The Super Bowl would be probably too early, date-wise, for a movie coming out in May, but if you're trying to reach the largest audience, it would make sense. The SB is the single most-watched television broadcast in the US, year after year, but at the outrageous cost of running an ad during the SB, I don't know if WB/Legendary will do it.

Unless I'm mistaken, the first trailer hasn't run on television yet, only online....??

Cranston and Watanabe...

I can't wait to see how Cranston handles this type of role, after Breaking Bad for 5 years; definitely the other end of the spectrum!

With Watanabe, I'm curious how he'll play Dr. Serizawa; probably alot different than the original role in the '54 film...

Let's see how the FIRST movie goes, before speculating on a sequel, Monster Island idea-based or not...

My reasons for optimism were fueled by the cast, trailer and tone that is set for the film, however...

There's always the "movie-can't-live-up-to-expectations" factor, which can make it nearly impossible for a movie to deliver.

The one thing different on this case is how conscious Gareth Edwards is of not 'screwing this up', and the near-universal animosity over the '98 abomination...

It be cool to see some clsic Kaijus, but I would much prefer to see new monsters.

The monsters will be originally developed by Legendary.
Godzilla is the only thing in the movie that is property of Toho 

i want to see destroyah, ghidorah, orga,titanasaur,anquirus,rodan,space godzilla, and baragon. of course i doubt they will all show up at some point but who knows

characters id want to see in the legendary series would be rodan,anguirus,mechagodzilla/kiryu,king ghidorah,gigan and MEGALON and those are my favorite characters

There's always a chance it could be bad but I agree with the commenters above, it has all the ingredients to make it a success. Gareth Edwards is inexperienced but everyone has to start somewhere and this is his chance to really shine and to make a name for himself in the mainstream. The fact he comes from a special effects background gives me more faith that he's the right guy to be at the helm of this movie. Still can't get enough of that shot of Godzilla from the halo jump, he looks immense. My hopes remain high.

Count me in for Bryan Cranston. While we all know he's a spectacular talent, he's been playing Walter White for the last 5 years. I'm excited to see him play a new character whom, I know, will be wonderful to watch on-screen. It wil be a real treat to watch him play someone new.

Ken Watanabe is always exciting, but I almost fear he'll phone in his role.

yes i understand that it was never confirmed, that is why i used the word "idea". the reason that i said destroy all monsters is because that is probably the most well known movie that uses monster island, of course i probably should of just said monster island, but you see i just automatically think destroy all monsters when i hear the term monster island so i kinda just put it there without really thinking about it. thank you for pointing that info out guys.

This looks cool, but...I dont know if its just me seeing it, but what in the world is going on with the camera angle? It shifts and turns all the time, its quite distracting.

Aaron Taylor Johnson. He is the supposed "center of the movie", and im interested in what this will mean for him as a character.

Actually i like you ideas you have already but it would be very cool to bring all of godzilla charecters and the ones that have not been in recent games like zilla, monster x, hedorah and etc. have two game campaign modes. one for the recent film aduptation that could be an RPG and a mode to play as other classic charecters from other films. and than online vs modes and keep all the ideas you had for the game. have other game modes such as brawl and classic story mode like godzilla unleashed, save the earth and generations,  as you progress you can customize( chose different spines on godzilla and musculitures, skin color, etc.) your charecter and upgrade abilities. attacking power plants and other energy plants to gain more power and health. when battling monsters you can still roam through cities and fight at the same time and even go to different islands ( depending where in america or japan) and also swim and a cool little touch wold to see the original godzilla skeleton. one other thing, it would be awesome to actually walk through buildings and have small segment of buildings and other objects in your enviroment and even blow holes through the buildings through the other side to hit an enemy with your atomic breath. lots to read but it would be lots of non boring gameplay it would be in a godzilla video game.

Aaron Taylor Johnson. I'd say Bryan Cranston, but I already know he'll be spectacular as always. I'd love to see Aaron push himself more and I believe this role will open new doors for him. Especially considering he's most well-known for playing Kick-Ass, it'd be nice to see him play something a bit more "stoic".

I think it'd be cool if the end credits were silent or you just heard a Geiger Counter click every once in a while. I imagine the film will have a dark and intense, almost abrupt ending and I find it best to soak something like that all in with silence.
