Mikezilla, people also say that Justin Bieber makes decent music. Godzilla isn't going to be rated PG13 because everyone's making this judgement based on what we're used to and what we hope would be done to make this easier to be accessed by the general audience.
There's a possibility that this movie could be rated R, but that chance is pretty slim.
What determines the rating of this movie are the movie rating companies, such as Motion Pictures Association of America (MPAA).
I think the rating will be revealed in the next trailer, or maybe the one after that.
:P
I think all this hoax has done is bring out the true fans of this community and shown who the true trolls are. I'm flattered by your posts and I want to say thank you. I think this is the top Godzilla site on the net, not for how many hits we get or how many Facebook likes we have - but because of the users we have - all of you, the members.
It's like, this forum has filtered out the douchebags from other forums and we're only left with the true, level-headed fans to engage with - and I couldn't ask for anything more.
So thank you, for the support and for helping make this site all that it was ever intended to be - a positive coimmunity. Thank you.
I don't have any kids, but my two year old sister loves the shit out of it. She gets scared at the roar at the end, but other than that she keeps telling me to "watch again".
As for my five year old brother, he loved it too. He gets excited every time he sees it.
My other brother, who's 13, loves it as well.
My sister, 18, doesn't care for Godzilla at all and was rather apathetic when I showed her.
The only person I know who thinks it's completely scary is.. well nobody I know.

I loved the speech of the king wanting to defend his title and throne :D
Maddex is doing great. He has been in remission since May 2013, which was after his 1st phase of treatment(Induction which is most intense). He is currently in the last phase of treatment called maintenence until Oct 2015. Treatments are not easy, but thankfully they are much less frequent. He does get a new Godzilla character or movie every time we go into clinic, he has ALOT. I will keep everyone posted on the progress of this projuect.
Nearly 200 figures, all the movies bilingually, three full sized posters (one signed by Akira Takarada), all the original Marvel comic books (not reprints), all the IDW comic books, a TON of books from America and Japan, photos and lobby cards (some signed), original art and prints, plus paintings, drawings, prints, and sculptures I have made myself! :) Thats all I can remember off the top of my head! (Most of my stuff has been packed up due to us moving, unfortunately.)
I think another reason this is going on for so long is due to the lack of info about the film. If a trailer dropped today/tommorow/yesterday then this would all be old news (no pun intended) and things would be back to normal.
I have no idea what expect from this new Godzilla but the continuity so far with the classic is really exciting.
I too loved Godzilla movies as a kid and would be hard put to pick a favorite. Plus, you guys REALLY know your Toho and I don't want to embarrass myself. One thing I would love to see is some homage to the cinematography and even the crushed aspect ratio that stretched everything vertically for TV. Just a little retro nod like that would rock.
Years ago I was with my then 5 year old daughter ( another Godzilla fan) at a great place in Chicago called The Monster Store. They had a big TV and were playing a Godzilla movie and two very serious guys were watching. Godzilla was wounded and had some red paint on him. One guy says "this was the first movie to show Godzilla wounded". And the other nods, looks down at my daughter and says paternally:" you probably shouldn't watch this, honey." My heart was warmed. What he didn't know was that her then favorite movie was Night of the Living Dead.
1.- The eyes. I think they are too small, I prefer a meaner and fierce glare from Heisei desings. The Box art of SH Monsterarts Godzilla 1995 makes my point:
.jpg)
2.- THe dorsal plates: too small for my taste, and do not feature many points as the overall designs used in Godzilla many incarnations. They look like Zilla plates with cuts over them.
3.- The feet. These are the ones that really pissed me, specially because they are anatomically incorrect. The round and smaller feet are suitable for a four-legged creature, like a horse, an elephant, a sauropod like is stated above. In each case the weight of the animals is sustented by all the four limbs, and cannot be wider because the creature could have problems to walk or run. In a bipedal creature the feet need to cover a broad surface in order to keep in balance the weight. If this Godzilla has round feet, so he would need to rely on his tail as additional support, but that also means having the tail at the ground ALL the time because any effort to swing it to perform a sharp turn or to use it to attack an enemy Godzilla would loose all his balance and then slams the ground. Obviously the movie won´t show that, but it is by far unreallistic.
hey AmericanGodzilla so happy for man for your 200th post
Holy crap looks really cool
Wow, this made my night. The Make A Wish Foundation is such a special organization, and they truly do make dreams come true for those who need it the most. My father was actually the President of the Foundation for many years when I was a child, and I got to hear about the amazing work they are doing first hand. I hope your son gets his wish, and I will keep him, you, and the rest of your family in my prayers. :)
I think this will be fun.
lolz.
