Those were not tornado clouds GODZILLAFREAK.
The clouds in the trailer are called "cirro-stratus" clouds, and because they're made mostly of ice crystals they droop and hang downward which is one of the only clouds to do so. Notice how the clouds in the trailer were unmoving and static as the soldiers dropped through the sky. A tornado would be in very clear motion because it is formed by two different air currents moving at different speeds to create what's known as a wind shear, also known as a central moving column of wind.
While it's possible for tornadoes to form from the ground up to heights of close to 40,000 feet, that was not the case in the trailer.
There is nothing muto related about this phenomenon in this trailer.
if godziila is nuclear, he could be giving off a lot of heat, maybe that's somehow messing with the local climate, idk, just a thought, kind of inspired by godzilla vs destroyah i guess
Doubtful.
Godzilla himself is not large enough to be the cause of anything like a tsunami, as those take such tremendous forces as the movement of the tectonic plates and underground earthquakes resulting from said shifting plates. Godzilla is also not large enough to cause devastation on a such a widespread scale as a tsunami. His path of destruction is much more linear given that he can only take up so much space at one time as opposed to a tsunami which can cover literally miles from end to end.
Realistically speaking, Godzilla could cause as much damage as a tsunami given enough time, but for short term effect the tsunami has him beat.
Many of you seemed to have missed the point of the main question, save for LINKZILLA.
Realistically, Godzilla would never be able to sustain its own existence with anything less than several thousand gallons of pure rocket fuel fed to him continuously on a conveyer belt without end. Even then, Godzilla would be able to do little more than lie there and blink at us. Roaring, walking, using the thermonuclear breath. All of that would be entirely impossible for a being of his size and weight.
Realistically, Godzilla could never exist. Nor could any Kaiju above a certain size.
Just read this if you don't understand why: http://www.angelfire.com/ego/g_saga/kaijubiologyarticle.html
I did the exact same thing and I got some pictures. I'll upload them soon.
I SAW IT.... I cut it down frame by frame and i saw IT DUDE!!!! YAGAHAHAY
i like it, it does make sense.
your thougths are interesting, but i can't help but point out that the origional mecha g was an alien weapon. but still, i like your idea.
The trailer showed watanabe in modern scenes, so there is a modern serizawa in this movie.
I HAVE CHILLS HEARING THAT FLIPPEN ROAR!!!!! hehehehhe

MUTO is a Private Agency that deals with the mysterious thought to be kaiju sightings. You should be scared.
I don't disagree with the topic of shifting to human character focus. However this is an American made Godzilla film. There is going to be human plot development. Its a serious movie with a serious monster. They are going to spend definite time on building Bryan Cranstons lead role in this film. There are some great actors in this movie, and I'm excited to see all aspects filled out.
Like I said in other forums, I think Godzillas foe is going to be strongly based on Destroyahs creature design and evolution. It has too many connections to all of the viral campaigning and teaser trailers.
Hm, you guys all have very good points and statements. Im loving these comments. You guys be awesome!
The nuclear energy-as-food aspect is from the previous versions of Godzilla. Since this is a reboot, I don't think that will be the answer; after all, where would G find nuclear energy in a natural form? On the other hand, there wouldn't be enough organic matter to feed something that size...
Gareth Edwards might leave that as a mystery, with the human characters in the movie wondering the same thing: what does he consume?
I get where you are coming from here Zillahater. That's a very good point that needs more clarity. Is it for certain that its gonna be a completely new monster Godzilla is facing? I would definitely like to see a creature similar to Destroyah. Its a very good enemy and its evolutions within the movie really connect with the new Godzilla movie information and trailers.
@XXSABERBLACKCROW
Dude, im on your side bro....i beleieve there will be a godzilla vs gamera someday... and yes on how u said something about them talking about that concept, i ve heard it too bro
lets just hope there will be that movie someday
Finally!
Well worth the wait! I now have no doubt that Gareth Edwards has made a serious, high-quality movie about the most famous monster of all time. This trailer is fantastic, from the eerie ambient music ("2001") to the great camera shots of the Halo-jumping soldiers. The smoky, dust-cloud atmosphere is perfect; gives it a surreal atmosphere that is totally appropriate for the tone of this movie. From the beginning, I was excited by Edward's decision to do this film in a dark, realistic way: what would people do and react like if such an impossible thing actually happened? I've waited forever to see a movie that took this approach, and put realistic human drama into it, and just by what I've seen in the trailer, it seems that he's done just that 8)...
