I'd like to start a discussion on the real number of monsters, Mutos or kaiju in the film.
So, in the toy line, from what we've seen, there is a winged Muto, an eight legged Muto, and Godzilla. That would mean that there are 3 monsters in the film, right? But to me, that might not add up..
Hear me out; some of the synopsis' would leave me to believe that there are more than just two foes for Godzilla to defeat. For example; " monster ( Godzilla) against malevolent creatures who, bolstered by humanity’s scientific arrogance, threaten our very existence. "
If there really was only two Mutos, would they actually threaten the existance of mankind? Surely the militaries from multiple nations are capable of killing just two monsters?
Also; "mayhem of a world overrun with monsters." Would the world really be overrun by just a couple of kaiju?
I'm thinking maybe we've only seen series one of the toy line, much like what happened with the Pacific Rim figure range, in that many kaiju were missed out...
Perhaps I'm wrong, but I believe there's more than two giant monsters. The leaked trailer from a while back featured a fallen creature the fanbase nicknamed 'Vishnu', and it looks neither winged, or eight legged to me. Then again, there was a lot of controversy with the whole idea of it being just for the trailer, but, I don't know.
However, I'd like to hear your thought on how many monsters there will really be for the king to slaughter, and the possibilty of many, many smaller sized monsters targeting humans to consume, which the army could handle. It could even be that Godzilla takes out the two we know about, and the rest of the film is Godzilla against the world, but I'd like to stress that I am ONLY SPECULATING HERE, PEOPLE. EVERYTHING I SAY COULD BE TOTALLY INCORRECT. -
but I value your opinions. Here's to a good discussion!