Um godzillasaurus2000 question where does the doctor come in. just wondering
hmmm...
1. Japanese zilla
Because he was quite a bit larger, I think.
2. Which Manda? The showa manda or the milennium manda? Milennium manda would win, showa would lose.
3. Maybe Jackson's Kong. More brute force and he's a bit more intelligent.
4. Well if Burning Godzilla loses, everyone loses.
5. Kiryu would slaughter the original Godzilla, he took care of the Godzilla in Tokyo SOS, and lets face it.. Gojira 1954 wouldn't stand a chance.
Hello there. I'm a regular visitor of this site, I'm psyched about this Godzilla movie and its startling to see how many others are, too. I guess I shouldn't be surprised. But what does surprise me is how seriously everyone is taking every little detail.
That shouldn't surprise me either, I suppose. I'm a long time poster on the Prometheus site and couldn't believe how seriously, even personally, others were taking the slightest little thing. Don't get me wrong, I'm passionate about science fiction, Ridley Scott and the Alien universe. And I loved Prometheus. But what disappointed me was the fans, and how riled they were.
One thing that never happened there, though, ( that I know of) was taking Chris to task for hiccups in the info stream. Chris is awesome, dedicated to the medium and apparently tireless. He's only ever been fair as a mod and has set a very responsible tone. I say if you're dissatisfied with the service, try opening your own site! It's a free world. Sort of. But really, he's the host of this party and does a stellar job. If he dropped the ball ( I don't even know that he did) so what? Don't we all?
In due time we will all have seen the new Godzilla and there will be a whole new bunch of things to be unhappy about, if youre so inclined. And Chris, unlike any of us, will be there to take it ALL in. And shake his head and soldier on.
Sorry Chris, not to embarrass you!
S.H. MonsterArts Burning Godzilla and alot of Bandai Japan and like 10 Bandai creations Toys the first Godzilla toy i got was bandai japan Godzilla 1993 or 1994
Booooohyaaaaaaa yayayayayayayayayyayayay sorry for the spam but YAY!!!!!
ok so my thought on this is:::(drumroll plz) yessssss yesssssss yessssssss!!!!!!!!
ok so, this is preety neat. It's kinda expected but still cooooool.ok I hope it has: "high quality pictures from the movie". Anywho, what pic will u want to see from the movie(ya ya it hasn't came out but if there's any pic u think ull see in the movie say it down below please).
I'm not sure why it hasn't. The Japanese dubbed King of the Monsters.
What I hope for is the new movie to have at least ONE scene where he does the dance from Invasion of Astro Monster. I'll also be kind of dissapointed if it's short. I want it to be AT LEAST as long as Final Wars. 1 hour and 30 minutes just won't be enough Godzilla for me. Also his atomic breath... what I think would be cool is if his spines flashed just once, then a different area flashed, and it sounded like thunder. Then the thunder flashes would gradually get louder and happen closer together until Godzilla opens his mouth and a thunder roar from Hell emerges and his atomic breath flies furiously out of his mouth, causing an earth-shattering BOOM!!!!!!!!!! noise as it destroys everything in its path.
i agree and nice battle choices I like them
i hope he can get his wish and be like godzilla i always wanted to be like Godzilla 1993
1: America Zilla, because he has better CGI.
2: Manda, because he's Manda.
3: Toho's King Kong, because his arms can extend when he needs them to.
4: Burning Godzilla, because he is a nuclear reactor.
BONUS: The Doctor would win, because this paradox would need to be fixed IMMEDIATELY.
Hope I helped ;)
This is amazing. Any kid like him deserves to be able to do something they love. Especially if it's Godzilla ;)
I don't think that has to do with Godzilla. She is just depressed or something and its no laughing matter. It's like saying "I am as mad as The Hulk".
