of our movie is about. He's an anti-hero. I wouldn't describe him as a good guy, but he's not evil personified. He's the punishment we deserve, you know?" Sounds like the perfect representation of Godzilla to me. Love it!