A guys Dr Serizawas is not going too survive too the hole movie because the news said Part of Godzilla 2014 will be 1954 so there will be alot of move scenes on the mordern days
your artwork is stunning riptorcpv, I definitley want to see more from you in the future
maybe it is photosynthetic, like the plants, or superman (?)
Jeeesus give 'em the inch, they want the mile! Just be happy with this trailer for now eh?
I hope they do somthing similar to the govoner in the walking dead
Just hoping......
I feel like "simmiliar" is the key word here. Gareth said this was all new monsters. He never said the new monsters couldnt refference older monsters.
Personnaly, i think there are two possible endings;
Ending 1; Godzilla will be lured back into one of those weird sinkhole. He has been trapped before remember. Also, remember how Gareth said he would love to try the "Monster Island" concept if he ever wanted to do a sequel? Remember guys, "CONCEPT"; Doesnt have too be an island ;)
Ending 2: Godzilla will return to the oceans and/or the sinkhole by himself. This has also happend before. He goes back to his own domain when whatever treath has been defeated.
Maybe if he survives through the movie, he`ll get it at the end of the movie after having gotten something in his eye, as you noted.
What he looks like? Well, believable. A big, powerfull, but simple machine. Now, i loved the pacific rim jaegers, they were the best designed giant robots i have ever seen. But MechaGodzilla should be a bit simpler made. Its hard to explain.
Its hard to say. How would they implement Godzilla into the Pacific Rim universe? That would require alot of explaining. Also, it would mean two Godzilla franchizes going at the same time. We cant bring the existing universes togheter, that would be EVEN MORE COMPLICATED.
But if we look past the fact that there is already one Godzilla series going on, the millenium series (I consider G2014 a part of this), it could work;
Godzilla could awaken from somewhere under the breach, not in the breach, but buried underground. The explosions and so could awaken him, and he would then start his reign of terror. So it could work, but it would still have a ton of flaws, and get a lot of bashing.
Ill tell you one thing serizawa in the trailer looks like a mess. I think the flash back 1954 "young" serizawa predicts the caverns all connect and something living is down there, everybody laughs off the idea and hes banished to obscurity (figuritively ofcours) NOW IN THE PRESENT TIME Muto is attempting to capitalize off of his initial findings. JUST A GUESS OR MAYBE JUST PERSPECTIVE BUT Serizawa looks like the military basically opened his apartment door and said "you were right" and now he has to form some type of way to combat it... idk if that makes any sense
all i would know for sure about a crossover...
GODZILLA WINS!!!
TRUE BATMAN, i agree, mechs can be serious and belivable, but as much as i would like to see a new mechagodzilla, i'm just not sure if Gareth is willing to include him. no because he wants realism, or yes because he is a Godzilla fan and mechagodzilla is awesome. I think once we see how far Gareth is willing to go with the Godzilla universe in the new movie, things will become more clear. personally, i hope theres a future movie featuring mechagodzilla.
SUPER GOJIRA. thanks for pointing that out, I always seem to do that with the word think. Just some odd habit I guess.
GODZILLAMYCOUZZIN, I like the idea of people trying to lure or confuse Godzilla, it stands to reason that they would eventually figure out that just shooting him doesn't do much good.
well origionally, destroyah started out as prehistoric microscopic organisms in the ocean, but was then mutaded, pherhaps something similar will happen, only this time the creatures orgionate in a subtteranian enviroment and are obviously not microscopic. this is backed up by all the stuff on the MUTO site about incubation, embryos, and so on. thats my theory anyway, i'm sure more will be revealed as time goes on.
My other cousin (not the BIG G) predicts the movie will end with GODZILLA being lured by the military to an island, where they attempt a last ditch nuclear strike. BUT IN THE END WE ALL KNOW GODZILLA GON SHUFFLE N BOX DAT ASS.
FIN.
@Godzilla_Himself Im not one who likes to be a gramar nazi but, I couldt help but notice that on multiple threads you spell think thinck.... (Dont be insulted, its my nature)
I am 100% with you on this one. I believe a lot of people have ignored this one. So many things point to this being the creature he is going to battle. It was by far one of my favorite battles within the Toho realm. Thank you for paying attention to detail!
The only thing that doesn't complete our argument is the MUTO pictures at those pits.
What do you think?
at some point they will probably thinck Godzilla is dead, but then they will end up being very dissapointed