When I was older, I was able to see the 1st Gojira film. However growing up I saw the 62 Godzilla vs King Kong film. At the time it was a reflection of the American Kong only bigger and had a new 'shocking' trick. The ones I remember the most of pre-millenium era Japanese films were: Godzilla vs Mecha-King Ghidorah, Godzilla vs Space Godzilla, Godzilla vs Destoroyah, and the American Zilla film.
I think I enjoyed Destoroyah more, as it was a Kaiju form of the weapon that killed the first Gojira. While I know the American Zilla isn't Godzilla, it didn't stop me from enoying the film as a general monster movie (plus the cartoon series was cool).
Never saw the Millenium series, well aside from Final Wars. I heard that Toho and a Japanese Zilla, so I was eager to see the fight (knowing full well that Gojira would win, but as long as the fight as accurate to Zilla's behavior I would enjoy it). I was greatly disappointed in how short the fight was and how opposite the behavior was. Granted, had the Final Wars Zilla been the "Zilla Jr" cartoon concept I could understand it's behavior for Zilla Jr was pretty Gojira-like itself. Final Wars Zilla was so dumb, considering how weak physically it is vs Godzilla, that even the American Zilla could KO it. The American Zilla prefered to wait until it could have the advantage, prefering to NOT attack openly and risk injury. Now its "sneak attack" attempts vs Gojira could spell its doom; depending on the move it did.
Of the Gojira incarnations of the past, that I've seen, I think the 1st Gojira is the better design. It had a tough hide rather than fast regeneration. You can only do so much vs tough hide, for both kaijus and the military alike. The upcoming American Godzilla would combine the physical aspects of the 1954 Gojira, increase its aggressiveness and power, to result in (possibly) the greatest form of Godzilla/Gojira to date.
If you guys want to look at speculation, go to our Prometheus forum, people had a blast talking about the movie and posting theories. It was awesome to see what came true so to speak when the movie finally came out. It was so much fun. :)
I joined the site because of Prometheus. We only had that forum back then.
I agree with everything you said.
@GMAN2887 Thanks! I'll upload more photos once my dad sends them to me :)
Every movie in one form or another, 6 SH monsterarts figures (slowly growing), 8 t-shirts, 2 hoodies, 6 video games, all of the godzilla wars toys from the 90's, a bunch of larger (7-14 inch) vinals that I purchased at G-con's over the years, a pair of slippers, a ringtone, cubicle decorations for work, Photo autographed by 2 different suit opperators and the orriginal mothera twins, 3 posters...... I would have to leave my room to remember the rest.
edit: OH, and the Godzilla film guide, and a bunch of comics going back to the mid 90's
@LINKMAN89 Well said, I literally agree with everything you just pointed out.

G Fan 84, you're cute. I practically grew up in the age to the King of Kaiju, and have never stopped liking it. Just moved onto other things as well.
Going to show this to Chris right away so he can post it on the Facebook so it gets seen by as many people as possible! I also featured it so it stays relevant and doesn't get buried under other posts. :)
I hope your son gets his wish and I really hope he goes into remission.
yeah i like what you said but i already made a post on it (the one gman has put a link on)
Oh and I now see what I just did and it has nothing to do with what the topic is about so I have 20 movies
I have a 3 feet tall sculpture of godzilla that I bought when I was 10
Thanks Gav, well said. It's been a pleasure donating my time here and seriously all we try and do is give fans a place to talk with each other about their favorite movies.
I am honestly unsure as to why people are attacking Chris over this, all he is guilty of is trusting the wrong person. He acted like an over enthusiastic fan and posting something someone did on purpose to trick him. He never meant any harm, he even deleted the thread when he found out it was fake news. That can happen to anyone, Chris just needs to be more careful next time but he never posted to deceive that was the other person who made up the whole story.
Chris is a fan too, it's why he created the site, he built this place from scratch and has never hidden the fact its a fansite, we even have links to the real site on the main login page.

Speak for yourself. I can't stand dubbed versions and I love watching Godzilla movies in Japanese with subtitles. It elevates the experience for me.
As for the reason the original hasn't been dubbed-- The 1954 film has sorta been looked at by distributors as something too good to be dubbed. Railto, Classic Media and Criterion treat it like an art film (whether people agree it is or not) and don't want to lower the calibar of the movie by creating a tacky dubbed track for it.
I for one don't mind this. I'd never watch the original version dubbed.
