Godzilla im not sure that it is Rated R but your right there will be blood and destruction but still Edwards didn,t said anything about a Rated R movie so im gussing that it might be PG 13 or Rated R if it is then im going too watch it

Also, your description of Godzilla's "charge-up" before unleashing his atomic breath sounds badass - and could work well with the "realistic" tone Gareth Edwards is going for!

Well, going by the MUTOresearch site, I think they all but confirmed that he'll be playing Serizawa. If you type in "Watanabe", it says "Did you mean Dr. Serizawa?".

Nice, well the thing is, is the whole rated r godzilla movie actually sounds really cool and sense im going with my sisters boyfriend who is 27 so it wouldnt be a bad thing if it was rated r with gore.... because actually that wouldnt bad..... but 14A works just fine also....
Well, since I'm 21, I'd totally be down for an R-rated Godzilla, but I doubt that will happen. Violece and gore isn't as much of a deciding factor anymore. The only way you'll get an R-rating is if there's an obsene amount of cursing, nudity and sexual content. Violence and gore - unless it's really gruesome - will get a 14A rating, at most.
I expect the film will be given a 14A certification. Probably not an R. I'd be immensely surprised if it does.

I hate to say this but this beautiful piece of art of a movie is actually going to be Rated R.
I did some research and found there will be plenty of gorey moments in this film.
And its obvious. I mean just watch the trailer. Its haunting,intense, cursing ( bad language )
blood,intense violense, thematic elements, and is definatly NOT for children.
The train scene in the trailer shows hundreds of dead people laying on the ground.
If this isnt enough proof right there. Then i must of been hit with the obvious stick.

@KYERO. I completely agree with all that you said. Just like most people, I would love to see a classic Godzilla enemy. However, this is Americas Godzilla. I am more into seeing new great monsters. Which Im sure Gareth and everyone involved will do.
We can't just jump to conclusion here, we dont even know if Wantanabe is even playing as Serizawa in here.

I would love to see Godzilla vs. Gamera one day, but I doubt it will happen. Like Gman said I don't think Legendary would see any reason to as Gamera is not a big name in the states. But my main worry for if this film ever happened would be Toho handeling it. Personally I would prefer Daiei to make the film and that certainly wouldn't happen.
My FAVORITE is Godzilla vs. the Smog Monster. I don't think it's the best Godzilla film (though I do think it's up there) but it was the very first one I ever saw. Rented it from the library and was hooked on Godzilla ever since
I think it would be a tie to be honest, the original film was limited in SFX abilities so I think Hedorah wasn't portrayed as well as he could today. He's made of sludge, the only way to defeat him was to dry him up. I don't think Destroyer could accomplish that and Hedorah doesn't have the physical power or weapson to kill him.

the marvel comics godzilla was 150 meters, if what gareth says is true, then Godzilla will have to be bigger than that, maybe pushing 600 feet. the tallest that i would expect him to be would be 185 meters, a good 20% taller than marvels godzilla.
id rather have a white beam. if its blue id be perfectly fine with that. id also like a green one but i doubt thats going to happen lol
At first glance, I thought it might be a funnel cloud dropping down from a cumulonimbus cloud anvil. Here in the SF Bay Area, we get maybe one to three t-storm events, nothing like the one visualized in the trailer. And certainly we don't get supercells! This looks like a mixture of extreme weather and extreme destruction roiling together in a maelstrom of death. Can't wait!
As a recording arts major, I think the trailer you made is actually pretty cool.
Good pacing, good cuts from one scene to the next, and a pretty good sense of timing with Godzilla's first roar and the downbeat of the original piece you did.

While we're on this subject, would everyone be ok if they pulled the original score from 1954 to showcase Godzilla?
It's more of a remix of the trailer. Not bad, but I really hate the music at the end. Competely destroys the mood. Why do so many people think Godzilla needs rock or heavy metal music? It's clearly not working.
In my opinion godzilla should have 2 different ways to do his breath:
1. the 1954 gas one in white which is ore like a acid breath that melts down eerything
2. the blue classic on which is the powerfull one to blast everything away.

i was looking back at the old description of the movie that says the mutos will be bolstered by mankinds scientific arrogance. bolster means to strengthen or support, hmmmmm...
KYERO I,m not saying that destroyah will for sure be in the movie, i am just stating a possability that at least ONE of the creatures may at least be based off him, im sure there will be a great variety to these muto things. also, considering that this is a reboot, i would never expect him to have the exact same ogigins. basically heres what i think. 50% there wil be absolutely nothing even close to destroyah, 30% that there will be something at least reminscant or similar to destroyah, 15% something will be actually based on him, and 5% that he would actually be included in the movie. as far as king ghidorah goes, its an awesome kaiju, one of the best, but i doubt any three headed dragons will be presnt, at least not for the first film, and the same could be said of destroyah, or really any other toho kaiju. also, monster X/0 could be what they initally call Godzilla in this move. you are right of course, that we are all assuming too much. for now all we can really do is specualte. if one of these kaiju is in it, great! if both inspire something, even better! but well just have to wait and see. btw, i admire your logic, i didn't thinck using the japanese version of destroyah,destoroyah, would make a difference, plus you make excellent arguments!
